壁いっぱいに描かれたドラゴンが圧巻で、最高にかっこよかったです！！アートが大好きなので、この迫力ある作品を独り占めできる時間は本当に贅沢でした。2階と1階ロビーにも無料で楽しめるギャラリーがあり、アート好きにはたまらない空間でした。また他の部屋も泊まりに行きます！

家族4人で2泊。館内、部屋は清潔で気持ち良い。スタッフも感じが良い。部屋はもう少し広さがあれば良かったが立地が良いのでほとんど外出していたため我慢出来る範囲。もう少し収納があったりフックが多ければ使い易いと思う。

宿泊が印象深い日となるホテル

清潔で快適、京都駅からタクシーで10分程度で近くに錦市場、高島屋などあり飲食にも困らない。夜は静かに作品を眺めながら眠れる。
入室前にお部屋の作品について説明があり、モニターの画面のたくさんある作品のお部屋を案内されたが静かで絵画のような落ち着ける部屋をお願いしたら空室を探し変更してくださった。その部屋で大変落ち着いて過ごすことができ、作者の作品への想いを聞くことできるアプリをインストールして聞いてみたがこれも大変よかった。
フランスのベルサイユ宮殿などではヘッドセットを借りて母国語で作品の説明を聞きながら鑑賞することができたが、まさか京都にこのような場所があるとは驚きです。
泊まることで作者へ還元されるシステムなので一般の宿泊者が製作者を応援することもできるという仕組みも素晴らしいと思いました。

新年はアートの中で目覚めました。私の部屋はMon Kotaro Okuyama さんのAbstract Dragon という作品。竜の中で目覚めた。
ホテルとして快適で申し分ないです。部屋のアートに目がなれてくると、少しだけテンションあがった状態が続く感じ。なかなか気持ちいい滞在。四条河原町から程近くて、丸善本店も近いので本好きにはうれしい。あと二階のカフェのコーヒーがシングルオリジンの豆が選べてコーヒー好きとしては嬉しいです。
私は古い世代なのでテレビがあったほうが嬉しかったですが、自分のスマホと、設備タブレットのネットフリックスがあれば多くの人は楽しく過ごせるでしょう。

アートと向き合う時間を過ごせました。設備が新しくて清潔、雰囲気はシンプルでスタイリッシュでした。館の非常階段などにも作品展示があり、建物全体を楽しめます。
鴨川が近く、京都らしさを楽しめるエリアでした。

アートに興味があり、気になっていたので泊まってみました。どの部屋も素敵そうだったので、部屋タイプはおまかせにしましたが、一般的なホテルとはまるで違った雰囲気で、退屈せずに寛ぐことができました。お風呂などもとても清潔で快適でした。また近くに旅行に行くことがあれば、別の部屋も楽しみたいです。

まさに美術館に泊まる、コンセプト通りの体験でした。私の泊まった部屋は照明を一番落とした際に、ライトの色が赤になります。まるでライブハウスのような、バーのような感じのあかりの中で眠りに着くのは面白かったのですが、落ち着くかと言うと少し違います。また、laptopを広げられるデスクのスペースがないのは不便でした。

思った以上に良かったです

アートに泊まるというコンセプトは地方都市で多いですが、市内では珍しいかと。アートに対しては好みもあるのでコメントはしません。
接客が丁寧でいて押し付けがましくなく、懐の深さを感じました。再訪したいと感じました。
アートホテルなので食事は期待していなかったのですが、非常にレベルが高かったです。

面白かった

アートが繊細で気をつけて宿泊しました。でも、振り切った感じが面白かったです。酔っ払っていると、アート傷つけそうで、ちょっと心配。でも、また、他の部屋に泊まってみたいと思いました。チェックインの時、ホテルマンが少しお酒臭かったですが、まあ、アリですかね？ラフな感じ〜。あとは、照明のコントロールがベットでできるともっとよかったかな？

思い出にのこる宿泊体験

受付の方は荷物預かりを快く引き受けてくれました。部屋自体がアート作品ということで、とても思い出に残る滞在になりました。展示も素敵でした。値段も1人1万円以下と、すごく満足しています。

アート好きで、通常のホテルを求めない人には、ベストなホテル。面白い仕掛けが色々あって楽しい。
ベットの角の部分や、人の導線上に吊り下げられた頭に当たる高さのアートなど、ちょっとと感じるか、面白いと感じられるかは、泊まる人次第かも。。
私は単純に面白いと思いました。

踊り場のアートはもう少し空間を生かしたものだとあそこでやる意味があるかも。

The room was spotless. the location was outstanding--I'd had some concerns not staying at a "Kyoto Station" hotel, but not only was transit very convenient here, you're steps away from the Pontocho Alley and about a 10" walk to the Gion district. I will say the wi-fi was not the most reliable and you are not able to get fresh air in the room at night (staff say there are safety concerns with opening the windows at night). The cafe and breakfast were also excellent with super friendly staff and breakfast at the right portions.

All required amenities were provided, they also had a water filter that you can use anytime. Staff were also very friendly. She also checked if the room was ready earlier for check-in. The art work was beautiful: overall an excellent experience.

I am very happy about the stay. I can see the owner tries the best for this hotel. All staffs are friendly and lovely. The room i stayed is big and beautiful. I will want to stay here again if i visit Kyoto. Just a couples of suggestion: 1. Remove mouldy smell in the bathroom. 2. The windows in the bathroom makes customer feel insecure. 3. The room is too dry. 4. I dont like windows blinds in the room as it cannot block all sunlight and forces me to wake up in the morning. Thanks again for the excellent experience!

Great location and easy walk to shops and Nishiki market. The room definitely was style above function as to we had to remove a couple of the art pieces to be able to access areas of the room ( these were of course replaced on vacating). Staff were definitely less friendly than other hotels we had stayed in but they were helpful when needed. The bathroom and showers facilities were excellent. Would I stay here again- I’m afraid not.

This museum hotel was beautiful and central for a reasonable price. The staff was kind and went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. The art in the room was beautiful, as was the view from our window.

It was the worst experience when I stayed in Japan. The room is very small, and there is no furniture, no phone. The service was terrible and significantly reduced in the name of environment protection. This hotel is marked as 4 stars in Expedia, but it is only two stars actually. I don't recommend this hotel to anyone.

The hotel has such a hip vibe and is in convenient location near Nishiki market. The hotel staff were very kind. The room was interesting but not that practical as the limited floor space was wasted and the beds in the double room 602 are actually on the floor. The bathroom was amazing, but we did have a toilet issue which they kindly issued a new room and breakfast voucher until it was solved.

Overall, the stay was good. The room could use a fresh coat of paint, and the toilet wasn’t completely clean, there were some spots on the wall. Aside from that, the location is fantastic, the staff are excellent, and the complimentary daily cocktail is a great touch.

Sensationell gut gelegen, die Mitarbeiter sind mega nett, der Kaffee ist sehr gut- ehrlich gesagt fand ich das Zimmer etwas unpraktisch und etwas ungemütlich, also vor allem habe ich Sitzgelegenheiten und Ablageflächen vermisst. Aber gleichzeitig ist das Design etwas sehr besonderes und auch ziemlich konsequent durchgezogen. Auf jedem Fall unvergesslich.

Unique property well-located for visiting main areas of Kyoto. Our room was spacious, though the toilet was very close to the wall in front. Limited breakfast options, but all very tasty. Great cocktails and vibe in the bar.

Live within the art work

This is an art hotel. Each individual room has been used as a canvas to creat art. The first room had a round bed. The second had two beds placed at 90 degree with a huge piece of art on the ceiling.
Great concept if you want something different in a room. Friendly staff and very clean. Worth a short stay

Hotel Arte

Hotel moderno com quartos diferenciados com recintos de artes.
Por ser um hotel arte os quartos não tem o conforto de um armário por exemplo. O quarto 1002 é espaçoso, porém muito escuro. A proposta deste quarto é ser aconchegante com som da natureza, porém é desconfortável quanto a iluminação precária. O banheiro é excelente com chuveiro e banheira separados.
O café da manhã é menu fixo de um toast e um líquido. Como o local de café atende ao público além dos hóspedes não foi muito agradável esperar por uns 10 a 15 minutos para sermos atendidos.
Mas foram solícitos quando precisamos viajar mais cedo.

如同飯店的主題，就像是「住在藝術品裡」，但基本的設備依然俱全，衛浴空間也很有餘裕，唯一較可惜的是吊掛衣物的地方較小，且行李放置的位子會稍微需要考慮一下。
飯店的地點鄰近四條河原町，因此無論是購物、經典或是交通，一切都很方便。
店員態度親切且英文流利，飯店一樓同時也是一間bar，櫃檯則設在稍微裡面一點，但因為氣氛舒適，check in時請不用顧慮，直接走到裡面即可。

Art hotel

A special and artistic boutique hotel. Small but delicious and good breakfast. Courteous and helpful staff. Japanese-style accommodation in most rooms. It was not clear from the photos on the website that most of the beds are low. Sometimes the art in the rooms causes discomfort for guests and some of the room furnishings are in compartments in the hallway, so the rooms are not very comfortable to use.

We loved our stay and BNA Alter Museum. We are big fans of Meow Wolf and art in general every room is BNA Alter is an art installation. We would love to come back and stay at a different room for a new immersion art experience.

Absorb all the luck and fortune in five yen room

I entered the room and was awestrucked that we were greeted by the numerous five yens that were glued on the wall, ceiling, floor, all over the room. They also offered 2 five yens in the room with tools for guests to glue them to the wall to add to the artwork. Air-con temperature was nice and moisted, sound proof was well done as can’t hear much when room is facing the street. Room size is bigger than usual, location is about 7-mins walk from city center. Only down side was no bathtub in the room.

We stayed here for 1 night and wished we stayed longer! Our room had a lovely view of the river and all of the temples. Room was very pretty and spacious. Bathroom was nice, large and clean.

Undoubtedly cool, the gorgeousness of my room did not translate into comfort. The bed and pillows were comfy enough but the “desk” was hard to use and I ended up needing a folding chair and table (that they offer) to make the room more usable.

I stayed for 5 nights and my room was only cleaned once. I was told this would happen when I checked in and I could’ve asked for the room to be cleaned at other times.

The breakfast was great, they have a system where you have to remember to pre-order and book a time slot for the following morning the day before. Reduces food waste!

The room was very cool with an amazing artwork and light show. The shower was great too! Probably the nicest from our whole trip! Location was good and close to Gion, Nishiki Market and local trains.

We stayed there 6 nights and loved there. The room 303 was spacious - especially in Japan. Original decoration - truly living in art, great modern bathroom, and very accommodating and plesant staff.
Close to everything with bus stop&7eleven just outside. Laundry less than 5 min walk.
Great coffee area and coffee itself - breakfast options are quite limited, but again, the staff was very accommodating in terms of food requirements.
We stayed in 3 hotels in Japan so far, and this was our favourite.
They also have bar and little art gallery on the ground floor.

The bed was horribly uncomfortable. It was like sleeping on a futon.
There was no chair in the room. Sitting on the bed edge was uncomfortable because the platform was hard with sharp corners.
There were no washcloths. Only hand towels and bath towels.
The platform for taking shoes off was too small.
Just very poorly designed. It was more about showing off the artist’s painting vs making guests comfortable.

Great artwork rooms but definantly need more storage options great hotel for. 1 or 2 night stay but any longer I think it would be difficult especially they don’t have laundry facilities and our room only got made up once and were their for 4 days breakfast was ok but definantly prefer a buffet as everything in unlimited and only one coffee or juice was an option but was a great hotel overall just afew minor things compared to the other hotels we have stay at in japan

Very cool hotel with individual rooms and kind and friendly staff. We didn't really use the cafe or bar, so I can't rate those, but the location was perfect. One small suggestions for improvement: we had the Mina Katsuki room, which is a very modern but also mostly empty room (with a very comfy bed and a dreamy view of the Kyoto skyline and river). And I get that the bright "cool" white lights in this room are part of the art installation and there is also the option to switch some lights off. But for the evening, some warmer reading lights would have been beneficial and also more cozy.

Such a cool experience living in art and staying at BnA Alter Museum. We stayed in two different rooms to double our experience. Great location, clean and good breakfast, with very friendly hotel staff. Rooms are spacious, but definitely about form over function. While I celebrate that this is about art, this is still a hotel room. There needs to be a hook for bath towels and a place to set bathroom items, and at a minimum, a chair or bench to sit on in the room.

ottima struttura, un po' particolare perche' ogni stanza ha un tema. l'unico problema (se proprio ne vogliamo trovare uno) e' che la stanza era molto buia.
La colazione non era male ma francamente avrei preferito una colazione giapponese tradizionale oppure una maggiore scelta.

This is an experience that will leave you speechless. Between the hostesses working the front desk and explaining everything so well, with a smile on their face, to the amazing decorated rooms. Don't even get me started on how nice breakfast is/the cafe. This is a must visit. Even for one night.

Staff was really friendly and polite. The room was an art piece. The only improvements are:
- guests should not ask for the room to be cleaned as it is a high end hotel so it should come as a default service.
- toothbrush, toothpaste, body wash and shampoo are not available inside the room but at front desk. I don’t understand why?!?!
- we were 3 people (2 adults and 1 kid) but they always left only 2 towel for shower. A bit annoying.
Coffee at the cafe was good!
For the price, it could be better but I can’t complain either.

One week in Kyoto

Unique place to stay. Excellent staff and the rooms were very clean. Our room was spacious enough for a family of four with luggage. We had a large tapestry hanging from the ceiling in our room as our art piece. Very cool and the family enjoyed it too. The bathroom was very clean and spacious too! We were about a 10 minute walk away from the Gion district and Nishiki Market so that was a plus.

BNA hotel is in a great location – would 100% vouch for its proximity to great food, shopping etc. The hotel itself felt a bit old, and not as comfortable as I would've liked. But I did like that there's a cafe upstairs!

Pure style over substance. Staff on check-in made us feel as if they were doing *us* a favour for staying there. Our room was interestingly designed but not comfortable. The sharp concrete edge of the headboard worried me about potential accidents. The room’s light switches were all over the place. A warning from the staff made us scared to touch anything in the room. The bathroom was good though. Location great.

Art hotel

We loved our room 903, the theme was underwater world and it was fun to sleep in art. The hotel staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast needs to be ordered the day before and was tasty. All in all a really great and unique experience.
