高野山 宿坊 不動院

静かで、精進料理も美味しかった。勤行、阿字観が朝食前に無料で体験でき、お得です。住職が英語に堪能なので、海外観光客にもおすすめです。

期待どおりでした

宿坊体験は2件目です。
道から少し奥に入ったところにあり、駐車場の桜が大変きれいでした。2階のお部屋までの階段はとても急でしたが、トイレ、洗面台があるので、階下に行く必要はないです。結構、お隣の部屋の音はよく聞こえました。
お食事は450年前の建物でいただきました。精進料理は見た目にも美味しかったですが、期待度が高すぎたのか、朝ごはんの方が美味しかったように思いました。
朝のお勤め、阿字観体験もできてよかったです。

施設自体は古いが、部屋は新しく改装されており、とても綺麗。
掃除も行き届いている。
部屋にはウォシュレット付きのトイレと独立洗面台。
両方自動で動く。
暖房は埋め込み式のエアコンとヒーター2台。
空気清浄機が真新しかった。
階段が少し急だったが、特に不便な点はなし。
食事は、夕飯付きがおすすめ。
近隣に飲食店が少ないのもあるが、こちらの夕食、とても豪華で見ても食べても楽しめる。また食事を摂る場所も素晴らしい。

素晴らしい宿坊です

多数の口コミの評価どおり、いえそれ以上の宿坊でした。精進料理のバランス、味付けも結構でした。
係のお坊様がたは、仏道修行のうちとはいえ、さぞかし大変な事でしょう。ありがとうございました。

とても親切丁寧なご対応で大変素晴らしい御宿坊でした。　惜しむらくは、お部屋がカビ臭く、一部畳にもカビが… 新しい施設ですが、除湿にてご対応頂ければ最高でした…

おだしの美味しい精進料理とても満足しました。
特に450年前の建物とは思えないほどの庫裡で食事を頂けたのにはびっくりしました。
お庭も評判通りで素敵でした。
是非再訪したいです。

お部屋の清潔さ、お食事の良さは抜群です。外国の方に配慮してか、正座をしなくて済むのは楽でした。お風呂もまだ広さが十分でしたが、もう少し利用時間の幅があると嬉しいです。また、朝も利用できるとさらに助かります。全体的にはとても素敵な宿坊で、次回も利用したいです。

高野山の中心近くにあり大門、奥の院どちらにも徒歩圏内で又ステキな精進料理
で楽しめました。
初めての阿字観と朝の勤行も参加し自分の生き方をあらためて考える事ができました。

料理が美味しい

丁寧な接客でとても感じが良かった。お部屋は広くて清潔感があり、洗面所とトイレが付いていることも良い点です。
食事は最高です。揚げたての天ぷらが出されて、抹茶塩をつけて頂いたのが美味しかった。温かいものは温かいうちに食べられるのは嬉しいですね。お料理の見た目も器も綺麗で楽しめました。
共同のお風呂はとても清潔で、ゆったりと湯船に浸ることができました。
宿から壇上伽藍や奥之院へも徒歩で行けます。早朝の奥之院御廟へと続く道は観光客がほとんどいないのでとても静かで、清々しい気持ちで散策できました。
地元の人が、「夜の壇上伽藍は人が少ないし、根本大塔や大門はライトアップされるのでとても美しく、夜９時にお坊さんがつく鐘の音が、心に染み入るのでお勧め」と教えてくれました。
ただ、門限が２１時だったためにそちらへ行けなかったのは残念でした。

毎日の忙しさから逃れ、別世界へ。お香の香りに包まれた素敵な2日間でした。特に、朝の勤行とそのあとのお説教は心にしみました。

We were so glad we made it to Koyasan during our Japan adventure. Our stay at the Fudouin was very nice, a very peaceful retreat from the hectic pace of the cities.

Excellent, but overpriced

Everything was excellent, people are very welcoming, nice and kind. The prayer in the morning is not to be missed.
The food is vegan, and it is ok, but surely not the best in Japan.
Overall, I think the whole experience is overpriced.

Despite Fudoin being a temple, the accommodations were truly excellent. Both the staff and the monks were extremely pleasant and helpful. It struck a balance of being respectful to the space with luxury.
We opted for a garden view room and weren't disappointed. For the small extra cost we got a private toilet and bath, the most space we've had in Japan, and an unbeatable view. We spent more time in the room than expected.
The food was great and the dining room and dinner rooms were both beautiful and felt spacious. The 9p curfew was later than many neighboring locations meaning we had time to do the night tour in Okonuin, which was very special.
The morning ceremony was also well balanced for westerners. It was in Japanese and English where appropriate and let the audience participate.
Koya was lovely and not overcrowded (3rd week of April). Refreshing after coming through the tourist crush in Kyoto. Overall a great place to spend time.

A very unique one night only experience. The property is immaculate. The dinner was a wonderful tasting of many things I had never tried, all very good and filling. Breakfast was not as good. The hotel staff was very accommodating and kind. The morning prayer was peaceful and beautiful. The only complaint is the sleeping mats are paper thin and extremely uncomfortable, even after placing one on top of the other with all the blankets it was nearly unbearable. Neith my wife nor I got more than two hours of sleep. It's too bad, because we have slept in other Ryokan style places that were traditional but not painful. For this reason I would advise asking in advance for something better to sleep on.

Perfect experience. Best toilets in Japan. Heaters were very effective. Smoking room has air purifier and heater. Traditional room was satisfactory. People were utterly kind. Public bath is comfortable.

Amazing experience! Our room was beautiful and the hotel is in a great area for walking aroind Koyasan. I used the onsen and had it to myself. Both the dinner and breakfast meals were amazing, as was partaking in the morning prayer

The temple is lovely and the area is rich with history. Dinner and breakfast were delicious and ample. The room was very comfortable for our party of six, with beautiful views, a private bath, and large sitting area. The beds are futons, so they may not be comfortable for those who have back/physical issues. The morning prayer service is a must. The monks and staff were wonderful. A memorable stay!

Visit to (modern) Koyasan

Stayed one night at this Shukubo. The place was beautiful - temple, garden, room, surrounding area. My husband is a Vegan, so he was very happy with the meal.

However, I found it to be a little dissapointing. Shukubo evolved during the past 20 years, and now catered to foreign visitors. The meal was all vegan, but not the old fashioned Shoshin food, they were too modern and too catered to foregners. The morning service was also modified to suit foreigners. The place has lost its authenticity, along with much, much higher price. We will not be going back to Koyasan again. I liked the old Koyasan in the past.

Excellent service and very low key. I got up early in the morning and wanted a coffee. I went to the front desk and asked if they had coffee and a man directed me to a coffee making machine that was excellent. I wanted a second cup and needed change the man helped me out. Later I went to the morning service and come to find out the man helping was the reverend of the temple! Super nice! Morning service was excellent!

Absolutely loved staying here! Food is excellent, the room is comfortable, and I enjoyed attending the morning service. Koya-San was also a highlight of my two weeks in Japan and my stay at Fudou-in really enhanced that experience.

Die Übernachtung im Fudō-in würde ich unbedingt empfehlen! Alleine die Umgebung, das Gebäude und die typisch japanischen Zimmer sind es wert. Das Abendessen und auch das Frühstück sind hervorragend. Das Personal sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit.
Wir haben an der morgendlichen Zeremonie teilgenommen. Hier wurde sehr viel erklärt und alle Gäste wurden in die Zeremonie eingebunden.
Koyasan kann von hier aus perfekt zu Fuß und mit dem Bus erkundet werden. Klare Weiterempfehlung!

Absolutely wonderful experience!!
The room and all of the facilities were exceptionally clean.
Dinner and breakfast were delicious. The various flavors, textures, and colors were a real feast for the senses.
The morning ceremony was very interesting and meaningful. It started the day off on a very serene note.
Koyasan is a very peaceful, sacred, and beautiful place, and Koyasan Syukubou Fudou-in was the perfect place to stay.
I will definitely return the next time I visit Japan.

Endroit unique service et expérience à améliorer

Un endroit très beau , nous sommes arrivés En retard 1900 au lieu de 1800 l’heure maximum permise , vous savez c’est un long voyage se rendre la et le chemin n’est pas facile .

À notre arrivé le souper n’étais plus disponible , nous n’avions pas réservés et les restaurants étaient presque tout fermés ; nous aurions aimé s'avoir sur le site car nous pensions avoir un bon souper le soir

J’ai été chercher des trucs au 7 eleven et je suis revenue à 21 hr 10 et les porte de l’entrée étais barré impossible de rentrer car tout ferme à 2100 une chance que ma conjointe étais resté à la chambre et qu’on avais du réseau j’ai pu la texter ,ils nous avais dit que les portes fermais à 2100 mais bon je ne pensais pas être pris dehors vraiment , j’assume ma responsabilité pour cela

Nous aurions aimé avoir une visite des lieux où une petite histoire mais notre visites c’est résumé à notre chambre et assister à la prière le lendemain . C’est une expérience unique et nous comprenons que c’est un temple ou une maison avec lieu de prière mais c’est aussi un lieu d’hébergement où on nous charge un montant très dispendieux alors je m’aurais attendu à un meuilleur accueil et service .

L’endroit du petit déjeuner est super et la présentation des plats superbe mais peu de contenu même si nous savions qu’il étais végétarien

WONDERFUL.

I cannot say enough great things about this experience. My husband and I generally stay in nice Western-style hotels while traveling, so we were a little wary about trying something different. But we loved every minute we spent here. Fudouin is ancient and traditional, with a few perfect modern/updated touches in the rooms that made it feel luxurious. The monks were kind and accommodating, the food was delicious (and so beautiful), and the morning ceremony is not to be missed. It's also a quick walk to the Okunoin cemetery, which is definitely worth a visit. Thank you to Fudouin for allowing visitors on your beautiful property, and for giving us an experience we'll be talking about forever -- or at least till our next trip back.

Zen Night in the Mountains

Such a relaxing evening. The dinner and breakfast are amazing, do NOT miss out. The room was so clean and the temple was beautiful. The onsen was relaxing. Takes a second to get up to Koyasan so plan accordingly. Loved the morning service as well. The monks were extremely welcoming and patient.
