京都の町屋の雰囲気が味わえて良かったです。ただ、他のお客の音が若干気になりました。

ホテルと書いてあるが実質ゲストハウスみたいな施設です。内部は綺麗でしたが、スタッフの対応が果たして値にあっているか疑問です。
フロントのスタッフは客室内の施設や資材の使い方、管理状況についてまったく知らず、上司と思われる者の対応を待つことしかできませんでした。
追加のタオルはないかとホテルのマネージャーにスタッフを通じて相談したところ、ベッドの下に予備があると言われましたが、そこには何もありませんでした。
恐らく普段客室の資材状況を確認・管理していないのでしょう。
私もサービス業をやっているので、教育の無さにがっかりせざるを得ませんでした。

客室事態はベッドの布団もよく、キッチンが使えてよかったです。

祇園から近く非常に便利な場所で、古民家を改良し京都を感じる事ができ満足いく旅行が出来ました！
強いて言うなら2階の離れ？にあるお風呂は外からは見えないフィルムを貼るかせめて上側の窓ガラスだけでもぼかし窓風にするか等して頂けたら幸いだと感じました。

歯ブラシや着替えはありません。また、お風呂にも桶等もないので、日本人向けには少し配慮足りないかも。部屋はゆっくり過ごせてよかったです

まずロケーションが最高でした。祇園、四条に近いのでどこへいくにも便利でした。
また、施設は快適で綺麗に整えられており、問い合わせにも迅速に対応してくださりました。

This house was in a great location! We were able to walk the Gion District as well as cross the river and shop the Nishiki Market area. For others who might consider staying here, please know that the house is small. If you are tall or big, this might not be a great choice. You also can hear EVERYTHING from the people staying below. As simple as a sneeze can be heard upstairs. So if you want privacy, or you are a loud person, this location might not be for you.
Booking and communication was great and super easy. Lots of directions on how everything works which was nice. Again, such a great location.

Memorable place to stay!

This traditional Japanese home was exactly how we envisioned it. It was clean, the floors were heated, an unexpected surprise. Very clean and comfortable. Right in the heart of Gion, so many restaurants and things to see and do. Great for couples or families, highly recommended it!

Just ok. Yes the location is great. But the place itself is kind of underwhelming for the price. Nobody checks you in and after a long day of travel it’s a bummer to have to figure everything out yourself without any human interaction. The place is smaller than the pictures look. The set up is just not that comfortable for the price. The open air tub isn’t that useable as it’s in a bedroom and not a bath area. The toilet and shower space is small and the outdoor table is unusable in colder seasons like November. It’s also awkward that one bedroom is outside the rest of house and other bedroom shares wall with toilet & is super small. The washer/dryer worked great!

Great area close to shrines, restaurants, and subways. Not enough privacy shades in 2nd bedroom separated from main living area.

Me gustó mucho porque es como vivir en tu propia casita japonesa.
Uno mismo tiene que atender la limpieza, la organización, preparase sus alimentos (tiene lo suficiente en su cocina).
Estuvimos en el segundo piso, es una excelente vista a uno de los templos.

Let me start off by saying the location was excellent. Mostly walkable to Major sites. That was the great thing. The communication was on point as well. Now the negative, the Japanese style bed was like sleeping on rocks, literally. My hips were bruised from sleeping on my sides. This room was separated by a walkway outside. This means anytime you needed to use the bathroom you have to walk outside. This really sucks if it’s in the middle of the night. Additionally it was raining, a lot, so that was a negative. The rooms were tiny, ceilings low. Pictures advertised weren’t on point so this was deceiving. The main area living space was very small so we could barely enjoy being together when taking breaks from long hikes in the heat. There was a small spider in one of the beds. It was muggy and humid indoors. There was a lack of pillows and just overall comfort. I don’t like to be a negative person and say bad things but I have to be fair to others with fair warning.

We loved this Japanese style suite! The room is delicately renovated that can accommodate up to 4 people. It’s also relaxing to have a quite time at the Japanese style room.

An amazing machiya style house located in the heart of Gion. We spotted geishas walking down the street while wandering around the neighborhood. Super interesting experience and two thumbs up for the relaxing bath salt and deep bathtub!

Everything about this property exceeded my expectations from the style and quality of the place to the peace and quiet, given it was in the heart of the Gion quarter. I also enjoyed the amenities (including access to a washing machine which was a joy in the middle of a trip!) and the excellent communication from the manager Yuko, who was kind enough to organise a taxi for us when we were leaving. I'd definitely rebook this place.

Conveniently located nicely well furnished Machiya that successfully matches modern comforts with a traditional feel. Staff is kind and attentive. The Machiya was organized and clean. Check in and chekout were hassle free. The whole stay was quiet and comfortable. A real pleasure and would stay again. Recommended.

The location is quite good. Since it is located near the hot spot, it is very convenience for buying and eating. The hotel is alos quite near to the bus and train station.
The environment is quiet and the experience of living there is great. The staff is helpful when I am in trouble and this is a hotel that I will strongly recommended if staying in Kyoto.

Great place

It is a beautiful place that is close to everything, has plenty of space and a fluent check in/check out process. Highly recommended! The host replied email really fast and the whole communication process is very smooth. We stayed at the second-floor. The first floor entrance does have a lot of mosquitos so be careful. Overall we are very satisfied with the place.

Bel endroit atypique

Si vous souhaitez vivre à la japonaise c’est l’endroit idéal. C’est un endroit adorable niché au milieu des arbres. Un passage obligé sur une petite terrasse pour passer d’une chambre à l’autre. L’ensemble est très bien climatisé. L’endr Est idéalement situé au cœur du quartier Gion à côté d’un temple. Il y a même une kitchenette pour le pdj. Petit bémol la présence de moustiques mémé le matin au pdj à l’extérieur.
Nous n’avons pas eu l’occaSion De rencontrer notre hôtesse mais elle nous a réservé une table au restaurant suite à notre demande. Ne pas oublier la chambre fantastique aux grandes baies vitrées mais qui ne permet pas de faire de grasse matinée. Notre fils de 16 ans a adoré cet endroit !

Traditional Japanese experience in great location!

This place is located very close to tons of shops, restaurants and attractions. The Kiyomizu-dera is only a 15 minute walk, subway is close and a few smaller temples are around the corner. The place was very clean and the staff was extremely helpful before arrival. They also provide recommended taxi services and restaurants which made our stay very pleasant!

Hermosa "casita típica japonesa"

La atención de la gente del Café donde se retira la llave fue muy atenta y cordial. El ryoakan es precioso, tomamos el "departamento" que esta en el primer piso y da a los jardines. Esta muy bien equipado y ambientado aunque a nuestras costumbres faltaban algunos detalles, por ejemplo: repasadores o servilletas de papel, cafetera y tostadora de pan par el desayuno. La ubicación un lujo. Nos resultó excesiva la calefacción por piso radiante en los baños.

très bel appartement (attention à la réservation c'est l'appartement du haut qui a les baies vitrées, celui ci n'a qu'une lumière indirecte ) très confortable, décoration très belle et très soignée, belle salle de bain, matériaux magnifiques, on s'y sent bien.

staff was wonderful and accommodating, especially after our stay when we forgot something there; Machiya Maya is gorgeous with a historic/authentic feel and a few contemporary upgrades. location is perfect with shops, restaurants and temples very close by. PSA for taller/larger guests: watch your head on the beams and doorways!

Beautiful place in the middle of Gion

Beautiful traditional place. Two bedrooms. One is on the other side of the balcony. That bedroom has a bathtub. Wonderful. The second bedroom is on the other side of the place and it is smaller but nice too. There is a kitchen with a big fridge and everything you need. It also has a washer/dryer for clothes. The bathroom is small but clean and beautiful. The place is Close to everything. 5 minutes walk from the closest station. We loved it. Great experience. We would highly recommend this place.

Lots of Character

This is a beautiful apartment with gorgeous wooden floors, 2 bedrooms and a separate toilet room from the shower which is super when you are there with 4 people. The entire apartment is very clean and the shower is wonderful----a rainfall shower that is very satisfying. The washer/dryer works well and overall everything is great except for the 2nd bedroom which is in the dinning area that transforms into a bedroom by throwing down futons onto the tatami mats. The bedding is very thin which makes for a very uncomfortable sleep. They also only give you 1 pillow per person unless you ask for more. The western bed in the small other room is comfortable. There is also a lack of space to put your clothes----no cabinets or dressers and only 1 closet. The area is good, fairly close to Gion.
There was a huge issue with water leaks coming from the apartment above and when we tried to tell someone about it there was never anyone around. The cafe on the corner is the caretaker and they were not open when we would leave in the morning or when we returned in the evening. The leaks were really bad in the bathroom soaking clothes that sat on top of washer,
Overall I would return as long as I had a little thicker futon and more pillows!
