  Nice traditional style Japanese house. Not super far from Kyoto station. Very nice shower/bath area. Futons were very thin and not much cushioning. Overall a pleasant stay

  Thank you for staying at Rinn Umekoji this time. The townhouse you are staying in was renovated from a traditional house in Kyoto, so you can experience Japanese style. It takes about 10-15 minutes on foot from Kyoto Station. We are glad that you were satisfied with the shower facilities in your room. Yes, the futon part is indeed thinner than ordinary Western-style beds. Thank you for your valuable suggestions and we will try our best to improve it. Looking forward to your visit again.

  Property is clean and nicely decorated. The staff is friendly. If you're used to western style sleeping accommodations it may be a little difficult to adjust to an eastern style. Given that this was a whole house in a neighborhood, the front door lock was a liitle too flimsy for my peice of mind, however the management may feel that was adequate. Overall, this is a very nice property to experience a Japanese style home.

  A very comfortable stay. The place is very spacious. The only thing i do not like is that the stairs to the top floor is very steep.

It is one of the features in Japanese traditional house. We will try to consider what would be great for the customers to feel more comfortable and experience Japanese house.   The house has 2 floors, and the stairs are very oblique. Not convenient to elders and children. But it was a good experience to stay. And the facilities are good.

  Thank you for making comments on our hotel.The steep stairs are what traditional Japanese house (machiya) looked like. Therefore, we keep the stairs steep as a unique Japanese culture. However, it is a little bit dangerous for elders and children as you mentioned for us, so we will emphasize other customers to take care. However, we also hope that customers could feel some Japanese culture through it. Thank you for mentioning about your awareness. We hope you will visit us again!
