すばらしかったです

２段ベット２つの共用バスの部屋に家族で２泊しましたが最高の滞在になりました。
部屋は静かで清潔で、フロントではお茶やコーヒーなどのドリンクの他に朝食の提供もあり、共用のシャワールームも清潔なタオルが豊富に用意されていて、24h使用可能でした。
機会があればまた利用させていただきたいと思います

あまりに宿泊料金が安いので、少し心配でしたが、オーナーの対応でとても気持ち良い滞在時間でした。いわゆるコスパ最高といってもよいでしょう。無料の朝食のことは事前に聞いてなかったので、同行の友人は喜んでいました。

観光地に近い

綺麗なホテルで家族四人だったので四人部屋に泊まれました。子供達は、二段ベッドが初めてだったので喜んでました。部屋の隣に部屋専用のトイレシャワー室がありますが狭かったです。ホームページには、タオルシャンプーなどついてないとあったので慌ててかいましたがシャンプーリンスボディソープはありました。チェックインの時間ギリギリに近くに着いたのですが、夜で暗くて場所がわかりにくく時間過ぎてしまいましたが、ホテルの人が待っていてくれて親切でした。

おもしろかた外国にいるみたいだった。

思った以上に、ゲストハウス初めて泊まりましたが、快適でした。
テレビはなかったけれど、携帯で観れるので問題なく、何しろ朝ごはんは３００円と激安、しかも食べ放題、ロケーションもよくまた利用したいレベルでした。

このゲストハウスは今まで使ったゲストハウスの中で一番清潔で綺麗でした。清水寺に近いなど立地もよく、おすすめです。

快適でした。

ゲストハウスは初めてでしたが、清潔でお安くとまれて良かったです。駅からはタクシーで約９００円。三十三間堂、智積院は徒歩圏ですので意外と便利です。部屋はいわゆる４畳半で布団の他は簡単なソファ、お茶セット、タオル類があります。1日観光で外出なのでこれで十分でした。でもドアの外の廊下での話し声などはよく響きますし、シャワー（個室仕様）、トイレ、洗面は男女一緒でちょっと手狭い感じがします。また、匂いもちょっと独特。このあたりのことが気にならない人ならオススメです。

地図で見ると便の悪そうな場所に見えますが、徒歩圏内に見処がたくさんあります
朝ごはんも500円でトースト、スクランブルエッグ、ベーコンなどビュッフェスタイルでお得です
スタッフも気持ちの良い対応で部屋も清潔感があり落ち着ける空間です
コンビニ、パン屋、居酒屋、お好み焼き屋などのお店も歩いてすぐの所にありました

また京都に行くはこの宿に泊まろうと思います

Amazing place to stay! Traditional, and our room was huge compared to Japanese standards. Very quiet and clean, despite shared amenities. Did not try the breakfast. Owners were lovely and friendly and super accommodating! Would stay again.

The owners are the sweetest. The hostel owner would give me snacks whenever I was working the common area, called taxis for me, and even directed me to a local festival happening in the area. The staff can speak english very well, and there was also many forgeiners in the guesthouse which was very reassuring.

The room was very cozy, and it was fun to stay in a traditional style japanese room. I liked the futon, but others who do not fancy firmer beds may be a little uncomfortable. Overall, an amazing value and experience!

The hosts were very friendly and helpful. They helped us figure out the bus system, helped us to choose sites to visit, and they were very welcoming. The room was close to the bathrooms which were private and very clean. I like having a small western breakfast available each morning.

While it is a bit of a walk to the nearest station, there are convenient buses nearby. The guesthouse staff are incredibly friendly and helpful and the rooms and bathroom were clean. Loved it here.

Guesthouse Soi was adorable with really unique, artistic decor in the shared spaces. The staff was so welcoming. We stayed in a Japanese style room that had 2 futons but could accomodate a 3rd in neccesary. Our room was spacious, clean with an air conditioner that worked super well. There was a hot pot, tea cups and tea bags in our room which was a nice touch.

Of all the "shared bathroom" stays we did on our trip to Japan, this one really got it right: the shared bathroom was a whole area -- kind of like an old school dorm-- but it had three fully enclosed toilet "rooms", three fully enclosed shower "rooms" (with a small dry) area where you could get dressed, and a row of sinks and mirrors.

We did walk to Kiyumizudera, but for the most part, vehicular transport was needed to get to most of the sights and the station. There is a bis stop down the street!

The staff, Maki-san and her family, were so incredibly considerate and accommodating. I really appreciated them. We had several hiccups in our plans and they made sure we still had a clean room, gave us medicine and soup for the one of us when she got sick, and invited us to celebrate Christmas and New Year’s with them and fed us cake and traditional soba. I doubt we could’ve had better accommodations anywhere else. Even though it was a bit of a walk to get to a bus and there weren’t many restaurants open near the guesthouse, I wouldn’t change anything about our stay. I highly recommend staying at Guesthouse Soi, and I am planning to send a thank you package to Maki-san and her family to express my gratitude for their hospitality that went above and beyond what was expected.

Nice Place to Stay

Soi is located close to Kiyomizu-dera and not far from anywhere in Kyoto. JIll, the host was very helpful in every aspect that we needed. The room was cozy and very "Large" in Japan's standard. The hostel is accessible by bus from Kyoto station and to all the tourist spot that you may want to go to. My wife and I stayed two nights there in February and will definitely return to stay there again in the future. Thank you Jill.

This is a very good place to stay for both short and longer visits to Kyoto! It was very easy to find - the signage was very clear. The hosts were nice and helpful and could speak both English and Chinese. The location is close to the Gion district and the nearest JR station is a 25 minute walk. The one downside was the communal bathrooms. I would definitely recommend to everyone, and would choose to stay here again if I ever return to Kyoto.

Wonderful stay at the guesthouse with extremely friendly owners who provided us travel and shopping tips to travel in Kyoto. The guesthouse is located at a peaceful neighbourhood and yet near many places of attractions. We enjoy the daily short walk to the bus stop or main road to catch a taxi to Kyoto station. We will come back again.

A place to come home to

Conveniently located (good bus connections) in Kyoto’s East, the guesthouse proved to be a great base for our stay. Very affordable breakfast options (Western and Japanese alternating between weekdays) make for a good start into your day out. All facilities a and our room were super clean, the loft-like double room offered a refreshingly large amount of space (for Japanese big city standards). The washing machines on the roof terrace were easy to use and were a godsend for freshening up our travel wardrobe. Staff was super friendly and helpful, and between them and there guests, you will always find good company at Guesthouse Soi.

Our stay at Guesthouse Soi was great! The staff were helpful and knowledgeable, sharing ideas on where to go and what to see within our limited time. There are some amazing sites within walking distance and handy bus service to the train station or other destinations. We would enjoy staying there again.

Wonderful guesthouse

Being in Kyoto for the first time and staying in this guesthouse was such a nice experience. In my opinion it was quite clean, the rooms are reasonable sized and sleeping on the floor with Japanese mattress was an amazing feeling! I was well rested :) A pity it’s a bit far away from the city centre but you can get a bus to everywhere.

대체적으로 만족한다! 특히 이가격에 교토 숙박을..! 500엔에 훌륭한 조식을!!

조용한 자리에 소박한 느낌과 정서를 느낄 수 있었고 게스트하우스는 익숙하지 않아서 그런지 공용 화장실과 샤워실은 조금 불편 했었다.
외국인들과 대화하고 즐길수 있는 자리? 연결 해줄수 있는게 있으면 좋았을거 같았다!
사장님? 스텝?? 들은 매우 친절한 편이고, 조식도 가격대비 매우 좋았었다!!

Recommend

Very helpful staff with good language skills. Friendly and willing to help out. Clean and nice place. You have to walk uphill for awhile before reaching the hotel and the closest bus stop is not on the hill. One shortcoming is that you can hear the footsteps and noise from other room.

Excellent stay great hosts convienent location.

The guesthouse ids clean and comfortable. Excellent facilities. The hosts have great knowledge of the area. Lots of good advice on where to eat . We hired the bikes and we were able to easily ride to numerous temples and shrines. Highly recommend the guesthouse.

Perfect for hiking the Higashiyama District

It was my first time staying in a guesthouse and I enjoyed the experience. I was a solo traveler from Canada and I got to meet people from France, Scotland, Shanghai, and Japan. The reason I chose Guesthouse Soi was its affordability and that it was located in the Higashiyama District where I was going to do the entire day historic hike to the Silver Pavilion.

With that said, if you don't enjoy hiking/walking or your health is questionable, I would suggest a different accommodation closer to a JR station. The closest JR station is the kyoto station, approximately 25 mins of walking. Otherwise, the location was perfect as I dined in the Gion district often.

Maki and her staff were pleasant to talk to. Their cooking skills for breakfast were great. The room I stayed in was a Japanese-style room with a tatami mat and it was clean and comfortable.

My reason for the cleanliness rating was that some of the shared facilities such as the washroom & showers could be better, but that wasn't the fault of the guesthouse or staff. It has more to do with the behaviour of the other guests you'll be sharing with. Other than that, you'll always have a nice hot shower.

I would book again.

Hospitable,charming Guest House!

We enjoyed our stay at this charming Guest House, owned by a truly lovely couple. Clean, traditional, and near to Kyoto station, Gion and many 'must see' sites. The hospitality and travel tips from the owners are off the charts! Without doubt, their guidance made our ambitious sight seeing experiences in Kyoto, Nara, Osaka, Arashiama and Inari possible. Btw, breakfast is generous & delicious at a great value!

Gut gelegen, komfortabel mit tollen Gastgebern

Kiyomizu Tempel sowie viele andere Highlights in Kyoto sind zu Fuß gut erreichbar, aber auch mit Bus kein Problem, weil der Bus-Stopp auch nah ist. Bus fährt direkt zum Bahnhof, von wo die Tagestouren nach Nara oder andere mit Japan Railways starten.
In der Unterkunft fühlten wir uns sehr wohl, obwohl die Zimmer klein waren, war die Aufteilung über 2 Etagen so intelligent, dass wir uns zu viert nicht beengt fühlten.

Special place

It is a really nice place for stay. I bit difficult to find it ..but after that it is really near to all main place.

住地还是很好找的，周围也都很安静，我们住二楼，打开窗便是一棵樱，无奈我们去早了，花还没开。因为习惯了睡硬床，所以TTM很合我们。住处设施比较齐全，虽是木制房，但旅客们出入行走还是很注意没有打扰到他人。有个自助小厨房，可以自己下厨哦～老板人十分好，非常好～每次晚点回来，闻着老板的饭菜香，口水流吖，老板share了两次他的好厨艺成品，赞赞赞！！！有任何问题都可以请教，老板很是热情，给的信息也是棒棒哒～下次一定再来～～

價錢便宜，整體不錯，廁所同洗澡地方和其他客人共享，這方便要留意，洗衣機同早餐要付費的，但非常便宜，旅舍離京都駅也有一段距離，所以去之前要看坐什麼巴士到達。

親切熱心的民宿

老闆很親切熱心，從京都車站搭公車，下車走到民宿應該可以看到 “宿”燈籠，但taxi就不容易看到，因為是木招牌沒有燈箱，夜晚check-in有點找不到。可以中文溝通，熱心協助旅遊行程，早餐非常棒，假期結束後非常想念，希望有機會再來住宿。

Great hostel in Kyoto.

We stayed in Guest house Soi for 1 night when we stayed in Kyoto.
The hotel is very well decorated and all of the stuff are very helpful and friendly.
The hotel was located in heart of Higashiyama area and very easy to travel everywhere by walk or bicycle.
We have rented the bicycle from there for 500 yen all day and when to everywhere by bike.
We stayed in the smallest room and the room was Abi small but for the value you will have everything you need and everything was very clean so we were happy to stay there.
Also you can pay 500 yen and they offer you very good breakfast everyday as well.

Awesome place to stay in Kyoto!

This place was the best place we stayed in during out time in Japan. The family who own/run it are super friendly and helpful (everyone speaks decent English). The room was very cosy and clean. Breakfast was pretty decent for the price.

The only thing to consider is the location, as you might need to walk 5 minutes or so to get on the buses, but for us that was not an issue.

If I ever went back to Kyoto, I would definitely stay here again, which I can't say I've ever really said for many of the places I've ever traveled.

Great value

Staying at Guesthouse Soi for the Kyoto portion of our trip was a great decision. From Kyoto station it was a short ride on bus 206 to get to this guesthouse, so it was easy to find. It was clean with friendly staff. Room and bathroom was small, but that's to be expected in Japan. Would stay here again if we ever go back to Kyoto. Bonus: Kiyomizu dera temple was close by.

Myself and 2x boys (8yo & 11yo) stayed at Guesthouse Soi.
We arrived from Osaka via Shinkansen, followed the instructions and caught the bus. It was very easy. the bus has a screen indicating the next stops. (later we went to nearest train station, it would be too far to walk with luggage and kids).
When we arrived at Soi, it was early and our room not ready. We dropped of our luggage and went out to explore.
On returning, our luggage were in our room, the girl showed us our room and explained the guesthouse facilities.
The room is good size, modern, clean and well equipped.

very nice guest house in kyoto

We stayed here for 4 nights and we were very happy. we had the small room with the japanese style bed in a small loft area. very cozy room.
the staff is very nice and friendly. they also help with directions and getting around which is very useful.
the japanese breakfast was very nice.
the owner invited us for dinner with the family which was a lot of fun. we were initially going to skip fuku-ji but went there on the recommendation of the owner and were very happy we did!

First time in Kyoto

I traveled from US with my 3 daughters (ages 16-21). Location is good, can walk to major sites or take a short taxi ride. Owners are extremely friendly and speak good English. Place is clean. We had a loft with a private bathroom. A very pleasant stay.

非常推薦這裡！

這次去京都在 guesthouse soi 待了三個晚上
房間非常的乾淨舒適，大小也很 ok
老闆和櫃檯服務人員都非常的熱情，中文日文溝通完全沒有障礙
這裡還提供腳踏車出租的服務
巷口就有公車站牌，交通上也十分便利
很滿意這次的京都旅行
以後會想再回來這裡住～
非常推薦大家選擇這裡作為京都旅行的休息站！
