人に教えたくないほどよかったです。今でも人気なのに、これ以上人気が出て取れなくなるのが唯一の心配。
外国の人が多くて驚きました。習慣の違いでいろいろありましたが、彼らが真剣な思いで来ているのは感じ取られ、こちらの背筋が伸びる思いでした。いろいろ考えさせられる、忘れられない思い出になりました。

こちらが恐縮するくらい、丁寧に対応いただきました。
お部屋も廊下もトイレもお風呂も清掃が行き届いていることがわかり、非常に綺麗で気持ちよく過ごせました。

精進料理は非常に美味しく毎日でも食べたい程でした。女性にとっては量は多かったですが、動物性食品を使っていないので翌日胃の疲れを感じることはなかったです。

きれいな宿坊でした

初めて宿坊に泊まりましたが、同行者から「これが普通だとは思わない方がいいよ」と釘をさされるほど、とてもきれいで快適な宿坊でした。

滞在中は阿字観瞑想、奥の院ナイトツアー、朝のお勤め、護摩祈祷、写経に参加したのですが、どれも貴重は体験でした。
特にナイトツアーは昼間来たときには気づかなかったことを教えていただけたり有意義な経験となりました。

精進料理もとてもおいしかったです。
食事の準備に来てくださる方も皆さんテキパキと動かれて気持ちよく滞在できました。

一つだけ残念だったのは滞在中いらしたマスクをしない（顎マスク状態）男性への注意がなかったことです。
阿字観瞑想のときは始まってからは身につけていたのでまだしも、ナイトツアーのときは終始顎マスクだったので野外とはいえ不安を抱かざるを得ませんでした。
信徒の方なのか？積極的に質問するなどよく声を出す方だったので余計です。
お寺から注意していただければいいのになあと思いました。

弘法大師様に近づけた旅

今回は一人で宿泊しました。
ロケーションは最高です。
歩いて壇上伽藍・金剛峯寺・奥の院も回れる位置にあります。
お部屋でいただける精進料理はとても美味しかったです。
阿字観(瞑想)体験・翌朝のお勤め・護摩供養に参加させていただきました。
とても神聖な心持ちになりました。
ナイトツアーではお坊様からとても丁寧なお話をお聞きすることができました。

宿坊に泊まってみると・・・

ﾊﾞｽﾄｲﾚ無しの一人部屋に宿泊しました。廊下との境はふすま1枚でそのふすまには内側からかけられる鍵しかありません。貴重品は室内の金庫に入れて置けますが、入浴・トイレ時など、どこへ行くにも廊下側からロックできないのは大変不安でした。
瞑想・朝のお勤め・護摩などは興味深いものでしたが、有料のお札をすすめられたのは強制ではないものの計算外でした。
朝夕の食事は精進料理とはいえ期待していたより質素でした。
「宿坊に泊まる経験として、一度は良いかな」と思います。

大変居心地が良いです

奥之院へのアクセスが非常によく、また壇上伽藍方面までも歩ける距離ですので立地がとてもよいと感じました。
宿坊全体的に非常に清潔感がありました。

団体客が深夜まで騒いでいてユースホステルのようだった

評価の高さでこちらを選んで宿泊したのですが、深夜２時ごろまで共有スペースで談笑する団体客のせいで眠れず。翌朝の勤行や護摩祈祷のために早起きしたかったのですが...。
これから泊まる方は団体客の有無を確認された方がよいと思います。深夜、眠れない他の部屋の方と相談して社務所の方に相談しましたが、何もしてくれませんでした。
翌日は他の宿坊に泊まりましたがこちらは快適でホスピタリティを感じました。

とても綺麗に磨き上げられている宿坊で、気持ち良く迎えていただいた。また阿字瞑想や写経、護摩祈祷なども体験させてもらえ、弘法大師様の教えを少し身近に感じられた。朝夕の精進料理もとても美味しく、高野山を充分に味わえた。

清潔感のある宿坊

精進料理、阿字観、護摩焚き、朝のお勤めと高野山に来たんだ！という体験ができる宿坊です。ただ、古くて汚いというイメージは全くなく、共同ながらウォシュレットのトイレであったり、部屋もリフォーム済みでとても快適に過ごせました。
あと、なんといっても部屋食でくつろげます。おススメです。

深夜に他の客が起こしたアクシデントにたまたま出くわした時、少し従業員がイライラしてたのを目撃した以外はパーフェクトでした。是非もう一度宿泊したい施設です。

護摩行から配膳まで

９月に１泊の滞在をいたしました。夕食・朝食は美味しい部屋食の精進料理、トイレ・浴場は共同なものの、清潔です。部屋には襖の内鍵のみで外出時に外からの施錠は不可ですが、室内にセキュリティボックスもあり、貴重品管理にはそちらを利用することができました。朝の勤行、護摩行、阿字観に参加させていただきました。先ほどまで勤行、護摩行を執り行っておられた僧侶の方達が、朝食の配膳や予約の受付などをテキパキと動いている様子もとても美しく、快適に滞在させていただきました。

母と二人で初めての高野山

とっても素敵な宿坊です。
精進料理もおいしかったし、奥の院ナイトツアーや、アジメイソウ等々体験させていただくことが多く、よかったです。
今回ナイトツアーには外国人の方々に混じって一人日本人参加をしました（どうせ一人でついていくだけなら外国の人々がどんなところに興味を持っているのかも興味があったので）ただ奥の院の御陵橋のところで解散です。一人でお墓の真ん中を歩いて帰るのにはなかなか肝試し的な状態になってしまいました。誰かと参加するか、どなたかのグループに混ざったほうがいいでしょうね（笑）私はドイツの男性カップルにお願いして一緒に帰ってもらいました

廊下を歩くたびに大きな音がするので、トイレに行くとき等々夜に動くときは少し気になりますが、掃除の行き届いた埃一つないきれいにされている廊下は本当に気持ちよく、初めての宿坊体験の思い出になりました。

初宿坊体験で大満足できました

この宿坊の宿泊者は瞑想体験と写経と朝の勤行見学と護摩勤行見学が無料で出来ます。全て体験してみました。貴重な体験をさせてもらえて大満足しました。お坊さんが案内してくれる奥の院ナイトツアーは1人1500円でチェックイン時に申し込みます。こちらも大満足でした。精進料理は量は充分でお腹いっぱいになるのですが、カロリーが低いのですぐにお腹が空きました。部屋に鍵はかかりませんが、小さな金庫があるので安心です。フリーwi-fiは電波が弱かったので、つながったらラッキーぐらいに思った方が良いです。

はじめての高野山の宿坊（ひとり旅）

高野山の宿坊にはじめて宿泊しました。客室は清楚ですし、スタッフ（若い僧侶）の皆様もとてもフレンドリーです。日本語が話せない外国人の方も10名程度宿泊されてましたが、スタッフの方も適切に対応されてました。
また、夕方の瞑想、早朝の勤行、護摩行も宿泊者は参加できるので、高野山の旅を満喫できると思います。
私はひとり旅でしたが、問題無く参加できました。

Staying in Eko-in is an experience not to be missed. Our room was amazing, in the annex building, which felt brand new. The night cemetery tour has been the highlight of our Japan trip and the morning prayer and fire ritual were also great. Food was amazing and plentiful although Japanese breakfast wasn't a hit for us. We bought some pastries from Family Mart to have as backup, which came in handy. Free parking is provided too. The monks were all very welcoming and spoke good English.

Amazing experience

It was truly an amazing experience. At first please note that this is not a traditional hotel, but a active temple which hosts travellers. My room was traditional room with a tatami floor and shared bathroom. Room and bathroom were both clean and nice. The atmosphere in the temple was calm and quiet throughout my whole stay. Food that was served was amazing. It was also interesting to follow the morning service and the fire ritual.

Koysan

Last minute idea to stay at a Temple while in Osaka, paid high price for a room for 4 people over 2000$ for 1 night vegetarian meals included. Overall it was a different, unique experience, no regrets.

Koyasan Eko-in
Escape busy Tokyo or Osaka for this calming, welcoming and nurturing town of Koyasan. You’ll be warmly greeted regardless of what shops you enter or which temple you stay in. However, I must say that the team at Eko-in really goes above and beyond to make for an incredible experience from start to finish. They guide you step by step upon check-in and let you know what to expect along the way.

Things not to be missed:
-4:30 pm guided meditation
-In-room massage therapy by monks
-7pm cemetery walk (if it doesn’t rain, ours got cancelled due to weather)
-7am morning prayer
-7:30am fire ritual

Cannot recommend highly enough!!

Merveilleux séjour au beau temple Ekoin, accueil attentionné.
Chambre supérieure spacieuse à la fois traditionnelle et avec des équipements modernes. Très propre. Repas très copieux, joliment présentés et plein de saveurs à découvrir.
Bain dans le temple.
Possibilité de participer aux cérémonies des moines ( prière, méditation et goma ).
Proche du cimetière Okunoin.

Wonderful for what it is. This is not a hotel stay. Food was amazing, as were the experiences that came with the stay. The only downside was there are no private washing facilities, if that is a deal-breaker for you.

Preis-Leistung sind nicht in Ordnung. Unterkunft ist ein Erlebnis, allerdings auch sehr touristisch.

Great experience. Meditation, exceptional vegetarian food, morning prayer and goma fire ritual. Make sure to book the okunoin cemetery night tour, led by monks from the temple in English or Japanese. Koya-san is a magical place.

The temple and the surrounding area are absolutely beautiful! Trying to check in though was a bit of a pain. It took me about 5 tries to finally get the person meeting me at the entrance to understand that I had a reservation and wasn’t just there to take a picture. He kept telling me to come back in the morning. I had to take the paper from his hand and point my name out for everything to get across. The rest of the stay went extremely well however.

Our stay at Ekoin was the highlight of our two weeks in Japan. The room was beautiful and warm even though it snowed while we were there, the food was abundant and absolutely delicious on top of being a cultural experience, and participating in the morning service and fire ceremony was very special. We would absolutely recommend booking the Okunoin night tour as well, the monk who guided it was amazing and it was so different from going in the daytime.

I wish we’d spent more time here and in Koyasan! The temple stay was so comfortable and experiential, with beautiful views everywhere we turned. It is also right on the main street, within easy walking distance to the main attractions such as the Okunoin Cemetery (in fact, the Cemetary night walk starts here). This is a special highlight among the many great things we’ve done in Japan!

Beautiful temple accommodation

Really lovely temple accommodation with friendly monks and an excellent vegetarian dinner. Just be warned in winter the complex is mostly not heated (heaters are provided in rooms, but they’re kerosene so you have to be careful) and toilets/sinks are shared. Bathing is onsen style which I liked a lot. Views from some of the rooms are lovely.

Wonderful experience and hospitality by the staff. The room was beautiful, mix of traditional and modern amenities. We booked a room that included private bathroom and it was probably one of the best and memorable stays we had in Japan.

The food was fantastic and the staff were kind, patient and accommodating. They appeared to be used to foreigners and travelers, and able to navigate and meet everyone’s need.

服務很好，但房間都沒有空調/冷氣，夏天入住非常熱，有一個電風扇可以吹，但不足以消暑，付了很貴一晚的房費（3500港幣左右），但是hotels.com沒有提示此住宿沒有冷氣，誰也不會去特意詢問幾千港幣一晚的住宿是否有冷氣，結果入住到房間了才知道房間好像蒸桑拿一樣，實在令人震驚。房間整潔度一般，四個坐墊都有污跡，有空間改善。惠光院的活動節目比其他寺院多，有冥想和火供，如果沒來過高野山的也可以住一晚體驗。

What an incredible place to stay. A very attentive staff and the dinner and breakfast (Shojin ryori) in the room was exceptional. If you ever get a chance to travel to Koyasan, make sure you stay at this temple. You will not be disappointed.

Temple calme près du cimetière

Accueil très agréable et temple qui propose des séances de médiation et une cérémonie du feu intéressante.
La chambre était propre mais décrite comme ayant une vue sur la cour alors que ce n’était pas vraiment le cas: pas de fenêtre et la vue était possible à condition de laisser ouverte la porte d’entrée de la chambre.

I can’t really add much beyond what others have already said. The futon was strangely the most comfortable bed I have had in Japanese across five trips. It got cold overnight and I had to consult the room binder to figure out how to work the heater.

The garden view room is very beautiful! It’s wonderful to gaze upon the garden and drink tea at sunrise and sunset. The private bathroom is really amazing; it’s wood panelled with heating, a rain shower, and a bathtub with a seat built into it. It’s a lovely experience staying in the temple as well. If you have respiratory issues you should prepare antihistamines because of the incense in the temple (this applies to all the other temples in the area as well; the rooms are fine and do not have incense smoke). You can also experience Ajikan meditation, morning service and a fire ritual at Ekoin (these are of course all religious activities so skip it if you’re uncomfortable with that). I highly recommend the Okunoin night tour too! It’s very easy to go on it if you stay at Ekoin. The monks were very helpful with regard to our other tourist endeavours as well and some speak English very well :) It was a lovely stay!

Expérience à ne pas rater

Si vous devez choisir un seul endroit, il faut choisir celui-ci.
Séjour merveilleux avec les moines. Belle chambre et diner superbe (il faut aimer la nourriture japonaise tout de même, sinon vous serez déçu).
Belle balade de nuit dans le cimitière. Prière du matin et cérémonie du feu à obsolument pas manquer.

Tolle Erfahrung

Der Aufenthalt war sehr interessant und ereignisreich. Man kann in einem traditionellen japanischen Zimmer übernachten. Zusätzlich hat man die Möglichkeit Zeremonien und Rituale der Mönche über den Tag hinweg zu begleiten. Die Lage in Koya san ist sehr gut, da man direkt neben dem berühmten Friedhof sich befindet.

Alojamiento en Ryokan. Los Monjes muy amables. El tema de los rezos y la ceremonia del fuego bien, un poco turistada pero bien, vale la pena. Nos ofrecieron un paseo por el cementerio de Ikunoin por la noche que estuvo muy bien. Al día siguiente fuimos por la mañana. El cementerio de Ikunoin es una visita imprescindible. muy bonito.

Spændende ophold hos munkene

En rigtig god oplevelse for hele familien hos Munkene i Koya. Vi nød de mange oplevelser der var mulighed for at deltage i. Vi var særlig galde for kirkegårdsturen om aftenen og så det ildritual de afholder hver morgen. Maden som er inkluderet var ikke lige vores smag, men det var spændene at prøve.
