暑さ寒さに注意です

部屋は清潔で快適です。それほど広くはないけれど程良いです。エントランスが京長屋なので雰囲気がいいのですが、宿泊棟の通路が外なので、めちゃくちゃ暑いです。春と秋はたぶん快適なんだろうけど。大浴場から部屋に戻る時にまた汗だくで...。それ以外は立地もいいので京都旅にはおすすめ出来ます。

We enjoyed Japanese traditional Machiya lobby area/library with small courtyard. Fancy bento style breakfast in Tatami room was awesome. Modern hotel room was very comfortable, and staffs were very nice. I definitely recommend this hotel.

立地がよく、食事にも困らず部屋も快適、大浴場もありおすすめです！ただお掃除があまり行き届いてない感があり、大浴場の洗面器や椅子にヌメリやシャンプー類容器のベタつきが気になりました。部屋のお風呂には前の方が使われたと思われる使用済みの衛生用品が残されており、ビックリしました。分かりづらく、気付かなかったのかもしれませんが最後によくチェックしていただけたら良い思います…。

価格帯と期待値を考えた時に立地や部屋の設備はとても良いのですが、1年前と比べてどうした！？と思うくらい廊下が劣化していました。掃除してくれるひとのお弁当が床に置いてあったり床のマットが埃で白くなっていたり。直隣が工事中なので日中はかなり音がするのも気になりました。

メリット
▪利便性がよい
▪周りが静かで1人で入れる店も多い
▪清掃を頼まなくても タオルやミネラルウォーターが入った袋を 翌日ドアノブに下げてくれていた

デメリット
▪タクシーが停められ無いので大通りにまで出て 自分でつかまえなくてはならない
(帰り等荷物が多い方は要注意)
▪大浴場が狭くて寒い(脱衣所は大丈夫だがやはり狭いし 洗面は２つで シャワーキャップが無いし 時計が無い)
▪他の方の口コミにもある様に 大浴場のフロアは吹きさらしになっておる故に 出てからエレベーターまでが寒過ぎた
▪昼間工事の音？がうるさかった
▪スタッフに笑顔が無く事務的

結果的に段差も多いし ラウンジに行く気にもなれず
ビジネスホテルとさほど変わらないと感じた
また泊まろうとは思えず 残念だった

最悪のサービス

レイトチェックアウトにも関わらず2度も勝手に部屋に入ってきました。
その後も電話がかかってきたり、ゆっくり過ごすことはできませんでした。
クレーム入れたのにも関わらず[そうでしたか]で終わり。

It was a great stay, but there was no hair cap in the amenities in the room, so I couldn't wash my face. Also, there were no hair styling products for men, so my husband was having trouble styling his hair.
I ordered breakfast for the next day at noon the day before, but it wasn't available. It's a very Japanese-style inn, but I think it's good for overnight stays.

京都らしい旧家と融合したホテル

夫婦での京都観光の為に素泊まり1泊で利用した。エントランス、受付、ロビー共用部が元呉服屋の旧家を改装した造りになっており大変趣があり良かった。部屋は夫婦2人で泊まるなら十分な広さ。窓側のソファーでくつろげて良かったです、ホテル棟は高層で新しく清潔感がある。但し街中の立地なので部屋や風呂からのビューは期待しない方がいい。水回りは洗面台が部屋側に配置されトイレは個室で浴室は湯船なしのシャワーのみ。大浴場を使ったのでシャワーは使わなかった。大浴場は施設情報掲示板はずっと混雑となっていたが、いつまでたっても空き状態にならないので混雑を承知で行ってみたら先客は2名のみだった！　確か…洗い場の水栓カランが５か６ヶ所でさほど広くない設備なので、4、5人居るとやや混雑感が出るような広さ感。サウナ、水風呂、給水設備、ととのい場など一通りのサウナ設備は完備されており心地良い。しかし、サウナ室は２人入ると満員状態です。3人は無理。
素泊まりだったので、食事施設のことは分からないがそれ以外の設備、サービスは満足できるお宿でした。因みに、観光で歩き疲れたので宿斜向かいにある魚メインのお店（雑魚や）で晩ご飯食べました。美味しい魚が食べられました！
尚、宿には車で行きましたが駐車場が無いので歩いて3、4分程の24時間2,500円の駐車場を利用しました。

明朗会計ではないかな？

日帰りの予定を急遽一泊する事になり予約しました。ホテルはすごく素敵でした。
お部屋は広く、綺麗でテレビもYouTubeなど見れたりスパの混雑状況も確認でき便利でした。
スパも広くゆっくりお風呂やサウナに入れて良かったです。一階に洗濯スペースがあり今回は使用しませんでしたが連泊されるなら便利だと思います。ここまでならまた泊まりたいと思うのですが、会計に疑問がありました。予約した部屋が"シングルベット2台とソファーベット1台"の部屋でした。
予約も、大人２人、子供１人で金額も支払っていたのにソファーベットには布団も枕もなかったのでフロントに確認したら子供は添い寝扱いだからもう一組布団が必要なら5000円払えと言われました。予約のサイトを確認しもう一度、大人２人+子供１人の金額で再計算したらやはり子供の金額は支払っていました。サイトには6歳以下は無料とありましたがうちは7歳以上だったのでもう一度フロントに確認しましたが7歳以上でも布団と枕が欲しければ5000円払ってください。と言われました。シングルベット2台のみの部屋でエキストラベットを入れてもらうなどするならわかるのですが。アメニティやパジャマも子供用が用意されていたので金額は発生していると思うですが…明朗会計ではないなと思いました。仕方なく置いてあったタオルをシーツがわりにして余った枕とタオルでソファーベットに寝ました。
子供料金でソファーベット使用の場合5000円かかります。等と書いてあれば違うホテルに泊まりました。家族で泊まる場合はホテルに確認した方が良いです。私達は二度と泊まらないです。

駅やバス停から近く、美味しいお店やコンビニ、スーパーもあり便は良い。ホテル外観は風情がある建物。宿泊棟は新しく綺麗。浴場も大きくは無いが十分。食事付プランが体験出来ず残念。

町屋を利用したホテル作りに感心しました！
小ぢんまりしたホテルではあるものの、京都感が感じられて、私にとっては旅の気分が上がりました！
客室は少し狭いけど、風呂とトイレは別だし、洗い場もあって良かった！

残念な点は、少し清掃が甘かった。３泊4日だったので、清掃しないでゴミ回収とタオル交換だけをお願いするつもりでしたが…相方のベットパットに大きなシミが！あまり注意して見てなかったし、朝早く出て遅く帰ってきていたので、気づいたのが2日目の夜でした…
結局、気持ち悪いし、自分が作ったシミだと誤解されるのも嫌なので、全て交換してもらう事に！
エコ宿泊にはならなかった（笑）

それ以外は、気持ちよく宿泊できておおむね満足でした！

古い町屋と現代の建物の融合
とても快適でした。大浴場もサウナまであり、お部屋は綺麗！特に気に入ったのは、部屋にあるソファーです。快適過ぎて時間を忘れてまったりとしてしまいました。アメニティも充実でした。ハンドソープの香りに癒されました。

京都の町家を保存活用したデザイナーズホテルの雰囲気をもったシティホテル

京都市の有形文化財の旧伴家住宅をバーとライブラリー（と呼ぶには本が少なくはありますが）のあるロビーラウンジとしてそのまま使用し、バックヤードにややデザイナーズホテル的に宿泊棟を建てた中規模ホテル。
京都の老舗の呉服商の町家を、そのまんま保存して活用しているところが素晴らしい。
宿泊棟の部屋も使い勝手もよく、程よい広さがあって快適に過ごせました。

Great Hotel, Very Central

Fantastic hotel, located within walking distance of many of the local attractions like Nishiki Markets, Nintendo & Pokémon Stores, and the Onitsuka Tiger store.

Bed was spacious and comfortable, and the onsen is tattoo friendly, a big plus!

Rooms were well appointed with daily towels and cleaning services, and the hotel staff were super friendly, spoke excellent English, and were more than happy to help book restaurants and the like.

Es ist wirklich wunderschön wenn man ins Hotel reinkommt und durch das restaurierte, traditionelle Gebäude läuft. Dahinter ist es ein normales aber sehr schönes Hotel. Unser Zimmer war groß und das Bett auch. Als 2 meter großer Mann konnte ich mich ausbreiten.
Der Onsen und Sauna Bereich war gut, man konnte sich gut entspannen, allerdings war die Sauna etwas verlebt. Die yukatas sind aus einem tollen Stoff und wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt in den Roben.

The highlight of our stay here was definitely the hot spring. It’s a very zen atmosphere and super relaxing - felt great to visit at the end of a long day of sight seeing. It also was never super busy, which is nice (though we came during a slower travel time). The property itself is quite nice and unique. I like the traditional aspects in the main lobby and the room was pretty modern and chic. The location was also nice, as it was situated quite close to some of the places we wanted to go (such as the market). The only downside of our stay is that I didn’t find the service to be all that accommodating. For example, there is a sign in the lobby stating that they will not call a taxi on your behalf. At one point, I reached out for a recommendation on where there might be parking around the hotel but they didn’t bother to respond. Lastly, we used the on site laundry, which was a nice perk, but were maybe 5 minutes delayed in picking our laundry out of the dryer and they took everything out and put it in a bag. Our clothes weren’t fully dry and since it was shoved into a bag, it’s was all wrinkly as well. I understand there may have been a queue so we should have been more timely, but we followed the timing guidelines provided on the machine and it didn’t appear to be correct.

Fantastic hotel. It felt almost like a fusion between ryokan and hotel. The rooms were modern with regular western beds and bathrooms but everything else felt more like a ryokan. Great location close to everything.

Good location. Great Onsen. Rooms were small. Was not clear that we would be paying for breakfast. Breakfast was not good. The bar area is not conducive to hanging out. weird set up. They would not call a taxi for us. This is a stated on a sign that the taxis will not stop there, even though a taxi did drop us off there. It was a pain to go up to the main street with our luggage in the rain and get a taxi there. Busy street, hard for taxis to pull over. The big watchout for this hotel is fire safety. We were on the third floor and I wanted to take the stairs down to ground level, the door to stairs was locked. There was a sign that said not to take the stairs except for emergency, which is fine but did not know that which is why I tried to take the stairs. But if it had been an emergency there would be no way for me to use the stairs to get out. I mentioned this to the front desk when checking out and he said something to the effect of "we would go and unlock in an emergency". It's not necessary to point out how crazy that statement is, is it?

Great hotel for exploring Kyoto! Short walk from the subway station that connects to Kyoto Station. The hotel entrance is actually an historic wooden structure with some cool common areas. Tourists will stop in during the day to take pictures of it. The library has a 24-hour coffee machine and you sit on the floor (there are tables and cushions). Breakfast can be ordered a day in advance (bento box), but there are plenty of options nearby. There's a pastry shop maybe 50 meters away where you will see people queue up for at 7a.

The rooms themselves are a modern structure and are a bit on the small size, but they are comfortable for two. The spa/bath areas are excellent (segregated). There are two laundry machines, but keep in mind these are not full-size Western machines.

If you have tattoos, this hotel is a good choice because you can use the onsen. If you don’t have tattoos or don’t want to use the public bath there are better places to go for the money. The inside bath is right next to the showers, the locker room is very small, and if you go at peak times it’s like a cattle market.
The breakfast bento boxes are essentially the same every day and not worth the money. There’s a cafe on the corner and a family mart across the street for better diy breakfast options. If you want to eat breakfast in the breakfast room you have to reserve a time spot. If you’re sensitive to fragrances you might want to eat in your room - there’s a very strong incense aroma in the reception area and breakfast room. I had to take allergy meds.
I don’t recall booking a ‘no housekeeping’ room (maybe I did?) but apart from clean towels nothing was done during my 3 night stay. I had to go to reception to get more tea bags.
The staff were lovely.

The staff were very nice and helpful, typical of Japanese hospitality. The area is well located and walkable for dining and shopping. The hotel entrance, small lobby and breakfast area is located in a machiya (old style Japanese house) but the rooms are in a traditional block at the back. Cleanliness was very poor - the third floor, where we had our room, was constantly dirty for the 4 night duration, it looked it hadn't been hoovered for a while. Room was dirty when we checked in - hair on the floor in the room and bathroom and wet carpet. The room walls were scoffed with visible markings, it brought back YMCA memories... There's no wardrobe in the room, only a tiny exposed rail with hangers by the window. We had bought breakfast but regretted it... Because breakfast is served in a small room in the old house at the entrance, it has limited table capacity. To manage capacity, the hotel asks you to commit to a half hour slot in the morning when you can have breakfast AND the type of food (Japanese or Western), when you check in. It felt very inconvenient to choose when you want to wake up and what to eat three days ahead!! Unless you're the type of person who has their life organised by the hour when on holiday, I wouldn't recommend breakfast - there's plenty of dining places around the hotel.

We love this traditional Ryokan hotel. We stayed two extra nights! Our first experience with a bento box was superb! They were able to accommodate our vegetarian diet. Coffee shops are close by. We rented bicycles from 100 bikes that is just a block away. So convenient to the NISHIKI market! We are so glad we stayed in Candeo for our 5 nights in Kyoto!

Fine hotel, underwhelming bath house

The hotel is fine no complaints. I tried the spa one day and that was disappointing - for women it doesn’t open until 3 PM each day and it’s only a small sauna. Two individual-sized sitting baths, and a larger shallow (maybe 1-2 foot deep) pool. I do not recommend picking this place if you want it for a bathhouse, but if you just want a hotel kind of near the center of town, it’s fine.

It is so nice to stay in Candeo in Kyoto. So close to subway and walkable distance to Nishiki Market and even Shijō Kawaramachi. The room is clean and neat. The staff are friendly and nice.

La struttura è realizzata in stile giapponese, molto curata nei dettagli, originale e elegante nello stile e molto funzionale nei servizi . Centrale , vicinissima a metro e trasporti, vanta anche una piccola, ma interessante, SPA giapponese, perfetta per rilassarsi dopo una giornata in giro per Kyoto.

While the property is unique and has all the historic kyoto characters, the hotel itself is a bit disappointing. First, I booked a room with sofabed and already paid the extra cost with expedia, however at check in the person at the front desk told me they don't have record and charged me extra cost to use the bedding for the sofabed. The front desk was confusing as he told me there's no charge for kids but when I asked what is the extra cost that I already paid for he said it may be amenity fee for kids. Mohamod from Expedia was very helpful and called the hotel helped me solved the problem right away.
Second I was excited for the unique Japanese bento breakfast, but was told at checked in that the breakfast room was already all booked up until 9:30, as it's very small.
The room set up is also the most not make sense one out of the hotels we booked in Japan, with the closet area all the way deep in the room. If you like the hotel's character, be prepared to take it's inconveniences

Absolutely fabulous! Nice staff, nice lobby, nice decor, nice “onsen” spa, nice everything. The only thing is the laundry dryer is horrible ,
Looks like the lints needs to take out and it wouldn’t dry. So I’ve been air drying it in my room. I have two kids so I’m doing laundry daily lol. The spa is absolutely fabulous, for the ladies it has two personal tubs and two public pools, and a mist sauna. We went to kimono outlets and end up taking pics in the library in the second floor and it turned out gorgeous. Love this hotel! Housekeeping is great. Just outside the hotel a few steps ahead it’s Hollys Cafe which their spaghetti is so good. Location is central. Close to bus stop, train everything.
