とても静かで川のせせらぎに癒やされました。
客室の露天風呂も温度調節も問題なくとても気持ちよかったです。

アメニティは幾分かはトップランクのホテルに比べれば落ちますが
十分だと思います。
食事も色々楽しめもう少し少なくても十分な量でした

Great location. Female staff wonderful but male staff could use remedial training in attentiveness. Dinner setting fabulous and made perfect by arrival of fireflies on cue.

Fantastic Ryokan experience, from start to finish. Only 30 min away from Tokyo and yet very secluded.

Note that Momijiya consist of two different accomodations: the main building up by the road (Honkan Sansou), and a more exclusive annex down by the river (Bekkan Kawa No Iori. This review concern the latter.

Shuttle bus service is offered from Hanazono station, among a few others.

This was a unique experience! It was my first time at a ryokan so I can only comment from my one encounter. But this location felt unique and beautiful, being secluded in wooded hills while remaining a short bus ride back to Kyoto. It also had both private open-air baths and a small public bath as well.

The staff at this inn went out of their way to accommodate us, from the waiting shuttle at the bust stop to helping with our bags, walking us through what to expect at check in (despite language barriers on our part), how to use the amenities in our room, and pouring us green tea. Staying in a traditional Japanese style room had the sense of what older times may have been like there, in both design and functionality. And in our room selection we slept on comfortable futons over a tatami mat floor with plush duvet coverings.

As for the food, there were many courses and it was beautifully prepared and served. Not all of it was familiar or what I was accustomed to, but part of the enjoyment was trying different things and I really appreciated that. If there was one thing I missed, it was that our stay in February ended up very cold, so I wish we could have explored the outdoor areas. A reason to visit again someday~ : )

This is a gorgeous property and really peaceful. The staff service was wonderful and attentive. We lost our bag on a public bus and the staff drove us to the police station to file a report, giving us a couple hours of their time, and were helpful throughout. The room was great, if a little cold in January, but they provided heating and thick blankets. The private bath was wonderful, especially after they taught us how to heat the tub.

We had a nice time at this more traditional stay. Most of the staff was very nice and helpful, and we really enjoyed the focus on traditional practices and meals. We also really loved the private onsen in our room. They provided us with a kimono and tea, and we had a private dinner in our room which was really fun.

- We thought the rooms could benefit from an upgrade. There was a bad odour coming from the bathroom at all times. I think picky eaters might have difficulties with the meals.

We stayed one night and for us it was enough. Overall I would still recommend this ryokan for the traditional and intimate experience!

이 가격에 굳이? 시설이 굉장히 오래되었고 음식이 별로임.

별관은 100년이 넘은 전통을 가진 숙소라서, 오래된 절에서 나는 듯한 다다미냄새가 건물과 방 전체에서 납니다. 모든 시설이 깔끔하게 유지되고 있지만 오래되었기 때문에 최신식 호텔을 좋아하는 분들께는 비추합니다. 다만 방이 8개 정도 뿐이라서 프라이빗 한 것은 좋았습니다. (식사 시간 외에는 다른 사람들과 마주칠 일이 적음)
가이세키 정식은 정말 다시 먹고싶지 않았습니다. 일본 음식에 익숙하고 잘 먹는 편인데도 한입씩만 베어먹고 모두 남겼습니다. 그냥 맛이 없습니다 굉장히... 아침은 밥에 김 싸서 미소국이랑 먹을 정도? 음식이 전반적으로 차갑게 굳어있고 입맛에 맞지 않았습니다.
6월에 가서 그런가 저녁식사 후에 마이코와 사진을 찍는 시간이 있었는데 굳이? 싶었습니다.
6월 말이라서 운 좋게 본 반딧불이는 잊지 못할 경험이었으나, 반딧불을 감상하는 내내 불필요한 나레이션이 나와 몰입을 방해했습니다. 그냥 분위기 좋은 전통음악만 나왔어도 좋을 듯합니다. 반딧불이 좀 많이 나오기 시작할 때쯤 불이 다시 켜져서 아쉬웠습니다. 개인탕이 있는 방으로 예약해서 개인탕 이용은 정말 좋았는데, 식사와 시설에 대한 아쉬움이 개인탕으로만 조금 상쇄되는 기분이었습니다. 공용 탕을 이용한다면 굳이 이 료칸을 이용할 이유가 없어보입니다. 참고로 저녁은 별관+본관 고객이 함께 냇가에 모여서 먹습니다. 식사 경험만 하려면 비싼 별관보다 본관에 묵어도 될 듯합니다. 저는 한 번 경험한 것으로 만족합니다.

Lovely traditional ryokan hidden in the mountains. We requested for the morning bus shuttle at JR Hanazono station so that we can explore the serene surroundings prior check in. Ryokan is charming, very clean and well maintained. The Arashiyama Bamboo forest is just a few stops from Hanazono station, so do include that in your itinerary.

Absolutely incredible!! We stayed here for Valentine’s Day and it was perfect. The service was incredible, and we loved the open-air bath! The food is very traditional and so if you’re from the West and not very adventurous, it might be a little difficult to finish everything. (I wasn’t able to finish all of it and they were very polite about it.) Would absolutely stay here again!

An unforgettable traditional Ryokan experience. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The ryokan was quaint and clean. A shuttle bus picked me up at Hanazono station and brought me to the ryokan and then brought me back the next morning. Dinner is served in the room and breakfast is served the next morning. The public bath was excellent and I had the whole thing to myself. I can’t recommend this property enough.

If you want to know what it feels like to be transported to a place that feels like a Miyazaki film I absolutely implore you to book your stay in June. You will see the lighting bugs dance at the riverbank while eating the most delicious Wagyu meal ever. June is the rainy season but the rain only immerses you more into this stunning environment with some truly beautiful shrines in walking distance. The staff is so kind and accommodating, with fantastic service. We can not wait to come back, we only wish we had booked more than one night, two is ideal.

位於高雄山的旅館，風景優美，門前的小吊橋和小河絕對是值得拍照。旅館服務細心，建議事先聯絡旅館安排接送（否則從市中心前往，路途很遠）。古色古香的旅館有公共溫泉（稍有點小），但沒有私人風呂。早晚餐是傳統日式料理，值得一試。

另外可早起步行前往神護寺，有國寶級的千年藥師佛像，大片楓林和庭院，能清靜地參觀。

너무 잘 힐링하고 왔어요!!

주변 개울도 너무 맑고 쓰르라미 소리도 운치있고 정말 행복하게 힐링했어요. 원래 씻고 바로 로션을 바르지 않으면 바로 건조한데 정말 물이 좋아서인지 로션을 안발라도 촉촉할만큼 물이 좋았어요.
직원분들도 정말 친절했어요.
본관에 개인 온천이 없는 방을 예약했었는데 그 날 투숙객이 저희 포함 2팀이어서 남녀 공용탕을 각각 팀에게 트라이빗 탕으로 배정해주셔서 굉장히 편하게 지냈어요!
샬짝 조히에게 않마잤뎐거뉸 뱎이 너뮤 뎌운디 한ㅅ ㅣ간 뱐을 개율 옆 평샹에셔 멱었던것과 넘 건걍한 음식 맛 정도?!
그 외에는 정말 만족했어요!!

The instruction of the shuttle was not clear so lead to delay in return.
We thought we had private bathtube, but it was public so had to get extra charge for private bathtube. The staff's English was not good so was little confusing.

Magical ryokan experience with a kaiseki dinner by the river and a maiko performance. The room was basic, but had all the comforts we needed. I did not book a room with a private onsen, but the public onsen was lovely - spotless, very hot, and no one was there so it was private! The setting up in the mountains by the river was absolutely enchanting. The service was also outstanding - everyone was warm and friendly. An unforgettable and highly recommended experience.

環境優美，但私隱保護度不足。 是否真温泉？

我們在這店住了2晚，原本在網上搜尋京都的「私人露天風呂」，希望在大阪的行程內加入浸温泉的原素，怎料最後經其他住客分享，發覺這裡浸的不是真正的温泉水，我真的很疑惑，若在訂房前發現，我會先行查究，若不是温泉我必定不會買房，但現在入住了，就唯有好好享受不影響旅遊心情吧。
我住的私人露天風呂房間，戶外的隔離木板不足，感覺隔離房間的人很容易進入我房的範圍看到我們浸泡，而且前面的樹籬笆太矮及很疏散，我們在浸泡時遠望是有屋可見，感覺私隱度不足，會走光喔！

Traditional stay and great experience

A fantastic location in a secluded part of the Kyoto mountain area. Close to some spectacular temples with stunning views. Hospitality was A++ and very traditional. Great experience meeting and talking with geisha also. Highly recommend.
