  The host was very polite and friendly, and the house had a lot of character. I especially loved the courtyard. The entire house has been renovated and is very suitable for a family stay. It offers a great opportunity to experience everyday life in a small Japanese residential home.The location is excellent, especially for morning and evening walks. It is also very close to Nanzen-ji Temple, with convenient transportation nearby. The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful.

  Merci beaucoup d'avoir séjourné au « Kyoto Nanzenji-michi » « MACHIYADO ». Notre établissement bénéficie d'un emplacement idéal, à seulement 2 minutes à pied du sanctuaire Heian, un site touristique incontournable de Kyoto. Avez-vous pu admirer la vue depuis le jardin ? J'y cultive de la mousse. En été, vous pourrez profiter d'une brise naturelle rafraîchissante. Merci pour vos aimables commentaires. Chaque année en mars, nous sommes fiers d'assister à la floraison des cerisiers, et en juin, vous pourrez admirer de magnifiques mousses dans les sites touristiques environnants. Les jardins du temple, en particulier, sont à ne pas manquer. Nous sommes dans notre septième année de rénovation. Nous espérons avoir le plaisir de séjourner à nouveau au « Kyoto Nanzenji-michi » « MACHIYADO ». Nous sommes idéalement situés à proximité du quartier de Gion.Nanzenji-michi Morikawa

  Absolutely beautiful, comfortable and enjoyable accommodation. Such a warm, lovely house! Lots of natural light. All the amenities you could possibly want including washing machine, stone bath, giant tv, and a kitchen with great tableware. Futon was very comfortable. It was very lovely to have a nice outside area with a rock garden. The bath are has a small window so that you can look out at the garden. The location ended up being so wonderful as well. The house is off the main road so it feels private, but it's a quick walk to convenience stores, Tozai line, and tons of local buses. It's far enough from the busy tourist areas to feel relaxed, but since the local transportation is so accessible you can easily get around. I stayed here alone and it was fantastic, but it would also be perfect for a small group or family. I had a very nice time here and wish I could stay forever. I would love to come back!!

The area around our inn is wonderful for early-morning strolls to nearby temples and shrines, or for exploring the charming streets of the Nanzenji-do neighborhood. While Kyoto’s winters can be quite cold, it is also a season rich in delicious seafood; I highly recommend trying the yellowtail and crab from the northern part of Kyoto Prefecture. Japan reveals a different side of itself with every season, and I am certain that you will come to love Kyoto even more.
