まず案内スタッフが凝視してくる感じが不快でした。チェックアウトの為部屋を出た時に会った清掃員の外国人の方も死んだ目で挨拶されました。

Sehr schöne Zimmer, schöne Wellnessanlage und ein Frühstück das nicht überwältigend aber ok ist. Leider werden im Spa Bereich nicht genaue Angaben gemacht, dass man sich vor dem Bad waschen soll. Wir haben Touristen mit Badeanzügen gesehen die ungewaschen ins Wasser gegangen sind. Auch hat man sich sehr an den Massentourismus angepasst und das "echte" japanische im Sinne von Service und Höflichkeit ist nicht mehr da. Aber die Zimmer sind wirklich sehr schön.

Outstanding hotel with wonderful staff ready to assist with all your traveller needs and questions. The location is excellent within good proximity to transport hubs, excellent dining options and shopping. The onsen was a lovely surprise and fantastic after a long day of sightseeing.

The staff and location was the best part of our stay.
The hotel it’s is spotless and rooms are very comfortable. The most comfortable beds we’ve had on our two week vacation.

Clean, spacious, tasteful and comfortable rooms. Onsen and sauna are immaculate and well designed. Location is easily walkable to many transportation and dining options while avoiding the crowds around Kawaramachi. Breakfast is decent with a quality spread.

Everything was incredible! The staff very kind and helpful, always saying hello and smiling.

The facilities especially the bathhouse were immaculate and extraordinary, very quiet and peaceful.

Room was lovely and felt quite large.

Ammenities were generous, and the location couldn’t have been better.

Honestly no negatives, 10/10 stay and reasonable price too, hopefully I can come back soon.

Baño enorme. Esquisita ducha y tina
Hotel cuenta con baño público muy bueno, con gran “piscina” de agua caliente, sauna húmedo y piscina fría para alternar. Disfrutamos mucho el Sentó
Desayun muy bueno con opciones de huevos, jugos, café, ensalada y otros. Pocas frutas lo que parece ser común en Japón

My partner and I loved this hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the room felt luxurious and clean. The onsen was also an amazing experience - we had it to ourselves on the afternoon we visited! An easy walk or metro ride to Nishiki market and local sights - I’d definitely recommend this hotel

We had an amazing stay! Beautiful hotel; amazing sauna; the food looked great but we didn’t eat here; the staff was very nice, and the room was super clean. Unfortunately, they do not have a washer and dryer for guests but you can pay for a laundry service.

Side note, the design and theme are probably my favorite style!!

Fantastiskt fint och rymligt rum med stort privat bad. God service och mycket skön säng! Väldigt bra läge som utgångspunkt för att upptäcka Kyoto. Vi kunde gå till de allra flesta platserna från hotellet utan problem.

Excellent and fresh (i.e. new) hotel that's located a bit away from the hustle and bustle, but close enough that you can start your days with a nice stroll along the river or the narrow streets towards whichever tourist hotspot you're heading to.

Rooms are squeaky clean, modern, spacious enough and very quiet (if facing the courtyard, at least). The sauna & spa in the basement is similary fresh and the sauna is nice & hot, even for a Finn.

Newly renewed hotels in central Kyoto. Beds, interiors and bathrooms are top notch. windows are accessible and cannot be opened Hotel services is 4 out of 5 , depending who is working . Problem remain the restaurant, which is not run by the hotel. Restaurant staff can be iffy and not costumer wishes are not first: This doesn’t fit to hotel premium concept. For this reason my stay was 4 out of 5. I will come to the hotel again but I will not book breakfast in the restaurant.

Wir hatten einen wunderbaren Aufenthalt in diesem Hotel in Kyoto und können es uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen. Das Personal war durchweg extrem freundlich, aufmerksam und hilfsbereit – man hat sich vom ersten Moment an willkommen gefühlt.
Das Hotel ist noch sehr neu und entsprechend modern, sauber und gepflegt. Die Zimmer sind außergewöhnlich groß für japanische Verhältnisse, stilvoll im japanischen Design gehalten und gleichzeitig sehr modern und komfortabel.
Die Lage ist ebenfalls top: Gion sowie der Nishiki Market sind in etwa 10–15 Minuten bequem zu Fuß erreichbar. Besonders begeistert haben uns das gut ausgestattete Fitnessstudio und das großartige Public Bath mit Sauna und heißem Bad – perfekt zum Entspannen nach einem langen Tag in der Stadt.
Insgesamt ein tolles Hotel mit viel Liebe zum Detail, hohem Komfort und exzellentem Service. Wir würden jederzeit wiederkommen!

We really enjoyed our stay at Yugen Kyoto Shijo. The hotel is very new and it shows, with everything being in great condition. Very comfortable mattress, nice big bath in the room (so big it takes 30 minutes to fill), and the rooms are fairly large for a Japanese hotel. Breakfast was good quality but the selection is not huge, however we were happy with it. The location is good for walking to many restaurants and bars, and there are bus stops and subway stations within reasonable distance.

The hotel room itself is beautiful, clean, and comfortable, but our experience at breakfast on our final morning completely changed how we felt about our stay.

I arrived at the buffet in the yukata something that has been normal at every other hotel we’ve stayed at in Japan and we greeted the staff in Japanese with a good morning. The young staff member immediately said, “You need to change go change There was no good morning, and no explanation. We were not told whether the issue was my clothing, my partner’s clothing, or both. The staff member then walked away, leaving us confused and embarrassed while his colleague then said then it was my yukata and apologized.

This rule was never mentioned at check-in, in the room, or anywhere else. Had it been explained kindly or clearly, I would have not worn that. This is a complete lack of hospitality and communication.

Because of how uncomfortable and unwelcome we felt, we ultimately did not eat any breakfast at all, despite having paid for it. When we asked about the bento box option at the front desk that was offered instead, we were told it was not available so we went back to our room and did not have breakfast.

Five staff members and not one person tried to resolve the situation.

This was our last night in Japan, and it was deeply upsetting for the experience to end this way. There are many beautiful hotels in Japan, but service and hospitality are what make guests return and feel welcome. We did not feel that.
