素晴らしい

若いスタッフが２人付いてもらいましたが、素晴らしい対応でした。料理も良かったです。寝室が1階で、2階にコタツの部屋とトイレでした。寝室にもトイレとテレビが有ればと思いました。しかし、近日中に必ずお邪魔します。

ちょっとだけ避暑できました

鶴鳴館の豆桜に宿泊しました。
土曜日の一泊。金曜日にふと思い立って調べ1部屋だけ空きがあり予約しました。
過去伺った際には天候が悪く、移動が億劫なので箱根湯本駅からタクシーで移動しましたが、今回は天気が良く、初めてバスを利用しました。すぐ近くまで行けるので簡単ですね。

豆桜のお部屋は食事会場やフロントが近くて便利でした。フリードリンクスペースも充実しています。
貸切露天風呂には夕方と朝の2回入ることができました。お食事ももちろん美味しいです。
1泊だけでもすごく癒されます。
お部屋には2Lのお水と、缶のビール・コーラ、ポカリ、コーヒーマシン・湯沸かしポットがあります。ティーパックと湯呑みを使いますが、湯呑みがとてつもなく熱くなるので、急須があったら最高だなと思っています。

チェックアウト後、バスで芦ノ湖を観に行きました。バス、便利ですね。

源泉掛け流し最高！

源泉掛け流しの温泉がお部屋、貸切風呂、大浴場にありゆっくり湯浴みが出来た。
料理も美味しく大満足しました。

バーやラウンジなどお酒を呑みながら寛げるスペースが沢山あり、お部屋や温泉以外でもゆっくり楽しむことができました。
スタッフの方も皆さん対応が素晴らしく、お料理もとても美味しくて、また泊まらせていただきたい旅館でした。最高の年末年始になりました。ありがとうございました。

全てが最高！

箱根で色々なホテル、旅館に泊まりましたが最高の旅館のひとつです。サービス、お風呂、特に貸切露天風呂が素晴らしい。アルコールも基本フリーでコスパも非常に良いと思いました。
旅館に着いた時も玄関の前で待っていましたし、帰りも最後まで見送りいただきました。
本当に素晴らしい滞在になりました。

老舗の良さと現代的なサービス

到着時の出迎えから、チェックアウト時の見送りまで非常に気持ちよく過ごすことができました。
久々にコタツで暖をとって老舗旅館の良さを味わいつつ、飲み物が基本的にインクルーシブだったりと現代的なサービスも取り入れられていて、とても快適でした。
また泊まりに行きたいです。

休養のため夫婦で2泊しました。
朝夕食事付き、ちょうど台風が来ていて一歩も外へ出ず、館内でゆっくりと過ごしました。

スタッフの方々が魅力的な宿でした。
部屋数が少ないので館内も静か、
食事は半個室にての案内で、他のお客さんとの距離は保てて過ごしやすかったです。

部屋にお風呂がついている部屋が取れなかったので、毎度温泉に行っていたのですが、台風ですごーくぬるくなっていたのが残念でした。予約制の貸し切り露天もぬるくて凍えました。(8月でしたが)
またあつあつの温泉に入るべく伺いたいです。

館内は部屋やお風呂までの通りも階段が多く、廊下も長いので足の弱い方はしんどそうかなと思いました。両親が元気なうちに連れてきたいです。

お食事もお部屋も大変よく、また行きたいと思っています。

Good hospitality

We stayed on the day when it heavily rained. In spite of the heavy rain, the doorman kindly welcomed us with smile outside of the hotel in arriving by car.
We were surprised at service staff whose Japanese language and manners are more than us though some of them were not Japanese. Thanks for their hospitality.

素晴らしい温泉とお料理、ただしサービスに多少改善の余地あり

何より温泉のお湯が素晴らしかったです。また、お料理も夕朝食とも大変美味しくいただきました。味が濃すぎずバランスよい健康的な御料理が品数多く出てきて堪能しました。ロビーではアルコールを含むフリードリンクが楽しめたのもよかったです。
ただ、大浴場で脱衣籠が伏せてあると除菌済みの未使用と説明書きがありましたが、私が行った時は全部使用済みで、混雑時には除菌が間に合っていないのかなと少し不安になりました。
難を言うなら、朝食で9時スタート組の私たちが最後のお客になってしまったらしく、まだ設定時間内だったと思いますが、なんとなく早く出てほしそうな雰囲気が感じられました。9時45分に「ご馳走さまでした」と何度か声をかけて出た際には、スタッフは後片付けに忙しく走り回っていて誰もこちらに気がつきませんでした。また、チェックアウトの際にも、私たちより後から来たお客さんに先に対応されたためにだいぶ待たされました。そうした細かな対応で、ちょっと後味が悪くなったのが残念でした。

露天風呂がおすすめ

貸切露天風呂が特に気に入りました。泉質が素晴らしいです。建物は古いのですが清潔です。少しカビくさいのが気になりましたが、色々と手を尽くされているのも分かりました。また、スタッフの対応も良く心地良かったです。お料理はもう少し頑張って頂きたいですが、決して悪くはないです。

階段での移動が大変なこと以外は完璧でした！
温泉よし、食事よし、部屋よし、応対サービスよし、これまでに泊まった箱根のホテルの中で一番良かったです。
また利用させていただきたいと思います！

素晴らしいお湯とサービスでした。

素晴らしいお湯でした。お部屋も広くて昔の雰囲気を残しつつリニューアルされており本当に快適に過ごすことができました。貸し切り風呂もたくさんありましたが今回は一つだけ利用させていただきました。他の貸し切り風呂は次回からの楽しみに取っておきたいです。
大浴場は時代を感じますがそれがいい味となっていいお湯を引き立ててくれていました。大浴場はとっても気に入り２度も入らせていただきました。

家内と二人で利用させていただきました。まず驚いたのはスタッフの方の気配り、感じのよさです。若い方からベテランの方にいたるまで親切、丁寧な対応でした。館内の地図が分かりにくかったのでお風呂の場所を聞いたところ、貸切露天風呂を勧められ、バスタオル、フェイスタオル、ミネラルウォーター２本をセットで用意していただきました。温泉も源泉かけ流しで船室もよかったです。また、フリードリンクのバーコーナーがあり、生ビールもワイン、日本酒、焼酎、ハイボール、フレッシュジュースなどが無料でいただけます。食事も質・量ともに満足でした。
ぜひまた来ようと思います。

Really wonderful hotel with private natural osen (in the suite we had). The public osen was also very nice with all the amenities. Dinner and breakfast was served very much like a 5star restaurant, but very traditional Japanese so that is something you have to like. The hotel is very old, boasting as one of the oldest, so it’s pretty authentic so is a bit musty in the common areas. However our room didn’t smell musty and was very clean and felt new. We loved the natural Osen. Would visit again - it definitely felt like a retreat…very peaceful.

Traditionelles japanisches Haus, etwas abgeschabt.

Für ältere Menschen nicht geeignet, da dieses traditionsreiche Haus viele steile Treppen hat und man mit den ungewohnten japanischen Sandalen leicht zu Sturz kommen könnte. Für junge Paare sicher romantisch, man kann privat-Onsen buchen, das Wasser war nicht klar - er war allerdings im Freien. Das Essen (Kayseki Dinner und japanisches Frühstück) waren so-so.

The stay was super amazing from the get go. The hotel staff being the limelight, from when we entered the hotel till we exited, they were nothing less than fantastic, polite, efficient and courteous. In terms of the property itself, really amazing rooms, you can book your own private onsen, dinner and breakfast are included and they were very adjusting of our dietary restrictions (including vegetarian). We didn't even notice how the day went by and our stay finished. I will highly recommend it to anyone.

The most memorable experience. A stay at a Japanese ryokan is the ultimate Japanese experience, it’s not cheap, but this inn is worth every penny. You are treated as part of the family from the moment you check in. The included dinner and breakfast are exquisite, a feast for the eye and culinary journey. This ryokan has larger rooms than the other ryokan I have been, and I love the private onsen option if you are not ready for the public Japanese onsen experience. The only complaint is that I cannot stay longer.

I would love to rate Matsuzakaya Honten more than 5 stars, 10000 stars for our time here. It was the highlight of our trip. One of the most magical days I have ever seen when we arrived in the pouring rain. It is tucked away in the mountains, peaceful, relaxing, and beautiful. The staff are wonderful and I loved making friends with Suzuki and our server. They are all kind people who make you feel welcome! The baths are all beautiful and the food exquisite. An easy bus ride down to Lake Ashi for some wonderful sight seeing of Mount Fuji. I hopefully will return one day to matsuzakaya honten!

Amazing experience

From the check in to check out the entire experience was wonderful. The staff are so friendly and helpful and the facilities are excellent.

The room was very big and traditional, and the private onsen was relaxing and always available (we used it twice). Dinner and breakfast was also very traditional and a fun change from ramen, sushi, etc. The grounds are very well maintained and photogenic.

Is definitely worth the trip to stay here and it’s way to find using the bus from Odawara Station.

Amazing Ryokan

Recently, I had the pleasure of staying at Matsuzakaya Honten in Hakone, Japan, and I must say, it was an experience to remember. Nestled in the heart of Hakone’s picturesque landscapes, Matsuzakaya Honten is a perfect blend of traditional Japanese hospitality and modern comfort.

From the moment I arrived, the staff’s warm welcome made me feel like royalty. Their attention to detail and eagerness to ensure a comfortable stay was commendable. The room was a delightful surprise, marrying traditional Japanese aesthetics with the luxury and convenience of modern amenities. Sleeping on a futon in a tatami room was an authentic experience that transported me to a bygone era of samurai and shoguns.

The onsen (hot spring bath) deserves a special mention. Soaking in the thermal waters with a view of Hakone’s serene nature was therapeutic and a highlight of my stay. It was the perfect way to unwind after a day of exploring the nearby attractions, like the Hakone Open Air Museum and the Owakudani Valley.

Dining at the hotel was another unforgettable experience. The kaiseki dinner, a multi-course meal featuring local and seasonal ingredients, was a culinary journey through Japanese cuisine’s flavors and traditions. Each dish was a work of art, both in presentation and taste.

I would absolutely visit again if I were to travel back. 10/10

One of my best hotels experiences ever!

The experience we had was simply fantastic! The onsens are so nice, the food is amazing and the rooms are beautiful. The staff made sure we had everything we needed, and were so friendly and welcoming. The complimentary bar was great as well. I had high expectations after reading the great reviews and it was better than I even thought!

Ready-to-wear가 아니라 haute couture같은 온센료칸 경험을 원한다면 반드시 가봐야 할 숙소입니다. 부연설명이 필요없네요. 그냥 최고 수준의 디테일을 느끼시면 됩니다~^^

몇가지 팁을 드리자면 (1)private open air bath가 포함된 방도 좋겠지만 아니라도 문제가 없습니다. 1일1회 private bath가 가능한 욕탕(독채에 룸 포함)을 한시간 무료로 대여해 줍니다. 5개가 있는데 거의 사용 안해서 쉽게 부킹 됩니다. (2)오다와라(종점)-하코네 유토모-숙소-호수(종점)를 왕복하는 시골 버스들(5개 회사)이 거의 10분 간격으로 운행됩니다. 탑승 시 번호표 뽑고 내릴 때 계산하는 시스템입니다. 번호표에 적힌 숫자가 운전석 옆 모니터에 뜨면서 숫자가 함께 나오는데, 이 숫자가 내리는 정류소에서 지불해야 할 버스요금입니다. 탑승지점에서 멀어질수록 이 금액이 계속 올라가니 확인하고 내면 되네요. 번호표를 내고 지폐를 투입구에 넣으면 동전이 나오는데 거스럼돈이 아니니 주의하세요. 기사분이 거기에서 거스럼돈을 계산해서 돌려줄 겁니다. 내리는 위치는 144번 stop으로 히가시-아시노유입니다. 그냥 아시노유가 500미터 옆에 있으니 조심하세요. 144만 외워도 됩니다. (3)근처에 마트가 없지만 음료수를 챙길 필요는 없습니다. 미니냉장고 꽉 채워져 있고 온센 곳곳에 음료수 비치되어 있습니다. 콜라 빼고요 ㅎ (로컬 탄산음료수는 2병 있고 맛있습니다!) (4)로비 라운지 및 근처에서 각종 주류(생맥주, 사케, 와인, 위스키 등) 무료로 제공됩니다. 안주는 없어요 ㅎ (5)오마카세는 어디서나 있는 호불호 수준이고, 재료의 질은 상급입니다.
