おもてなしの心溢れる旅館でした。

チェックイン時にはお茶の接待があり、帰り際にはお見送りいただき、それだけでも、とても温かい気持ちになりました。
温泉も良く、お部屋も清潔で、気持ちよく過ごせました。
また再訪したいと思います。

のんびり過ごせました。

接客は丁寧でフレンドリーで過ごしやすかったです。お料理もおいしかったですが、残念だったのがご飯のよそいかたが少し雑だったのと、すりながしが少しぬるかったことです。
あとお風呂の脱衣所が狭くて残念でした。

錦市場や新京極等　歩いて観光できる場所が近くて便利でした。
お部屋も広く隅々まで綺麗にされているところや　部屋以外にも京都らしい雰囲気の場所がありたくさん写真も撮らさせて頂きました。

今まで一番のおもてなしでした

年越しで旦那と1才の子供3人で泊まりました。出迎えてくれたスタッフからお食事係のスタッフまで、本当にステキな笑顔でした。料理もとっても美味しかったです。懐石料理だとどこも美味しい物とまあまあという料理が出てきますが、初めて全部が全部美味しい懐石料理に出会えました。一品一品料理人の思いが込められたしっかりした味付きでした。また帰りの際もお土産を頂いたり、子供を可愛がってくれたり、女将さん含め凄い豪華なメンバーで見送ってくれました。毎年行きたくなる旅館でした。オススメです。

立地やサービスが良いホテル

街中にあるので、立地がとても良かった。近くに雑貨屋さんや錦市場など色々楽しめた。また、従業員の対応も良くて気持ちよく過ごせた。小さな子供がいたので綺麗な畳のお部屋や、夕食がお部屋食なのがとても嬉しかったし、お料理も美味しくて大満足です。大浴場もこじんまりとしていますが、脱衣所もキレイで子供も一緒に入れました。
友人に早速おすすめしました。

宿も従業員も素敵な温かい宿

宿の雰囲気も従業員の接客もとっても良かったです。

お部屋は思ってた以上に広くて、（個人的には）大浴場に行かなくても良いくらいの充分な広さのお風呂と綺麗なトイレに大満足でした。アメニティが少なかったかなと思いましたが、ブラシをお願いするとすぐにくださりました。

部屋のポットはコンセントが付いているものではないため、熱湯は出ず、カップラーメンなどを部屋で食べる時は困りましたが、すぐにお湯を用意していただき、助かりました。

帰りには京都のお土産まで下さり、最後まで嬉しい気分で出発することができました。

機会があったらまた行きたいです。

市街地の中心部に位置して利便性が良いホテル

京都駅からタクシーで行ったが運転手さんがホテル名を伝えると認知していてスムーズに着くことができた。また遅い時間のチェックインだったが女将が挨拶に来てくれ食事を直ぐに用意してくれ従業員を含め接客が大変良かった。また事前に当日は団体客がいるため大浴場の利用時間が制限されているとの連絡があり親切だった。ただし大浴場と朝食会場がB1フロアにあったりフロアが少し複座だったりしていて施設面で最近のホテルの様な分かり易さと開放感がないのが残念だった。

今回は大浴場に行ったので使ってないが、トイレバスは別で使い勝手がいい。大浴場もきれいでひろい。シャワーがいい！ボデイソープはPOLA！

こぢんまりしつつ、気遣いは一流旅館並

女性スタッフは総じて品良く、男性スタッフは溌剌とした感じ。接客はこのメリハリもあってかとてもいい感じです。チェックアウト時のお土産、チェックイン時の抹茶ドリンクのサービスもサプライズでとても嬉しかったです。大浴場も清潔。旅館も品数多く、美味しいものを適量出していただけること、何より極力油っこさがなく、沢山でも美味しくいただけました。

温かくきめ細やかなスタッフとおいしい食事！

お部屋での夕食が大変おいしかったです。またスタッフの方の対応が誰もが非常に温かく、きめ細やかな対応をしていただきました。ウェルカムドリンクからお菓子のサービスなど至れり尽くせりでした。朝食も大変おいしく、お風呂も大きく、とても楽しめました。
ただし一点だけ、部屋の布団がマットレスのようなものがなく、布団を2枚引いただけで、私や夫には硬くて寝心地は良くありませんでした。マットレスを導入していただけるなら、また是非リピートしたいです。

古都で日本ならではの接客を満喫

行き届いた接客で、連泊しましたが快適に過ごせました。
お風呂も夜遅くまで入浴できるため、混雑を避けてゆっくりすることもできました。
細部までの心遣いが、とても気に入りました。

フロントの方の応対がいちいち柔らかくて、とてもフレンドリーな印象でした。
（褒め言葉です！）
部屋付きの風呂も、豪華な雰囲気だと言って、妻や子供たちが絶賛していました。ビジネスホテルみたいなとにかくシャワーが浴びれればいいや、という感じではなく、ちゃんとバスタブにつかれて、くつろげるお風呂のようでした。
(自分自身は大浴場を利用したので部屋付きの風呂は利用していませんが。)
大浴場も気持ちの良いお風呂でした。
ロビーの雰囲気も落ち着いていて、くつろげる雰囲気でした。

This if the first Ryokan I have ever stayed in so I have nothing to compare my experience to besides one of the other hotels I stayed at while visiting Japan for the first time. With that in mind, I can definitely say that the Matsui Bekkan Hanakanzashi was my favorite stay by far. The entire experience was completely different from a normal hotel. The Japanese breakfasts each morning were an added bonus and this is coming from someone that is a little picky about what I eat (I did my best to be adventurous in Japan which is what I would also recommend to anyone visiting). The housekeeping and staff were amazingly nice and helpful. The place was very clean and besides having to get used to a different style of bed, I thought the stay was better than I could have expected. I don't know if other Ryokans are any better than the Matsui Bekkan Hanakanzashi but I can safely say that you won't be disappointed in your stay here. I would highly recommend this place and look forward to my next trip back so I can stay here again.

Stayed one night at this hotel for the Japanese experience and it was amazing. Booked with breakfast and dinner included. The food was spectacular and as a true Ryokan they offered hot baths for guests to relax in. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend this experience.

An absolutely wonderful experience.

This was our first stay at a Ryokan and it was a fabulous experience for us. Everything about our stay was wonderful, beginning with a warm and friendly greeting when we arrived to a fun send-off when we departed the next day. Everyone on staff was incredibly kind and patient with us as we quickly learned the nuances of staying at a Ryokan. The dinner and breakfast were both outstanding as was the service and our room and futon beds were impeccably clean and comfortable. We would stay there again in a heartbeat and highly recommend this wonderful accomodation to anyone seeking a fabulous Ryokan experience.

We had an excellent stay at the Matsui Bekkan. Rooms were clean and spacious. Staff could not have been more friendly or helpful. Breakfast every morning was a feast. We would highly recommend this hotel for folks looking for a foreigner-friendly traditional Japanese experience!

Property described as ryokan but was not as immersive or tranquil as I was hoping for. Breakfast was traditional and ok. Dinner might have been better as it was served in-room but we unfortunately did not get that included. Room amenities were nice.
Although the property was a little dated, it was clean and well maintained.
Do not book if you’re not a fan of “big lights”. Iykyk.
Service was superb, everyone very friendly and accommodating.

The property was amazing! It was very traditional Japanese but also fully modern! The atmosphere was amazing, very peaceful and welcoming. LOVED the authentic room with tatami mats and robes. It was very spacious and comfortable. The hosts were very welcoming and friendly. I loved the traditional tea provided upon arrival. The included breakfast was delicious! Loved having use of the Sento in the basement. That felt amazing after walking all over Kyoto! Perfect, central location as well. Easy access to the train station, or for walking to the city center. Ubers and taxis were very easy to find as well.

This property was incredible! An awesome place to experience a traditional Japanese inn experience. Food was excellent for both breakfast and dinner, and the staff was super accommodating and made sure we were well taken care of - our stay was rainy, but they went out of their way to ensure we had umbrellas and helped us dry out our shoes after a wet day of sightseeing. Amazing hospitality and would gladly stay here again.

The BEST!!

Absolutely LOVED this place!!! The whole staff was friendly and accommodating. I was with my 90 yr old mom and they were so nice to her.
If you are looking for a Japanese experience with rooms and food, this is it.
Had breakfast and dinner there- breakfast is not a buffet, but a lot of different items to keep you full for the day.
The dinner included seasonal items and was delicious!!
It is also close to shopping and touristy areas.
Will definitely stay there again!!!!

Their hospitality was exceptional and cannot be beat. This is the best experience I've had at a foreign accommodation, a perfect balance between remaining cultural but still welcoming to foreigners. The location is really close to nishiki market and some of the best shopping and dining in Kyoto. We were also able to get to Fushimi inari by karasuma oike and Jr nara line which was a life saver because it was raining and there were no cabs at 7am.

Kyoto Experience

It was a nice short stay with just a couple of nights. I do however feel that the rooms are pricey and a bit of a walk (10-15 minutes) from main road and attractions.

Noise was also evident from other rooms.

The room was however spacious and staff very courteous and experienced the Japanese hospitality first hand. If I were to however take a second trip, I would choose another ryokan closer to Gion.

This is a Ryakan : Japanese style hotel
for a real japanese experience with futons and tamami mats
It is very nice with japanese bathropes and japanese meals.
For the price it could be a little more sophisticated but it is nice for being right in the city and close to metro and bus stations

It was perfect!

This trip is a family trip of grand parents with a young child. The hotel staff were very friendly and extremely helpful with all our questions and requests. They were always welcoming us, and we felt like home. The location is great, easy access to many famous attractions. The kaiseki and the breakfast were traditional Kyoto style and was very tasty and great experiences. The room was clean and we’ve also enjoyed the public spa too. We had a great stay, and it was definitely one of the highlights staying in this hotel on this trip.

Superb!!

I had a very enjoyable four-night stay in Matsui Bekkan Hanakanzashi. The staff was super friendly, considerate, and helpful. On the day of Gion Festival Parade, they even prepared us a small package with cold drink, sweat towel, and uchiwa inside. The room was sparkling clean and spacious. The location was beyond excellent! The neighborhood was quiet and lovely, and it was very easy to get to the main attractions from the hotel.

료칸이라고 하기엔...

우선 위치는 찾기는 어렵지만 위치상으론 좋았어요. 니시키시장과 가깝고. 걷다보니 기온거리이고 또 가다보니 닌센,산젠자카였어요. 그렇지만 료칸이라고하기엔....욕장이 지하에 아주 작은 시골 목욕탕 같았어요. 료칸체험하고싶어 갔는데 잘 알아보고 갔어야했는데.. 그 점이 많이 아쉬웠어요. 룸 컨디션은 넓고 안락했한 침구가 좋았어요. 엄마는 여기서 주무셨을때 가장 편하게 주무셨다고 하셨어요. 마음도 편안했다고 하셨어요. 직원분들은 친절했고, 영어도 잘하셔서 의사소통엔 문제가 없었어요. 퇴실할땐 젓가락 선물도 주셨어요. 마지막까지 친절하게 해주셔서 좋았어요. 하지만, 다시 방문할거냐고 물으시면 안가는걸로 할려구요. 그가격이면 좋은 호텔에서 묶거나, 료칸다운 료칸에서 묶을생각입니다. 교토텍스라고 해서 1인당 200엔 세금내야하는점~

Very nice stay but not good enough value for money

Nice stay, nice hotel, nice service, nice room and nice commodities, but nothing so special that justifies the price. I missed shutters in the bedroom to block the light in the morning and it was loud in the streets from very early, very audible in the bedroom.

Fantastic staff. Well situated propoerty just far enough out of the "tourist zone" that it is quiet at night but still close to evereything (such as nearby restaurants and shopping). Beautifully appointed. A real traditional feel.

The ryokan has very good location and very well-kept. Staffs were very friendly and amenities were great. The indoor public hot bath was a pleasant experience after a long day of sightseeing. We really enjoyed our breakfasts there. The ryokan knew to change up our breakfast menu everyday. We did not enjoy the kaiseki dinner here since we thought it was over-priced for the kind of food served. We came during Sakura season which may have inflated the prices for everything.

The location is perfect. You are in the heart of Kyoto. You can just step out and wander the small streets, cafes and dessert shops nearby.
The included breakfast was pretty average, I tried both the traditional one and some strange western one on the two days I was here. There are so many restaurants nearby that I would recommend eating and exploring outside the hotel. Nishiki market is is just 7 mins walk away and is such a lovely experience, even though it is touristy I just loved it, there's lots of local snacks to explore.

A value for money ryokan in expensive Kyoto. Service is excellent, the staff even gave us a paper with tomorrow’s weather report, they even polished our shoes for us! Food was also excellent and served in the room hence giving us an authentic Japanese ryokan experience , and room was big even for two adults and one five year old child. Location is fantastic, literally 2-3 minutes walk to Nishiki market and another 5 minutes to the main shopping street. Highly recommended!

Great 1 night inmerssion to Japanese living

Staying at the Matsui Bekkan was quite an experience. My family (wife + 2 kids) stayed for one night while visiting Kyoto. Would highly recommend the experience (staying 1 night) for anyone wanting to have a true inmersion in traditional Japanese living culture.

Wonderful location, great staff

The customer service was excellent, I wish check in time was available sooner. The location was perfect, walkable to many things. There are restaurants nearby and the train is close by. My only complain would be that I had a non smoking room but my toilet room smelled a lot like cigarettes - the toilet room is separated from shower room, located on opposite side of room. I’m not sure if it was because perhaps there was a smoking room on the other side of it. Aside from that I enjoyed my stay.
