緑豊かな環境に恵まれている。
施設とサービスが非常に良い。
3泊滞在する関係か、朝ご飯が毎日似ているので、少し飽きた。

立地は最高。立地は。

大原・三千院の夜と朝の写真が撮りたくてこちらを利用しました。
三千院門跡そばで立地は最高。
部屋数は9室。
静かで温泉も気持ちよかったです。
ですが、仲居さん(スタッフ)達の対応はがっかりでした。
チェックインからチェックアウトまで流れ作業。
なんだか冷たいなぁと思いながら、気のせいかもと話しかけてみても笑顔はなし。
質問した内容にはこちらが満足できるような回答ではなく、また、夕食、朝食の時間を聞かれるときにも笑顔はなし。
対応には歓迎されているというような温かさやホスピタリティは感じられませんでした。
逆になんだか探られているような嫌な感じを受けたのは 私がひとり旅だったからでしょうか。
そしてチェックアウトの際には年配の女将と思しき女性に「お一人ですか？おひとりはさみしいですねぇ。」と言われました。
これまで国内外ひとり旅をしてきましたが、まさかそんな風に宿の方から言われるとは思わず驚きました。が、そこで初めて 私は宿泊中 ずっとそんな目で見られていたんだなと初めて気づきました。笑いながら「夫も私もそれぞれひとり旅が好きなので満喫してますよ」と伝えると「旦那さんはひとりでお留守番ですか。」と返される始末。もう何も言うまいと黙って支払いを終わらせたら、見送られることもなく宿を後にしました。
ミシュランガイド☆獲得とHPには書いてありますが、何をもって獲得できたのか疑問です。
高い金額を支払いましたが 立地以外に何にその価値があったのかは未だわかりません。

Me and my partner had an amazing experience here. The workers were extremely helpful and made wonderful hosts. We felt taken care of at every step of the way. I would love to come back any time I am in Kyoto.

This is by far the most beautiful and relaxing hotel we stayed at while in Japan. Highly recommend this experience. The pictures do not do this place justice. It’s stunning and so well kept.
The Hot Pot, Shabu Shabu dinner was also the best meal we had during our entire trip!

We had a great stay at Seryo for one night. The service and food were outstanding. The only downside is that the rooms can get cold quickly, but the futon and comforters were very warm and there’s also AC if you need it. Just a heads-up: this is a traditional Japanese inn with public baths separated by gender, and bathing is done nude.

The highlight of staying in Kyoto. This ryokan is going towards more of the countryside of Kyoto in Ohara but it is definitely worth spending a couple nights in. Yes it is farther away from the main tourist temples but honestly it is so much nicer staying here away from all the tourists and finding hidden gems within Ohara where there are hardly any tourists. The rooms themselves were so serene and peaceful. The onsens always feel amazing especially after long days exploring temples and gardens. The staff and service were beyond accommodating and friendly. My wife had dietary restrictions and they were more than happy to accommodate. Breakfast and dinner is included with each night which is so lovely not having to worry about what to eat for dinner when it is already provided. Our room had a nice view of the garden and koi fish swimming around. I can't say enough about how great it was to stay here and I would highly recommend to anyone I know to stay here. You will receive a unique Kyoto experience from everyone else if you stay here and will never forget! Thank you to the staff, you have made our visit to Japan incredibly memorable.

Wow! What an incredible stay! Probably the best experience of our entire trip to Japan. The owner was incredibly kind and welcoming, even showing us different local matcha varieties used during the meals. If you are visiting Kyoto on your trip to Japan, I would HIGHLY recommend staying at this property for the full Ryokan experience, equipped with a beautiful Onsen, Yukata, and local shrines in Ohara. 10/10

Authentic Japanese experience

This hotel is actually far from Kyoto, so be prepared for a very long ride from either the train station or airport. The food was excellent and the room was very basic. Comfortable, but no frills. For the price I was expecting something a little nicer. If you want an authentic Japanese experience, this place is perfect.

The ryokan was absolutely wonderful. It was authentic Japan culture and style in an a breathtaking location. The food was an elaborate 11 coarse meal that was delicious Japanese cuisine. The whole stay was a a glimpse of Japanese culture and tradition. I highly recommend for the cultural tourist.

One of the best stays I had in Japan. I would recommend it to everyone and would gladly visit this Ryokan again. All of the staff members are incredibly kind and attentive. Their hospitality and service were thoughtful and attentive. Most impressively, I left my coat in the closet, and they kindly shipped it to Osaka for me. I am truly grateful for their thoughtfulness! The room was very comfortable, and the outdoor hot springs were absolutely amazing. The Kaiseki dinner and breakfast were both incredibly delicious. Thank you for giving me such wonderful memories to cherish.

We had a beautiful, relaxing, and very special few nights at Seryo - the property is gorgeous and spotless; the staff is friendly and accommodating; and the food was out-of-this-world! It’s obvious the owner and everyone at Seryo put a lot of love and care into both Seryo and the guest experience. We can’t wait to tell all our friends and family to come to Kyoto and stay at Seryo.

덕분에 잘 쉬다 갑니다

아주 친절한 직원분들의 환영을 받으며 숙소에 왔습니다. 체크인하는 정원 공간의 잉어도 멋있고 조용해서 편안했어요. 공용 욕탕은 4명 제한이라 동행한 사람들과 함께 사용하려면 타이밍을 잘 맞춰야 해요. 개인탕이 있는 방을 예약한 덕에 사람이 많으면 방에서 잘 이용했습니다! (밤에 날이 맑아 별도 많이 봤어요)
저녁 가이세키 코스, 조식 모두 훌륭하고 짜지 않은 맛이라 싹싹 잘 먹었습니다. 첫번째에 있는 사케랑 같이 식사했는데 좋았어요.
다음에도 기회가 되면 또 묵고 싶습니다!

The property has some of the most stunning views and the staff were exceptionally kind and helpful. The food was magnificent and me and my wife loved our private onsen. It gave a much needed break from an otherwise busy vacation.

If you are looking for a traditional ryokan and a more remote area, this is the perfect place. Although it is about 45 mins from Kyoto train station, you will not be disappointed. Upon arrival, we were immediatelty greeted by the staff and welcomed with matcha tea while our bags were taken to our rooms. The rooms were very clean and beautifully decorated. Our room featured a private onsen overlooking the mountains. It was absolutely breathtaking. Both dinner and breakfast were amazing! We stayed one night and spent the next morning walking around the small town which was quite quaint and adorable. We would definitely stay here again!

The property was beautiful. The bath, gardens, and room were all amazing. The meal offered was really good and they give you a welcome drink and snack. There are shops, places to eat, and shrines nearby with an opportunity to walk to a waterfall. The staff was very nice and attentive. Free shuttle to the nearest bus station. Amazing and peaceful stay. I highly recommend staying here.

Everything at this Ryokan was top notch. Excellent service, delicious traditional meals and immaculately clean facilities. The staff is very kind and helpful- they speak English well and have all answers to your questions. Onsen is beautiful and very clean

Es un lugar precioso para ir a descansar y disfrutar de una auténtica experiencia tradicional japonesa.

El personal es súper atento (aunque solo hay una persona que habla bien inglés), la mayoría de personas que atienden son señoras mayores y son muy lindas, van explicando todo lo que te dan o sirven.

La comida es deliciosa, nosotros pedimos de cena el menú tradicional japonés con anticipación y fue exquisito con 10 tiempos de comida, cada uno con una sensación distinta y al mismo tiempo sorprendiéndonos más, la forma de emplatarlo fue un wow!

Si escoges la opción de ryokan tienes que saber que no tiene ducha privada, hay que ir al onsen público para tomar el baño. En un próxima vez escogería la opción de onsen privado. Amamos que hay un lounge frío, para después del onsen donde puedes relajarte aún más y tomar agua, una cerveza o saborear un helado (están incluidos entre lo que pagas).

Ellos te invitan a utilizar la pijama japonesa y la Yakuta, con esta podes ir a cenar y queda muy linda, nosotros al otro día por la mañana nos hicimos fotos en el jardín que es un espectáculo, así que salen muy lindas.

Muy cerca de Ryokan hay templos y bosques para ir a caminar y vale la pena perderse un poco por ellos, hay paisajes preciosos. También por el camino hay puestos de comida y especies locales.

Mi esposo y yo disfrutamos cada minuto, 100 x 100 recomendamos esta experiencia. ♥️

Beautiful remote location with a stunning property and close to a shrine. Excellent meals. Staff were incredibly kind. A little hard to get to, I suggest a taxi. We had the kaede suite with private hot spring, highly recommend. Beautiful private garden. I do wish the room was warmer in the morning and had more insulation.

This was truly a 10/10 experience. The staff were so incredibly kind and helpful, the space with the private outdoor onsen was picture-perfect, and the food was the best we had in our two weeks in Japan! We were truly blown away with our experience from beginning to end.

A true gem of an experience

Loved this family-owned and operated Ryokan. The attention to detail and service was impeccable. The meals were an experience onto their own - absolutely delightful and delicious. Wonderful location to hike and visit temples near by. Secluded and serene location in the mountains.
A little hard to get to from Kyoto, but worth the effort. Wish we had stayed longer.

I cannot recommend this place enough! It was so relaxing, beautiful, and the staff was incredible! They offer traditional and local breakfast and dinner that rivaled Michelin star restaurants! It was our first Ryokan experience but definitely will not be our last now. Such an incredible place!

깨끗하고 정원도 정말 이쁘고
직원분들도 친절하셨어요!!
밥은 한국인 입맛에는 잘 안맞을 수도 있는데
(참고로 저 비위약함..)
느끼하거나 가쓰오부시 국물 좋아하시면 잘 맞을거에요
주변에 산젠인 호젠인 볼것도 있구요!!
힐링하다가 왔습니다 온천도 너무 좋더라구요ㅠ

근데 오보로 방에 묵었는데 에어컨/히터기 소음이 너무 심해요..
저는 잘 잤는데 제 남편은 한숨도 못잤다고하네요 ㅠ_ㅠ

Stunning is only half if it!

Overall: 12/10! Food: superb, cleanliness: absolutely spotless, hospitality: the best I have ever experienced, views: breathtaking. The accessibility going up the hill can be a bit rough but there are taxis that can take you up and drop you off only a few steps from the doors. We arrived from downtown Kyoto and had no trouble finding where we needed to go. There are shops and temples all around the Ryokan (all within a ten minute walk), stunning trees and flowers along the way. We were not afraid to try out the sleepwear and a traditional Yukata for dinners, which is a big thing considering we are picky about our clothing. We were lucky enough to have a room the had it's own Onsen and garden. We spent a lot of our time drinking tea and eating sweets by the garden, spending quiet and peaceful time with each other and taking care of our bodies with "our vacation from our vacation". I have a food allergy and every meal we shared at this beautiful location was specifically catered towards my needs; I had no fear that there was cross-contamination or something was not translated properly. We felt at home the minute we walked in. We were respected and gracefully shown how everything in the Ryokan worked. This was our favorite part of our whole trip. Beautifull view of not only the country side but of the Japanese culture as well.
We would come back to Japan just to stay in this Ryokan again.

環境非常清幽寧靜，但又與大原的主要景點很相近。晚餐及早餐食物水準及服務都是一流。房間、澡堂及溫泉環境也很整潔。很值得一試的溫泉旅館。

唯獨溫泉的空間相對小，每次只能容納4人。但由於本身房間數目不多，所以也不會出現要排隊等候泡溫泉的情況。

다시 오고 싶은 료칸

오하라 산젠인 바로 앞에 있는 고급 료칸입니다. 7일간의 교토여행에 지친 몸과 마음을 쉴 수 있었던 숙박이었습니다. 가이세키 요리나 노천탕, 조식, 그리고 방에서 바라보는 멋진 정원이 지친 심신을 달래주었습니다. 다시 오고 싶네요.

Beautiful Setting; Wonderful Food

We loved our stay at the Seryo Ryokan. The setting was perfect and the service fantastic. It had been many years since I was last in Ohara and it brought back memories. The staff went out of their way to address our needs. But the best thing about our stay was the superb dinner and wonderful breakfast. What a treat! We definitely would like to return to Ohara and stay here again.
