リニューアルされたということで、とても綺麗でした お風呂が大きくてリラックスできました！
アクセスも京都駅から歩けるし、目の前が東本願寺でロケーションもよい！ 素泊まりプランで予約しましたが、近くに美味しいお店もたくさんあるので食事には困りませんでした 宿のスタッフの方も皆さん優しくてよかったです また京都に来たら利用したいです

No curfew, but they lock the front door after certain time. It would be excellent if they expand the bath hours after midnight. It’s a great place/service in general though.

安宿という感じが…

京都の駅周辺はビジネスホテルばかりで、京都らしい和の感じのホテルがとても少なく、その中ではリーズナブルなので仕方ないのでしょうが、部屋が写真とは違いとても狭く、布団を二組敷いたらほぼいっぱいな感じのお部屋でした。3時にチェックインしたのですが、お部屋に入ったら既に布団が敷いてあって、雰囲気が壊れた感じがしました。門限が11時だかだったので、観光していて慌ただしく戻って来たので、時間を気にせずに観光ができたらと思いました。

Everything was amazing here! We checked in late after a long day of travel and were immediately greeted with such kindness. Everything was clean and the staff was courteous and helpful. They were eager to answer our questions about the city and offer recommendations for our stay. My husband and I were blown away and will come back on our next trip to Kyoto, as well as would recommend this Ryokan to any of our friends! Thank you, Yamadayan Ryokan, for an amazing stay!

Wish we stayed for longer as this Ryokan was amazing. Although we only stayed for one night, the staff were incredibly welcoming despite us being gaijin and the room came prepared with traditional tea and sweets.
The ryokan is opposite a large temple which was amazing to have in the doorstep.
We will definitely return (hopefully for longer)

Lovely and cute ryokan

Super beautiful and cute ryokan, we loved it so much! The staff was lovely and kind and gave us great recommendations both for Kyoto and for our next stop in Osaka. Their breakfast was amazing and everything was just so wonderful!

We loved our stay here. The traditional room was beautiful and clean and what we were looking for in terms of an authentic experience. Really liked the traditional tea set in the room.
The green tea is lovely. There was also a different delicious snack left for us each day. The highlight of the stay was the staff who are so friendly and accommodating. They gave us amazing restaurant recommendations not only for Kyoto, but Osaka too. Told us what to expect with the weather, took photos of us and were generally super nice. We didnt try the baths.

Ett stycke Japan från förr

Ett mycket vänligare mottagande jämfört med de tre andra hotellen som visserligen var i Tokyo. Skönt bad med bra instruktioner för hur man gör onsen. God frukost med personal som visar vad man ska äta med vad. Det uppskattas.
Bra läge om man vill vara nära Kyoto stationen. Glad överraskning att det hängde traditionella kläder i garderoben.

This was a really wonderful location, easy to get to from Kyoto station. The staff were very nice and incredibly helpful. And the hotel itself was very pretty and I would happily stay here again.

Our stay here was absolutely lovely. All of the staff is incredibly nice and accommodating. Language barriers were almost zero as the staff all have pocket translators. 10/10 would recommend.

The staff give this a home vibe that cant be beat by checking into any other regular hotel. I will definitely be coming back for a longer stay at this Ryokan in Kyoto.

We had an incredible experience. The staff were very warm and accommodating. The ryokan itself is located so close to Kyoto station that the location made for the perfect home base during our entire Kyoto trip.

The bathroom in our room as well as the onsen are on the smaller side, but still fit our needs. The kaiseki dinner and breakfast meals were all well-prepared and delicious. The sake sommelier was so friendly and knowledgeable that I ordered a drink even without initially planning on having one. Overall, we had a sincerely enjoyable and relaxing experience.

Traveler’s tip - we fortunately are able to speak and understand Japanese, so we got around just fine. While the staff does speak some english, pure english-speakers or travelers from other countries may find it slightly harder to navigate.

We highly recommend staying here. The service is above and beyond and we felt very welcomed. The room was very clean and the futons were surprisingly comfortable. We reserved the private bath when we checked in and there was plenty of availability. The kaiseki dinner was fantastic, but make sure you come hungry as it's A LOT of food. Breakfast was also great, and again, there was a lot of food. It's definitely worth experiencing a traditional ryokan at least once.

The people running the inn were so sweet and kind. They were very helpful in explaining where everything was and how the onsen works. The rooms are traditional and spacious and the futons were super comfortable. The onsen area is smaller than expected but still clean and relaxing. They also give you yummy treats from Kyoto everyday too. The only thing is that it’s not the most convenient spot to get to the popular locations but there is a beautiful temple across the place.

We only stayed here for one night, but loved the hostess. We were immediately greeted with enthusiasm and tea! Definitely recommend staying here. We got the room with the view so you could see the reflection of the heart shades. My partner went into the onsen and enjoyed that as well

It was a lovely ryokan to experience. We stayed in a Superior Japanese room, 4 in our family and it was spacious to sleep us all in, as we were out most of the day as it's an easy walk to Kyoto station and surrounds. Our hosts were incredibly attentive and gracious, making our stay welcoming and easy.
Recommend and will stay there again when in Kyoto.

Very kind, accommodating staff. Chika went out of her way to explain how to use the facilities, as many guests may not be aware of Japanese protocols. The room was large, and futons were comfortable. We enjoyed the public bath - good long soak in the hot springs. Great location, short walk to the Kyoto train station. Highly recommend!!

Absolutely amazing experience! Location could not be better, yet you feel like a local living in a good neighborhood. Staff was more than friendly, always extremely helpful and trying to make guests have a memorable experience. Ask for the hearts room if you’re a couple looking for an extra dose of romance. <3

Amazing Ryokan with public baths and traditional rooms. The hosts were amazing, the most attentive and helpful hotel I have ever encountered and couldn't do enough to help. Good understanding of English and excellent value for money. Fully recommend with a 10/10. Thank you!

Really enjoyed our stay at this traditional ryokan! First off, the staff is incredibly friendly - from the minute you check in they’re super welcoming! Has a mom and pop feel to the place. Every day as we left to explore the city, an older lady would come out and greet us and give us hand warmers to ensure we would stay warm (we visited Kyoto in January). How sweet is that! The place is incredibly clean and tidy. Loved how traditional and minimalist our room felt. The onsen was the cherry on top. They have a small onsen and a larger one with views of a garden (men and women switch off every day between the two to ensure equal access). 5 min walking distance to Kyoto station and right across from a cool looking shrine. Would absolutely stay here again if we came back to Kyoto!

一到旅館，旅館員工便來接待，還細心叫我坐下 ，不用在前台站著，然後又詳細地跟我介紹旅館。
還帶我看看溫泉沿場的環境。

因為旅館沒有電梯，服務員會幫忙把行李搬到房間，還貼心說退房的時候把行李放在房間，服務員會幫忙拿下來。

旅館環境雖細小但挺舒服的

溫泉浴場男女湯會每日互換，唯一不足是其中一個浴場太細小了，如果有其他人一起泡會挺尷尬的。

如果來京都又想住溫泉旅館又不想太花費，這是個不錯的選擇

Excellent Service & Accommodation

Excellent service provided by hotel staffs. Upon check-in, staffs explain every details about accommodation. Gave recommendations on places of interest. Showing us around the property and bring us to our room too. Property is convenient and walking distance to convenient stores and kyoto train station as well. Will highly recommend this property to anyone who wish to experience a stay in ryokan.

Great traditional hotel

The hotel was in amazing location and it had a lot to offer. The staff were really great with communicating and helping with whatever was needed. Also I recommend doing the traditional breakfast because it was delicious.

Great location and super friendly staff

Staff was outstanding. Super helpful and really nice. This is a great location. 10 minute walk to train station and across the street from a major Buddhist temple. Hotel is very clean and well cared for. It was a bit expensive. Rooms are small and fairly basic. Baths were very nice.

We spent 6 days here and it was a great home base for exploring Kyoto and for using our JR Rail Passes to do day trips to other cities.

개별 화장실과 세면장이 없어 아주 불편함. 공동 욕탕이 있긴하나 5~6명 정도 좁게 이용 할수있는 크기였음. 쿄토역이 1Km이내에 위치하여 편리함.

Generally OK but a bit underwhelming

This ryokan is a fine place to stay for a short trip. The staff are very friendly and the room was fine but it neither has the amenities of a modern hotel nor the real charm of a classic ryokan. I'd heard lots about the amazing hospitality in ryokans but here it was good but basic (e.g. I understood that often rooms will be set up with the table for tea when you arrive then later the beds will be laid out, here the beds were ready laid out and there was just a kettle for you to make your own tea if you wanted to). The location is very good, close to the station and a subway route, walkable to Gion too.
