錦市場とうへのアクセスは抜群。寺社仏閣へはバスの一日券等をオススメします。

レンタカーは京都駅で借りる上に、ここは駐車場がないので、車でなく公共交通機関での旅行にオススメです。祇園まで徒歩30分くらい見れば十分かと。

大浴場がある旅館

京都市内で温泉、大浴場がある旅館をさがしていました。あんまり旅館がない中、四条大橋から近い綿善旅館で泊まれてすごくよかったです。
ほとんどが外国人客だったということもあって、少し小さめな大浴場でしたが、混み合うことなくゆっくり入れました。
場所よし従業員さんの接客もよしで、とても良い旅館でした。

チェックインするとスタッフが部屋まで案内してくれました。とても感じのよい女性でアメニティーの説明、大浴場の場所と時間などを説明してくれた。部屋は畳の部屋でThe 京都という感じで大変気に入りました。あと、部屋に八橋があったのがまた良かった。

錦市場すぐ。周りにはたくさん飲食店があります。

夫婦＋子ども2人で宿泊しました。
お部屋はけして新しくはありませんが、清掃が行き届いており清潔でした。部屋にお風呂も付いていますが、地下に大浴場があり、そちらを利用。こちらもけして広くはないですが、たまたま他の方が入っておらず、我が家の人間だけでゆったりと使えました。
宿泊のみのプランでしたが、口コミで料理が美味しいとの評判を目にし、別途、夕・朝食をつけました。夕食は京風みやび鍋、朝食はぶぶ漬けを。
子どもが小さい＆観光地で食べ歩きするであろう事を考慮して、夕食は3人分をお願いしたのですが、
量が多くて、食べきれませんでした。ですが、白みそ仕立ての鍋は初めてでしたので、美味しかったです。
残念なのは、料理の説明が一切なかったこと。若い仲居さんだったためか、そういった指導をしていないのかは不明ですが、京都の珍しい食材などもあったので、説明や作り方を教えていただければ、もっと美味しく感じられただろうと思います。
朝食のぶぶ漬けはいろんな味を楽しめて、良かったです。主人は３杯おかわりしていました。

フロントの方は若い方もご年配の方も、とても感じ良かったのですが、不思議なのは、宿泊までの間に３度電話で問いあわせをしたのですが、その際、声が小さく、何度も聞き返す事があったこと、また、話し方が冷たく感じられ、一度はキャンセルしようかと思ったくらいでした。
もう少し、電話の対応を感じ良くしていただければ、旅行の楽しみも増すのではと思います。

錦市場や寺町に近いホテル

錦市場や寺町に近く、河原町や木屋町も徒歩圏内。周辺に飲食店も多くて、便利な場所です。地下一階に大浴場もあるので、ゆったりと過ごせます。ホテルのフロントは２４時間対応なので、出入りも自由なので、夜の外出も気兼ねなく出来ます。

立地条件は最高で、ｽﾀｯﾌの対応も満足のいくものでした。施設としては思っていたほどの風情はなく、駐車場は少し遠かったです。しかし駐車場まで送り迎えもしていただき、旅行を満喫出来ました。

フロントスタッフの対応

館内は年季の入った旅館といった印象。
エレベーターが古くて狭い。
客室は清潔感があり、よかったです。
そして題名にあげたフロントスタッフの対応。
はじめに対応して頂いた方のみですが、車で移動しており駐車場がわからないので、ホテルの前に少し停車させたら文句を言われ、提携の駐車場に案内してもらえば、歩行車を引き殺さんばかりの運転。。
なんなんでしょ？
お客さんを乗せてるときぐらい安全運転、普通の話し方での接客ぐらいして欲しかったです。

This is a charming historic ryokan. We loved the traditional breakfast we had each morning and the kaiseki dinner on our last night. The onsen is also terrific. The location truly can’t be beat. We were easily able to walk to almost all of the places we wanted to visit. There are great bakeries, coffee shops and cafes just steps away. And finally the staff here is the best! They went above and beyond to welcome us and share a bit of Japanese culture with us. Highly recommend.

It was fantastic to experience a more traditional Japanese style accommodation. The futon beds were really comfortable. Trying the Japanese breakfast was well worth it and the fried tofu in miso was delicious.
It is great to find accommodation who goes above and beyond to be sustainable. The staff are very helpful and friendly.

Mooie Ryokan met onsen en geweldig eten

Mooie Ryokan midden in de oude buurt en tegelijk op loopafstand van de grote winkels. Overnachten in een Ryokan is een ervaring en zeker een must. Prijs van de kamers is hoog en misschien wel te hoog in vergelijking met hotel of andere ryokans. Maar het eten, apart bijboeken, is in een woord geweldig. Hotels.com gaf aan dat we met 5 op een kamer kunnen slapen, daarvoor is de kamer echt te klein en dat moet je ook niet willen. Gelukkig bood de Ryokan een extra kamer zonder kosten aan zodat we met 2 en 3 op een kamer sliepen. Dat is prima.
In de kelder een fijne onsen.

It was the first time I stayed in a Ryokan. The etiquette and professionalism of the staff was above expectations. The Kaiseki dinner was good as any fine-dining experience I've had. The explanation of ingredient and preparation of each course was total bliss. Traditional Kyoto meals which focuses on the ingredients more than strong savoriness was perfect for my palette and soul.
And I thank the elegant gentleman who greeted us and the young lady who explained the ryokan for being so gentle and professional.
This ryokan stay made my Kyoto stay worthwhile.

This was a wonderful, authentic stay! The staff was incredible as was the traditional Japanese breakfast each morning. We felt like we experienced a true ryokan experience and we are so glad we chose this route. Highly recommend the public bath for a hot soak too!

Excellent location near Nishiki market. Cost efficient for a group of 5, 18 years old boys. Sleeping arrangement was fun and the onsen was clean and enjoyable. While we were out, the staff lay out the futons and they hung dry our wet clothes. Thank you for the hospitality!

Charming stay in a great location

We loved our stay in this charming ryokan. Great location and only a block from Nishiki market. The service was friendly and helpful and they were very welcoming of our two small children. We had a lot of fun trying the traditional Japanese futons, baths and amazing breakfast.

Welcoming staff guided us through the traditional ryokan experience. We used the onsen once and had it all to ourselves. The traditional Japanese breakfasts were HUGE and delicious - a great way for me and my family to try foods we may not have otherwise. We stayed 4 nights and each days’ breakfasts were different. Some reviewers complained about the breakfasts being too small - I think that is because they didn’t purchase the full breakfast, which does cost more and is worth it. The hotel was a very short walk to Nishiki market. Convenient location and yet it was also very quiet. Would definitely stay again.

This was the best place I stayed durung my first visit to Japan. I traveled throughout the country, and no place was better. It reminded me of staying at my grandmother's home when I was younger. The staff was especially kind and helpful. The bath was clean and relaxing. I especially felt honored by the formal welcome from the staff. They had a lady welcome me at the room and prepare green tea for me as she explained the facility. I had never stayed in a ryokan before, and my stay here was a great experience. Thank you all for enriching my life. Also, thank you for a restful place for during my tiring travels. I felt blessed to be there.

It was a great experience to stay in a traditional inn. And we loved the traditional breakfast. The public bath was very clean and relaxing after a long day seeing the sights. Location was very central and easy to walk to many different areas. Staff was extremely welcoming and helpful and I would stay here again if I could!

Really enjoyed our stay at this Classic small ryokan - older facility but this is as classic as it gets for a nice ryokan. 5 of us stayed in a tatami room for 2 nights . The meals were excellent. Called ahead and they accommodated vegan meals for one of us. Kaiseki was delicious and so beautifully presented. Japanese breakfast was great too. Wonderful staff. Be prepared to walk. Subway and bus stops nearby. Subway is a good 10-15 walk. Nearby is the Nishiki market which was great to walk around and enjoy snacks and buy souvenirs. The hot public bath downstairs to relax after a long sightseeing day was wonderful. - no one was there so we enjoyed it just by ourselves each night. Convenient coin laundry was a plus. Would highly recommend to those looking for a cozy ryokan with excellent meals. Bravo to the chefs - excellent Kaiseki!

Disappointing. Room was depressing, mats were hard and uncomfortable. The hotel controlled the temperature so they would blast heat from midnight to noon so we had to turn the system off and open the rickety window to cool the room so we could sleep and street noise was unavoidable. No lotions in the bathroom so had to buy one. Noticed stains on the pillows. Liked the green tea bags and cookies they left after servicing. Electric water heater with hot water always available.
Did not experience the dinner or breakfast. Walked to Tullys for coffee in the morning. Close to Nishiki market and the mall.

서비스도 좋고 직원분들도 너무 친절해요
많이 낡은 느낌이 있고 변기 물도 한번 사용하면 계속 물이 내려와서 좀 사용이 불편하더라고요
그리고 화장실과 욕실이 나눠져 있는데 방에 비해 많이 좁아요ㅜㅜ
그치만 목욕탕이 지하에 따로 있어서 거기서 항상 씻었네요
위치도 시장 바로 옆이라 좋았고 노후한 느낌은 있지만 깔끔합니다
료칸은 처음 이용해보는데 매력있어요!

great traditional room. however there wasn't a lot of space once it was converted into "bedroom". my kids loved the onset. the staff was really helpful and gave us lots of recommendations.
breakfast was no the best as just bread and boiled egg but it was OK

This was our first time staying at a ryokan, and it was a cool experience. Your bedding is laid out on the tatami mats by the staff at night. We had a kaiseki meal the first night and it was pretty nice, wearing our yukata and enjoying our multi-course meal in our room. Our room was really spacious. In addition to a traditional table where you sit on the tatami mat, there was also a table with two chairs. And the amenities included a mini fridge. Our bathroom was clean, and we had access to the public baths which we used on our first night. Overall, the hotel itself is really nice and clean, and located in a great location, near the Nishiki Market. Our room felt slightly dated but it was clean and comfortable. I'd recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to stay at a ryokan.

The service here is amazing and the gentleman with the glasses at the front (possibly the owner) is one of the best human beings you’ll deal with in the service industry. Extremely helpful and he’s funny too (I didn’t get his name).

The room is big and I recommend using a few futons as one is too thin to sleep on for anyone that weighs closer to 90kgs or more. Onsen is nice and although a little small, it was clean and nobody was in there when I used it. Breakfast is light yet you can opt in for the Japanese breakfast for a small price and do it if you haven’t had one before.

服務人員很nice, 地點就在錦市場旁邊, 走路也可以到烏丸四條站搭機場巴士, 距離地鐵也很近, 十分方便

Ryokan

It was a nice ryokan(the first I've ever stayed in). For some reason I thought there would be more explanation of tradition and serving of food. My reservation said I would get breakfast. I did not get the traditional Japanese breakfast. Instead I just got some bread and coffee. You had to pay extra which I was unaware of.

가족여행 대만족!!!

개인적으로는 두 번째이자 가족들과는 처음 묵는 료칸이었는데 너무너무 만족합니다. 아이들과 함께하는 일본 여행에서 일본 문화 체험을 위해 이 숙소를 예약했습니다. 체크인 시 보여주신 직원분들의 친절함과 유카타를 아이들이 직접 받아서 올라가는 경험도 저는 무척 마음에 들었습니다. 또한 한국인 직원이 있어 웰컴티를 직접 내려줄 때 이것저것 편하게 물어보고 도움을 받을 수 있었습니다. 특별히 그 직원에게 감사인사를 또 드리고 싶네요. 외출 후 이부자리까지 마련해주는 서비스는 료칸에서만 경험할 수 있지요. 그 부분도 아이들에게는 좋은 경험이었습니다.
시장과 거리도 가깝고 버스역과도 가까워 교토 일정 시 전혀 불편함이 없습니다. 또한 인근에 맛집도 많고 조용한 소호거리가 볼 것도 많습니다. 개인적으로 무척 만족하는 숙소였습니다. 추천 드립니다.

서비스며 위치며 정말 최고에요 진짜ㅠㅠㅠ

일단 료칸형 숙소임에도 저렴한 가격이어서 마음에 들었고 서비스는 최고였어요!모든 직원분들이 정말 친절하시고 서비스나 객실청결 등 모든 부분에 만족했습니다. 하루종일 정말 많이 돌아다니는데 숙소가 편하지 않으면 아무리 쉬어도 피로가 풀리지 않는데 와타젠 료칸은 진짜 집에 온것처럼 너무 편했어요! 다음에 또 교토에 온다면 무조건 재방문할거에요!!

Disappointed

Was very disappointed. This Inn has definitely seen better days, it felt very drab. It said it could fit six, but we were cramped at three people. The teeny seating area overlooking the maintenance shaft of the building opposite only afforded two seats. But the biggest disappointment was the location, it was only close to an alley like lane of shops and restaurants, which we loved, but far from all of the sites. It was a few blocks walk to the closest bus station, and a taxi ride to the nearest train. The breakfast was dismal, in an uninspired room, just really took the enjoyment out of Kyoto. The staff was very pleasant and helpful, but for all the other points I can’t recommend this Inn. There are much better Inns around Kyoto and Nara that far exceed this one.

와타젠료칸

위치 훌륭하고 아주아주 친절하였습니다.
기본 유럽식? 아침 조식이라고 하기엔 너무 허접해서 솔직히 그부분에서 너무 실망이었습니다..홈페이지를 봐도 그렇고 돈을 더내고(만원정도) 먹어야하는 일본식에대한 정보가 없어서 아쉬웠습니다
룸안에서도 조식에관한 그림만 있었지 사진같은게 없더군요...그리고 체크인,아웃이 넘 늦고 넘 빠른듯합니다. 알고 예약을 했는데도 불구하고 10시에 나가려니 좀 힘들었어요^^;

Beautiful ryokan tucked perfectly in Kyoto. 10 minute walk from Kyoto Station, and minutes from two different shopping/eating districts. It was well worth the experience! The staff were arguably the most accommodating hotel staff I have ever encountered. They held our bags before our check in time so we could go explore the city! The room itself was marvelous. Traditional tatami flooring, tea ceremony in a kimono, and mat bedding all laid out for you. There is even a traditional bathhouse for free! Very worth it, I would highly recommend.

夜晚會幫我地鋪好，朝早執房會執番入櫃，不過如果瞓慣床比較軟會唔習慣
樓下有大浴場，特別係京都都係行路為主，返到酒店有地方浸浴成個人舒服好多
離錦市場一條直路，兩分鐘左右就到，附近行十分鐘都有車站去四周，所以好方便

교통은 조금 불편했지만 근처에 니시키 시장과 시장거리가 있어 매우 좋았습니다. 일본 전통 료칸을 이 가격에 즐길 수 있는 점이 좋았고 서비스도 만족합니다. 가이세키는 무난했습니다.

초등학생 2명 동반 가족여행으로 좋았습니다.
다다미 방이어서 이부자리를 모두 4채 깔아주어서 편하게 잘 수 있었어요.
지하에 작은 욕탕이 있는 점도 좋았고
전통료칸은 아니지만 아이들이 유가타를 입고 기분내고 즐겁게 놀 수 있어서 좋았습니다.
체크인 시 뽑기를 통한 기념품 제공도 유쾌하고
방에 들어왔을 때 차를 제공해 주는 것도 고마왔습니다.
외출 후 방에 들어오면 미리 이불을 깔아 놓아주십니다.
저희 가족은 적절한 비용에 좋은 서비스를 제공 받아 만족했습니다.

Friendly Staff and comfortable stay

Excelente Ryokan

Este Ryokan é excepcional e os funcionário são muito amáveis. O proprietário fala muito bem inglês e fornece todas as informações necessárias com muita simpatia. Deixam um mapinha da região pra você e nele todas as informações de como chegar aos pontos turísticos de Kyoto, inclusive número dos ônibus e local de partida. O quarto é bem legal e o futon é confortavel. Muito bem localizado, com acesso fácil à pé ao mercado Nishiki, bares , restaurantes e lojas. Preço justo.

櫃檯服務非常到位有禮貌，因剛好遇到颱風來襲，一到旅館馬上遞上毛巾並關心讓人備感貼心
房間榻榻米很有日式旅館的氣氛，服務人員也很耐心講解各項設施及服務，晚間鋪床服務也很細心，不自覺的和服務人員互相道謝
Check out時也很迅速及到門口感謝
附近商店街也非常方便，各式食物及京都小有名氣的料理店都在附近、藥妝店也很多家可以到處逛逛。

위치좋고 서비스 좋은 료칸

오래된 료칸 치고는 관리가 잘 되었음. 직원들 모두 영어 가능해서 불편함 없음. 타타미 방에서 숙박할 예정이면 가격대비 괜찮음. 지하철에서 약간 거리가 있지만 번화가여서 지루하지 않음.

Kyoto Visit

Our experience at the Watazen Ryoo was excellent from the moment we arrived. The front staff in the afternoon of August 18th were very friendly and welcoming. They assisted us with directions as well as storing our things until check in. The room was comfortable and clean and the breakfast in the morning was sufficient. In this hot and busy summer in Kyoto the staff gets top marks. The area is also excellent and only two stops from Kyoto Station. Would recommend.
