接客は素晴らしく、夕朝食とも美味しかったです。連れは今まで宿泊した宿の中でも上位にあげる程、満足だったようです。
露天風呂の片方に虫が沢山浮いていて、すくい網も置いてあったし、仕方ないのでしょうが、直ぐに出る羽目になりました。お部屋のお風呂の方が良かったです。

　スタッフの教育が素晴らしく皆さん一堂に感じ良くゆっくりと寛ぐことができました。

楽しめました

食事も美味しく、サービスもよく、快適に過ごしました。
大浴場のマッサージ椅子がコロナ対策で使用禁止なのが残念でしたが、仕方ないですね。
ラウンジが使えないかわりに、コーヒーマシンと冷蔵庫にビールやソフトドリンクが提供されてました。部屋の露天風呂に入って、冷蔵庫からハートランドを一杯。最高。

記念日に最適

結婚記念日と主人の誕生日を兼ねて泊まりました。コロナ対策をしっかりされており、大浴場はフロントに電話をし5名以上の利用者がいなければ使えるという形でした。2回了解しましたが、どちらも貸切でした。とても良かったです。
また、お部屋のミニバーは全て無料。ビール2本とお水2本、オレンジジュースが2本、ペリエが2本とどれも万人受けするものでありがたかったです。
お食事も美味しく、ボリューム的にも良かったです。
また訪れたいホテルとなりました。

日本ならではのホスピタリティ

海外のホテルはよく泊まりますが、国内、しかも温泉旅館は今回が初めての滞在でした。今回の目的は癒しだったので、景色がよく、食事が美味しく、個室の露天風呂がある部屋が条件でした。こちらの旅館は私の条件を全て満たしてくれて、接客もさりげなく、温かみのある応対でとても心地よかったです。食事は手が込んでいながら食材の持つ美味しさを引き出す繊細な味付けで、器、盛り方も非常に美しく素晴らしかった。お肉が苦手な私への配慮もしてくださりありがたかったです。

部屋の露天風呂は眺めもよく最高に気持ちが良かった。自分の好みの温度に調節ができたのも熱いお風呂が苦手な私にはとても良かったです。

総合的にとても満足でしたがいくつか気になった点がありました。

他の方のレビューにもありましたが、部屋の床やテーブル、細かい部分の清掃が少し足りないかな。。。
旅館に関するアンケートも書こうかと思いましたが、ペンが用意されていなかったのでこの辺も配慮も少し変えるとさらに良いかと思います。
ベットリネンが漂白したような匂いがあり、硬めの素材だったのでもう少し柔らかいものにするとさらに快適かな？と。

食事は私からお伝えしたお肉無しのリクエストには対応していただけましたが、昨今、世界でも食べ物のアレルギーについての質問が徹底されてきていますので、確認してもいいのではないかな？と思いました。

またぜひ伺いたいと思います！

総合的には大満足

先日は大変お世話になりました。

エントランスで靴を預け館内の移動は畳敷きの床暖房でとても快適でした。
部屋の天井には立派な梁があり飛騨の雰囲気が出ており、とてもくつろげました。
部屋の露天風呂は温度も調節できて日頃の疲れが取れました。
食事処は半個室になっており、他のお客さんの会話もほぼ聞こえてこないので、程よくプライベート感がありました。
味付けはとても繊細で、食材の味も出汁も上手く活かされており、量も丁度よく、とても満足のいくものでした。
花扇敷地内にある専用エレベーターを登ったところから徒歩1分で早雲山駅に着くのでとても便利でした。

ただ勿体ないなぁと思ったところで、細かいですが部屋のテレビのリモコンやトイレのリモコン、大浴場の着替えを入れる棚の上など、丁度目線にくるところが久しく掃除がされてないなぁと感じました。
あと、アメニティにもう少しこだわりがあれば良かったと思います。
とはいえ、ラウンジや部屋も飛騨の木をふんだんに取り入れ、食事もこだわりが感じられたので、総合的には大変満足出来ました。

The whole experience was magical - the private onsen with the sunrise view, the public onsen atmosphere, the meals were so good, the staff super friendly, and our room (again with our private onsen) was amazing. My stay at Gora Hanaougi was exceptional, hands down the best hotel experience of my life. The hospitality was incredible from start to finish, and the property itself feels beautifully tucked away in the hills of Hakone but really easy to access via the cable car and private elevator. The full kaiseki dinner was outstanding, every course was thoughtful and delicious, and the traditional breakfast was just as impressive. I stayed in the suite which had an incredible view, and it was perfect: peaceful, spacious, and designed for pure relaxation. An unforgettable experience.

This is an extraordinary place. The attention to detail is stunning. The staff excellent. The facilities, such as the onsen, and certainly the rooms leave nothing to be desired. And all with great taste and discretion. Even with all this excellences, the kitchen stands out, delivering perhaps the most perfect meals i have ever experienced. And I've experienced a few. A completely wonderful Ryokan.

They gave a quick tour of facilities upon check-in, even an escort to the room. Carried baggage from driveway and deposited to our room. I was the only one in the public bath at 5pm. The meals were amazing. While unable to accommodate gluten free diet with traditional cooking, they were very kind in informing which dishes had gluten. 5/5 you should stay here

My wife and I loved our stay here. The in room onsen, massage services, and skin care products had us feeling rejuvenated. The staff are accommodating and incredibly good at what they do. I’d recommend this stay to anyone coming to Hakone.

This was one of the most amazing hotel experiences I have had. The room was large and had a beautiful view with the onsen overlooking the mountains. Gora Hanougi is a special place. It is a traditional Ryokan with 5 star food and service. We called for a pick-up at the Gora Station and were picked up promptly. The hotel is up a steep hill and you could take an incline railway, but the auto pick-up was very convenient. Our room was large with private outdoor onsen (bath), sitting area and two comfortable beds next to eachother that seemed to be at least a king size. There is a nice shower with amazing water pressure and a separate toilet area with a typical Japanese toilet (warm seat, bidet). The room comes with Hakata's (kimonos) and pajamas.You eat in a private dining room and the meal is intricate and has many courses. Some of the food is unfamiliar but worth a try. The breakfast is almost as big as dinner. The staff at the front desk, in the lounge and in the dining room was wonderful. The location is excellent--steps from the incline railway (you actually can take a private elevator there) and also steps from the "Ropeway" to Lake Ashi and with views of Mt. Fuji. We stayed for two nights at Gora Hanougi which was a perfect break between Tokyo and Kyoto.

Our stay at Gora Hanaougi was absolute perfection. After five busy days in Tokyo, this was the perfect way to unwind and experience the traditional side of Japan. Every detail was thoughtfully considered — from the warm welcome to the beautifully prepared meals that felt like a true culinary journey. There was so much incredible food, and it was such a special opportunity to try everything!

We were even able to enjoy a relaxing in-room massage before dinner, which made the evening feel even more luxurious. The room was stunning, the view was breathtaking, and the private onsen was pure bliss. The staff’s attention to detail and kindness made us feel so cared for throughout our stay.

Truly a five-star experience — peaceful, authentic, and unforgettable.

Fantastic Onsen with big bedrooms and low number of bedrooms. Great levels of service and attention to details.
One must like Japanese cuisine otherwise it becomes rather difficult.
The hotel is at the end of the Hakone Ropeway which makes it convenient to reach. However it is in ‘the middle of nowhere’ so not the easiest of places to travel to with luggage.

Relaxing, beautiful, and exceptional service.

Loved this as our choice of Ryokan. The property and public baths were beautiful and well maintained, with a very relaxed feel. Our room was large and overall comfortable; just keep in mind the bed is not traditional western. We had a private bath in our room as well and the water was just as hot as the ones from the public bath.

The food and service were exceptional. They offer a shuttle pick up service from the train station that came in handy as it was raining.

From service to the amenities, this onsen was fabulous. They take great pride in what they offer. The room itself was spacious with relaxing view. Private onsen on the balcony is big enough for 2 people. We opted for the full board stay. The meals were detailed with traditional kaiseki preparations. Dinner and breakfast were a grand spread from hot to cold dishes. Everything was prepared with intricate details. There’s a spoon for every dish! Have a stay and enjoy the amenities.

Our stay was an incredible one night experience that we would highly recommend to anyone. The room was so beautiful and the views of the mountains were spectacular. The food was very traditional and a great experience too. All the staff were friendly and extremely accommodating. If you are able to spend more than one night here, you would be doing yourself a favor. Having your own personal onsen on the balcony was a very nice added bonus.

Uber and taxi are few and far between so if you want to take a car to a station book in advance or you will have to take multiple trains. The property is exactly as advertised. Gorgeous rooms. The staff was very nice and the service was 5 star. Authentic japanese experience.

We made a mistake and booked room for 2 people instead of 4. Room was fantastic and could accommodate 5. When we arrived and confirmed we made a mistake, we were surprised that the same room for 4 was exactly double the price. Understanding it included breakfast and dinner, we knew it would not be just marginally more expensive, but double was a real surprise. So at that price, we rented a second room. I do not blame the hotel for that. But be aware. Otherwise it is paradisiaque!

Let me reiterate by saying it’s really unfortunate that I can’t give this establishment a 5 star review all around because the staff, service, food, message treatments, view, general etiquette were all 5 star caliber, especially the staff.

However, room cleanliness is a big deal and our room was not only dated, it was dirty and just not taken care of, which is shocking in Japan where everyone takes so much pride in making sure everything is clean and set up. Splatters on walls, dusty corners and air conditioning vents, mold smell, mold in the shower and around doors/windows, dirty uncleaned private onsen on our balcony, I can go on…I know it was a hot time and there was moisture in the air but when we complained, they came in and bleached the shower walls and then everything smelled like bleach. Major upgrades needed and a better cleaning staff.

On the bright side, Breakfasts and dinners were Michelin star caliber, staff was on top of it and extremely attentive but for $650/night, I was hoping for a clean nice room with a clean onsen pool to actually want to go into.

Great overall but they don’t help make restaurant reservation (the restaurant operator only speaks Japanese and I don’t). Also they wouldn’t help make a shuttle reservation for transport to the train station, perhaps it’s too complicated requiring personal info that they don’t have. Other hotels in different countries can help with reservations. Other than that it’s one of the best hotels I’ve stayed at.

Everything about this stay was perfect. From the moment we were picked up at Gora station until the moment we were dropped off the service was exceptional and every smallest detail was considered. The food was superb, the venue was gorgeous and the room and private Onsen were out of this world. We couldn't have asked for a better time and hope that we get the opportunity to stay again in the future.
