車で行ったが場所もわかりやすく全体的に古いが清潔感あり静かであった。あえて言うと、暑い日だったが到着時に、部屋の冷房スイッチが入れてなく、蒸し風呂状態。スタッフが「弱にしておきますね」と言ってスイッチ入れてくれたが、こちらは、汗だく情態であることを察してほしかった。

近くの川のせせらぎが聞こえるが、それ以外は静かでとても落ち着けるホテルでした。

バスルームあるけどボディソープさえない。ドライヤーもない、何もない…おまけにシャワーの水量がまるで醤油差しくらいに少ない。冷蔵庫は旧式の自動精算タイプなので私的のものは何も入れられない…と部屋の中だけ時間が昭和で止まっているようでした。

とても丁寧な対応でした

緑に囲まれ川が流れる音も聴きながら穏やかに過ごせました。
支配人さんが親切に近隣の湯巡りのご案内、外での食事の提案などもしてくださりました。
サービスも子供の浴衣のサイズ合わせをお心遣いいただき嬉しかったです。
館内に男女ともに24時間入れる露天風呂がありました。
山にかかる雲海が少し見られました。
男性側の方は内湯がすでに露天になっていたようで景観もよかったそうです。
お風呂あがりにアイスが食べられて子供達も満足でした。
近くに渋温泉、千と千尋で有名な金具屋もあり、夜はこのご時世でも浴衣を着て射的を楽しめたり湯巡りができました。
ホテルの横に子供が遊べる公園があり、1年生の次女は喜んでいました。
8月の盆休みで来ましたが、エアコンも付けず涼しく過ごせてとてもエコで快適でした。

とても満足

雪が見たいと家族が言ったので、外観やホームページは、地味なイメージでしたが、評価が良くお安いプランがあったのでブラリと利用してしました。結果、大満足でした。スタッフの対応が控えめだが暖かく、風呂からも広い清潔な部屋からも川岸の雪景色を楽しめ、風呂も露天風呂も広くは無いが清潔で、ご飯も美味しかった。古い旅館の良さとリニューアルされたトイレや風呂の清潔さが両立して、しかもお安い料金で、満足できる旅館でした。

湯田中温泉の川の対岸にあり、人気の渋温泉の温泉街にも歩いて15分ほど。温泉街ではないので、正直言って寂しいけど、連休で2食ついて9000円。コスパを考えると、部屋の広さ、大浴場、露天風呂付きで、お風呂は24時間いつでも入っていいし、登山の帰りの私達には充分でした。

値段が安かったので、期待していなかったが、とても良い宿だった。スタッフは皆感じが良く、必要なものは全て揃っていた。設備は古いものの、清潔さに特に問題はなかった。部屋からの眺めもよく、他の部屋の音も気にならなかった。温泉は内湯、露天共にちょうどいい温度で、気持ちが良かった（男湯の方は熱くてあまり入っていられなかったとのことなので、タイミングにもよるかもしれない）。食事も十分な量があったし、美味しかった。ご飯と汁以外全部冷たかったという口コミがあったが、そんなことはなく、温かい料理もあり楽しめた。

お宿宿泊にハマりそう

いつもは車中泊で、ナイター滑ってギリギリ営業している温泉で入浴を済ませていました。今回お宿を取って24時間入れる温泉が付いていて、しかも広く快適だし、素泊まりだったから、時間の制約もなく、とても充実した時間を過ごせました。宿の方々は親切で、部屋は築年数が経っているから昔ながらの風情ですが、トイレ、バスは新しく、広い部屋でゆったり快適に過ごせました。

とても人の良さを感じたホテルでした。
料金もお手頃だったのでまたぜひ利用したいと思えるホテルでしたが、生理など何かしらの事情があって急遽温泉に入れなくなってしまった人の対応策として、部屋の浴槽にもシャンプー、ボディソープなどアメニティの充実をしていただけると嬉しいです。

騒音注意

構造が古いのか音の反響が著しく、上の階の騒ぎが筒抜け。
酔っ払い等はホテルの責任ではないが、地震かと思うくらい音や振動が伝わり、
深夜に部屋を変えて貰うハメになりました。

深夜で人手が足りないのか新しい部屋の寝具のセットも自力でした。
子供と泊まったのですが、下の階に足音か響かないかとても気を使って疲れました。

施設は古いものでしたが、全体的に清潔で受付の方がとても感じがよかったです。
お風呂の泉質はとてもよかったのですが、熱くてなかなかゆっくり入れませんでした。
アメニティも充実していますし、タオル、浴衣もありました。
外国の方もいらっしゃいましたが、とても静かに過ごされていました。
また、利用させていただきたいと思います。

評価が良いとか、部屋の案内写真を見て2泊予約しましたが、期待はずれでした。
朝食、夕食共に特長のないものでした。部屋の畳の傷や染み、汚れが目立ちました。部屋の前の廊下掃除を8時過ぎからされてはたまりません。人に奨める気にはなれませんでした。ただ、お湯は良かったです。

素晴らしいホテル

素晴らしいホテルです。便利な場所には、駅からだけでなく、自由時間を過ごすことができるエリアにあります。明らかに、建物は新しいものではありませんが、不快な気持ちを引き起こすものではありません。ホテルのルームは清潔で快適で居心地が良く、特にバスルームを配するのが好きです。バスルームは少し狭いくて、とてもきれいです。スタッフはとてもフレンドリーで丁寧です。何か問題がある場合、スタッフはいつでも援助を提供する準備ができています。食事はおいしいです。朝食時の食べ物の選択はとても豊富で心のこもったものです。朝食後、数時間は食べたくないです。私は出張でこの都市に来て、今からこのホテルのように高価なホテルでさえも価格と品質を組み合わせることができないため、常にこのホテルにのみ滞在します。私はいつも友人にそのホテルを勧めます。

志賀高原への玄関口のホテル、ちかくに温泉郷あり静かに過ごすにはよい

低価格設定（部屋での料金設定）なので大人数の宿泊には便利。
一方で施設が老朽化しており、部屋の節々まで掃除が行き届いているとは思えない。
価格帯を考えればしょうがないのかもしれない。

2 nights in Nagano

Stayed 2 nights to rest and recover before going to Tokyo. The hotel was a short walk from the station with idyllic scenery with beautiful Sakura and mountains.
The personelle were super nice and helpful. They provided a free bus ride to the snow monkey park.
The room was spacious and comfy. The hotel dinner and breakfast were amazing. Highly recommend the dinner.
The onsen was really hot which took some time getting used to but I think that’s part of the experience.

Only real downside were the hard pillows which seem to be a theme in Japan.

Overall really enjoyable stay and we highly recommend going here.

Plenty of parking lot. Very nice female staff member who spoke some English and provided a Yukata for our 6 year old. Large, excellent room with amazing views. Value for money. Green tea provided. Had mostly private onsen experience ie hardly anyone around for both the outdoor and indoor onsen when we visited in early April 2025. Only few minutes drive from Snow monkey carpark. Of the 9 places we stayed in Japan, was our favourite.

Great blend of modern amenities with traditional ryoken hotel. Welcoming and hospital staff. Beautiful surroundings and atmosphere, specially during winter. Close to snow monkey park.

Just wish there was more hooks to hang the towels.
Overall great stay and highly recommend.

This place is charming with great authentic Japanese food options with half board. Not everything is new but it works as it should. The onsen is amazingly hot with mineral water from source. The is also a sauna and an outdoor hotpool. There is also a cafe on the ground level with burgers, fries, tacos and drinks if you do not want Japanese food. .

Incredible service and an absolutely amazing hotel. The staff were amazingly attentive and helpful, provided transport for us to see the monkey park and get us back to town in time for our train back. The evening meal was absolutely incredible and such a lovely experience, and the Onsen was outstanding. We loved our stay and would definitely stay again with absolutely no hesitation.

It's an older property but very clean and well-maintained. All the staff are friendly and food was great. The onsen was the hottest one we had during this trip to the Nagano area (3 different hotels). Our room faces the river so if you open the window, you can hear the river and mini waterfall. We saw the most amazing sunset at the bridge right in front of the hotel. Hotel is also conveniently located within 15 minutes from the Snow Monkey park, which makes it easy for us to beat the tours by arriving early.

O atendimento é excelente e os funcionários muito simpáticos. Há possibilidade de transfer desde a estação e para o Parque dos Macacos da Neve de Jigokudani. Além disso, o hotel oferece uma boa lanchonete. O quarto em que ficamos era amplo, com colchões confortáveis e muito limpo. Se retornarmos à região, certamente nos hospedaríamos novamente.

Great Rokyan/Onsen Hotel.

If you want to stay in the mountains near the snow monkey this is where you should stay! The staff was amazing! They have a shuttle that will take you to the snow monkey park and also take you and from the train! And the room and the onsen were such an amazing experience! If your looking for more tradition and local Japanese experience, Stay here!

We really enjoyed our stay here. The room was huge with a lovely view towards the mountains. The staff were really helpful and picked us up and dropped us off at Yudanaka station. Breakfast is VERY traditional Japanese, so was a very authentic experience. We walked to the monkey park and back, which took around 1 hour each way. Well worth the visit as the monkeys were amazing. The walk will take you via Shibu Onsen village, which was like going back in time. The walk into Yudanaka was 10 mins, where there were around 10 restaurants.

Hotel staff was friendly and went out of their way to help our group. We arrived late so could not visit the snow monkey park and we had to leave in morning to catch train back to Nagano. They planned an itinerary for us so we could see the snow monkeys and still get to train station on time. They even drove us to park, picked us up and dropped us off at station! Great service
The dinner was exceptional with fish caught on that day. Breakfast was also very good.
I highly recommend this hotel and will go back to this hotel the next time I visit Nagano.

The service and amenities were amazing. I was met at the station with a free shuttle to the Ryokan and the staff at the desk were very friendly and could provide service in both English and Japanese. The dinner and breakfast was phenomenal and the view out my window was breathtaking! Staying here allowed me to partake in some must-do things in Japan such as wearing Yukata and using the Onsen. I’m so happy I chose this place and got to experience everything for such a reasonable price! A huge thanks to the staff for everything :)

They made us feel just like at home here. The staffs are so friendly and accommodating. The location is a bit inconvenient since we are traveling with my 76 y/o mother, it is about 20min walk to town. However, the staff offered to drive us to town to pickup dinner in a snowy night. I would stay here again.

It was a bit close to the train and bus station. They offered to drop me off at the Snow Monkey Park so it was a relief and convenient. And they dropped me off to the station when I was about to go home. If you really want to experience japanese culture you should stay here because their rooms are big and its a traditional japanese room and their japanese breakfast and dinner was superb! I really recommend you to try it! They had an indoor and outdoor onsen! It was very relaxing! This is one of the best hotel I’ve ever stayed! 😍

Lovely staff

The staff was lovely and very accommodating. They drove me to the monkey park, let me leave my luggage there, and even drove me to my next hotel at Shibu Onsen. The onsen was divine.

The place is a little run down and I found the pillows a little uncomfortable, but it was very reasonably priced, the breakfast was delicious, and it was a perfect base camp for exploring.

The hosts were so friendly and helpful. They picked us up from the station in Yudanaka, took us to the Snow Monkeys and drove us back to the station when we were leaving. They also always checked on with is to see if everything was ok. The Onsen facilities were excellent, the open air Onsen was great -1 air temperature made the very hot Onsen very welcome

This hotel is an older more traditional hotel but the staff go out of their way to make you feel welcome and are looked after. They are great really, such lovely people.

You get a traditional Japanese breakfast and can bath in their lovely Onsen. We really enjoyed the experience and may be back next time we are I. Japan.

Charming Ryokan facing river

This is a charming ryokan and the hosts were very friendly. They served breakfast, dinner and overall very delicious which we enjoyed. It is value for money. The surrounding is very beautiful too. They also helped us to courier our baggage to a hotel in Tokyo. We recommend you take the dinner option as surrounding are not many cafes.

This is property is a bit dated in term of furnishing and deco but it make it up with the most attentive staff I have seen in Japan. They certainly experienced and very good with guests. The breakfast was excellent. We stayed for three days and the menu changed daily.
The property is a bit further from Yudanaka area but shuttle van is available and free. We especially love the onsen. The outdoor onsen has one of the best commanding views of the valley. It was snowing when we were there and the park in front of the hotel turned into a winter wonderland. Our kids really enjoyed themselves playing in the snow-covered park. For the price and what it offers, it definitely well worth it.

Traditional Japanese Ryoukan at it’s best!

This ryoukan was a great find! The service was their greatest strength, greeting us immediately upon arrival, allowing us to check in very early, taking us by van to the Monkey Park and train station, and making sure we knew how to get back by bus. The staff were very kind and helpful.

The room was a typical ryoukan tatami room with a nice “sitting room” with a view. For those of us used to sleeping on beds, just be aware that sleeping on the floor on futons may not make for the most comfortable night’s sleep. The futons did seem a little harder than usual.

The food was amazing; but very traditional Japanese ryoukan meals. It was about as far from western-style dining as you can get. (Don’t expect waffles for breakfast!) It was a great culinary experience.

The onsen (hot spring baths) was great. Inside and open air options. My wife did complain about hers being too hot, but the men’s outside bath was just right. (The inside one was pretty hot though.)

I highly recommend you stay here for a wonderful, traditional Japanese ryoukan experience. It’s convenient to the Monkey Park and Shiga Kogen ski areas (though a bit of a long bus ride to the latter). Skip the more expensive hotels for the real deal!

A very pleasant place / Endroit très accueillant

Convient parfaitement aux familles, grande chambre. Très propre, nouveaux kimonos chaque jour. Shuttle service every time we needed to go to Yudanaka downtown. Very friendly staff, d’une grande gentillesse. Avoir un onsen à domicile (intérieur et extérieur) était un régal dont nous avons largement profité. Petit parc public avec des jeux pour enfants juste à côté.
