・部屋は広く清潔で快適だったが、トイレが狭く感じた
・共有スペースのコーヒーが連泊中2度もぬるかったりほぼ空だったりしたのは運が悪かった
・フロントのスタッフは人によるがこちらの質問や要望に概ね親切だった

とてもよかったです。
綺麗でしたし、こじんまりしてましたが、飲み物もサービス頂けたし、また利用したいと思いました。

朝食をプラスしたのですが、心遣いは感じたものの、予想と違いかなりシンプルでした。

設備は部屋にティッシュがなかったので、少し不便でした。
夜は宿の人が不在とのことで少し心配でしたが、杞憂でした。

静かな通りにあり、町家や骨董店など周辺散策に良い場所です。お部屋のお風呂も広く、清潔感のあるお部屋ですが、室内照明が暗いため荷物置き場と窓際にライティングがあればもっと快適に過ごせると思いました。

快適でまた泊まりたい！

三条は繁華街から少し離れていますが、徒歩で八坂神社まで15分程度で、立地も良く、紅葉の季節で四条は大変混雑していたので、静かで良かったです。
ホテルはリーズナブルでしたが、町屋の街並みにぴったりでおしゃれで清潔で充分に快適でした。子供も大変喜んでいました。
受付の方が大変対応が良く、人柄も良かった事がこのホテルを気に入った1番の理由です。
受付の方に教えて頂いたホテルの前にあるうどんメインと言うお店、町屋を改装したおしゃれなお店で大変美味しかったです。また行きたいです！

立地がよく、快適で、温かいおもてなし、リピーター間違いなしの素敵なホテルです。

チェックインの時間よりもだいぶ前に到着したにも関わらず、直ぐにチェックインさせていただき、おまけにアップグレードまでしていただきました。部屋は使い勝手が良く、とても綺麗で快適でした。
チェックアウト後には気持ちよくスーツケースを預かっていただき、午後3時過ぎに取りに行った時にはコーヒーまで淹れて下さいました。
立地も良く、効率的に京都を楽しめます。
次回も是非泊まりたいと思っています。

泊まるのは2回目です。
利便性が素晴らしく、価格もコストパフォーマンスもいいので好きです。
デザインはモダンジャパニーズであって、外国人の観光客を明らかに狙ってますが悪趣味ではないどころか、とてもオシャレです。
むしろ、木材を多く使いつつ、古くない作りなので快適です。

おもてなし in 京都

ホテル内はスタイリッシュかつ清潔で、スタッフのおもてなしも素晴らしかったです。コインランドリーを利用した際に洗剤をくださる細やかさに感じ入りました。
朝ごはんも吸い物や小鉢、京野菜のサラダと風情が感じられ、満足感が高かったです。
三条や四条、先斗町なども近く、京都を訪れる際はぜひまた宿泊したいです。

旅館を思わせるホテル

Googleマップが大和大路通まででガイドを止めてしまったので、新門前通を入ってどの建物なのか、見つけるのに少々かかりました。街に溶け込んで悪目立ちしていない、ということでもあると思いますが、留意が必要です。

フロアリングにベッドなのに、和風の宿の感じが非常に強いです。上質なマットレスを使っていらっしゃるので、しっとりとしたお布団のような寝心地の良さでした。
窓はほぼ開かず、景色は望めない部屋でしたが、採光も工夫されていました。
お風呂とトイレが別、間の洗面台も使いやすかったです。

朝食は和洋あり、それぞれ凝った素材をお使いで、それぞれの来歴なども書いておいでで、確かに滋味に富む印象でしたが如何せん少ない。私は普段朝食を食べないので大丈夫でしたが、ヨーグルトは欲しかったなあという気もします。まあ、近隣にいろいろなお店もあるので、早く出かけてそちらで召し上がる、という計画を立てておく方が良いかもです。

ホテルの名前に惹かれて予約しました。友人の蘭人民族学者が「次は絶対自分も泊まる」と言っています。近隣にいくつかグループ？のお宿があるようなので、機会があれば是非またお世話になりたいです。

フロントにいらしたイタリア人の男性の方、日本語もお上手で、当方のレイトチェックアウトのお願いにも臨機応変に対応いただきありがとうございました。時間があればお話してみたかったです。

設備（ベッド，風呂，トイレ）はとても上質で，枕も良かった。朝食も完全なバイキングではないが，美味しかった。フロントの対応もしっかりしていて，丁寧だった。
京都に次に来た時には利用したい。
要望としては，エアコンで室内が乾燥してしまうので，加湿機を備えて欲しい。また夜中に，他室でトイレを利用した時らしき水の音がするので，対策して欲しい。冷蔵庫や衣服かけのドアが手前に開くので，ベッドとの間が狭くなり通りづらい。ドアはスライド式だとより完璧である。

最寄り駅、繁華街も近いし、周りは緑に囲まれていて、静かで快適に過ごせた。少し歩けば、良き京都の風情も感じられる。

四条河原町からほど近く、とても観光がしやすい場所。こじんまりとしたホテルだけれど、新しく京都の材質を取り替えれたデザインで心地よく過ごせました。とても綺麗で スリッパやパジャマの質が良く細かいところまで工夫されていることに驚きました。また泊まりたいと思います

部屋が広くて清潔です。洗い場のあるお風呂場は快適。
朝ごはんが美味しくてびっくり！祇園の有名なお店からお惣菜やお米を仕入れているそうです。
種類は少なですが一つ一つとても美味しいかったです。キッシュが最高でした。

外国人向けのホテル

GWの旅行で利用させていただきました。部屋はツインでしたが、ツインにしては少し狭めでビジネスホテルを和風にした感じ。
朝食が小鉢3皿にご飯味、噌汁、サラダとメインの惣菜のない定食のような感じ。バイキングを想像してたら量は足りません。
ビジネスホテルに毛が生えた程度で宿泊費1人2万円は高すぎる。外国人向けのホテルです。

Excellent!!!

We chose this hotel after so much research and finally decided to give it a go!
It was a little tricky to find as there is no big sign but once we found it it was easy after that!
Check in was smooth and the staff throughout the stay was exceptional with helping us with recommendations, questions and getting cabs for us!!
The room was beautiful, we had a ground floor room with a zen garden view.
It was spacious and we had a lot of room to spread out!

Overall this was such a great stay!

Our stay at the hotel Gion Misen in Kyoto was fantastic. The location is incredibly convenient—just a short walk from the Train Station, making it easy to explore Kyoto and beyond.

Our room was very clean. We also appreciated the variety of great dining options available right within the hotel. The hotel is only a few step away from a beautiful river.

The staff were polite, professional, and always ready to help. Thank you for a wonderful and comfortable stay—we hope to return again soon!

This hotel is very western (nothing wrong with that), so if you’re looking for a more authentic experience, this is not it. Staff was fluent in English. Pillows were super thin. Nice location. For $185 a night, you can do better. This hotel is not located on the river as one of the pictures might lead you to believe.

We have a wonderful stay. The room size was a bit smaller than I had anticipated but that is to be expected given the location. And it’s away from the chaos. The location was perfect and was close to the public transportation and right in the Gion district. There were times I felt transported to the past which was surreal and made the trip more enjoyable. Staff were amazing and very friendly and helpful. Don’t expect a luxurious experience but expect a truly authentic one which is priceless.

Hotel is in a lovely quiet and traditional area of the city. The staff are extremely helpful and attentive. The rooms are a great size compared to chain hotels we have stayed at. Separate toilet and shower, tea, coffee and toothbrushes, razor kits. I can’t fault this hotel at all and would recommend staying here if you want somewhere close to town but away from the crazy.

Very confused about the overwhelmingly positive reviews.

WiFi- terrible, never worked for us.

Room- in bad condition. Poop stains on the bathroom wall. Lots of scruffs/scratches on the walls in general. Sink was shaky. Poorly designed and broken plugs on top of the bed that were built were your head would go for some reason. No windows in our room which was fine but should’ve been made more obvious in our listing.

Amenities- free water and coffee in the lobby but otherwise nothing.

Location was the only real redeeming quality for this place. Great location.

Again, confused about the positive reviews. I would not stay here again.

Traditional architecture and exceptional hospitality. Our room was beautiful, spacious and included two beds elevated off the floor with futon bedding, a Japanese style bathroom, a table and 2 chairs set next to a large window with shoji screens. Lots of amenities. Tasty Japanese breakfast. Staff were fluent in English and open to conversations.

Very nice stay - Would recommend!

Small room, but had everything you need. Wifi was pretty terrible, especially at the times when there's a lot of traffic, but otherwise, it's a very nice place to stay. The room is clean and well kept. Very nice people who work there who speak multiple languages!

Well appointed boutique hotel in a great location in Gion District. The twin bed room and bathroom were well-sized for Japanese standards and provided with nice amenities. Staff did an exception job at cleaning the room and common areas. The staff was also very friendly and helpful in answering questions and recommending shops and restaurants in the area. Hotel was a located within easy walking distance to the Sanjo-dori, Shijo-dori, Pontocho, Karasuma, and Gion shopping areas and multiple transit lines that will take you throughout the greater Kyoto area so you have access to all of the major attractions. Highly recommend and will definitely stay at this hotel on future visits.

Amazing stay in Kyoto

The hotel is tucked away on a quiet side street within Gion - a beautiful, old area of Kyoto. The room was spacious and clean. The king bed was big and so comfy. The staff were very kind and helpful and the traditional Japanese breakfast was so tasty. We had the best stay and would highly recommend.

Very close to river bank(within 5 minutes). Even though nearby big streets and shops were overflowed with so many tourists, once inside the hotel, very quiet, relaxed atmosphere. Only thing I was disappointed was breakfast. Japanese style breakfast only. Quality and quantity is not great

Great location but a few minor issues

The hotel staff was excellent and the location was right in the heart of everything. The few issues were the room had a damp smell, the pillows were so flat even after stacking two of them, and the tub stopper didn't work. Other than that the room was very clean and I would probably stay here again.

Quaint neighborhood conveniently located

It took us a while to find the hotel when we first got to Kyoto as it’s nestled in this neighborhood with a subtle sign. We really enjoyed our stay here as it was a great location, comfortable rooms and very clean. We really enjoyed the Japanese breakfast every morning. Minutes from subway stations, shops and restaurants. The staff is super friendly and spoke English too.

Lovely boutique hotel

Hotel Gion Misen is located in the beautiful and historic district of Gion, Kyoto. I was very grateful for their effort in coordinating a champagne surprise for my husband’s birthday and writing a thoughtful message ahead of our stay – it was a lovely gesture.

However, our experience with the staff left something to be desired. During our visit, we stopped by the sister location just a short walk away, where we experienced excellent hospitality. The staff there helped us with a restaurant reservation we had struggled to make due to a language barrier, something we had hoped to receive assistance with at Hotel Gion Misen. Unfortunately, when we asked the front desk at Gion Misen for help, there was hesitation, followed by an email saying the restaurant was closed, even though we knew it was open (it was only closed on Tuesdays, and we requested for Wednesday).

Thankfully, we decided to go to the restaurant directly and had a wonderful time, but had we followed the information in the email, we would have missed out on a great experience.

While the location and the thoughtful gesture for my husband’s birthday were highlights, the mixed service from the staff on a couple of
occasions at Hotel Gion Misen was disappointing. I hope they can improve in this area for future guests

Litet familjärt hotell med mycket mysiga rum. Frukosen serveras på en bricka och är traditionellt japansk med ris, ibland fisk, soppa etc. Superbra läge i Gion området. Upp mot bergen ligger flera tempel på gångavstånd och åt andra hållet, på andra sidan floden, finns köpcentrum, matmarknad samt flera bra restauranger.

Simply amazing!

This hotel was perfect! The staff were extremely helpful, the breakfast was amazing (we tried both Japanese and Western style) the beds were super comfortable and the rooms spacious and silent - Right in the heart of Gion - well connected by subway to the rest of Kyoto. We loved the extra touches (a coffee grinder in each room to make fresh filtered coffee) a deep bath and automatic toilet seats!
