The room was spotless, and exactly what we wanted. The hotel is clean, in a great location, and very minimilistic. We would stay here again if we ever make it back to Kyoto.

Where this hotel is situated is very convenient and in between the old and new areas that Kyoto has to offer. It is close to shops and transport. We had enough space for a family of 5.

The room was large and spacious. The bed was comfortable. Just a short walk to the main street for the Gion District. The access to extra needed items; like toothbrushes, tea, coffee, towels, etc in the hallway is convenient.

Great location, near bus and a few blocks from the subway. Room was spacious and updated. Love the shower! Limited front desk hours, but not an issue. Clean towels were readily available.

Great location, clean and convenient.

Excellent location. Convenient and clean room for family of 4. It was big enough for us as our 4 small suitcases fit under the beds, but if you travel with anything beyond check-in size suitcases there is only space for 2 on the ground. Check-in & out was super easy, staff was very helpful. The only downside was that the dryers could only handle tiny loads. We washed 2 big loads but then ended up air drying most of it on hangers in our room as the dryer was not very powerful, even at a 1/3 of our wash load. In the end it all worked out and I would stay here again for the location and value. We have 2 big teenage boys, so they enjoyed not needing to share a bed and each got their own twin.

Great Room Great Location

Couldn’t have asked for a better location. Around the corner of train and bus. Walking distance of infinite dining options and shopping. So close to everything. Really clean and comfortable. And the rainfall shower head is the best ever. I’m gonna get one for my home. Five Stars.

Location was great. Four of us stayed. Too tight. NO counter space at all. NO freezer in small fridge. NO microwave in room. NO lamps or variable lighting. Seemed all lights were either on or off. Might be ok for 2.

My daughters and I loved our stay in Kabin MInamiza. It is in an excellent location, close to many restaurants and attractions in Kyoto. The beds are comfortable and the rooms are nice. We would return there.

Ideal location

Great location, Kyoto is very walkable from the Kabin. Windows don’t open, so can get a bit stuffy. Rooms are a good size for Japan

A great place for our Kyōto stay. With a Family of 4, it was the most spacious accomodation of our 2 weeks Japan trip. Right in the heart of Gion. Plenty of restaurants nearby, washer/dryer. I highly recommend!

The room we stayed was spacious and we had enough room for the 3 of us. Check in was an easy process through the app and the staff was helpful during the times they are designated to be there. We liked that the hotel had laundry onsite and we were 16mins walk distance from multiple cultural sites.

A great stay. In the heart of everything. This is a self service hotel - very new. There was some stains in the carpet, but overall clean. We had a spacious room for 5 people.

We liked how small and lowkey this property is. It appears to be a newly converted hotel with only a few rooms across several floors. We only saw another guest once during our 5 night stay. The room itself was pretty basic and had two beds plus a sleeper sofa. We found some hair on the floor but overall the room was clean. Our favorite thing about the property was the location, as it is a 5 minute walk to public transit and there are several bars and restaurants right on the same street.

Would highly recommend KABIN and would go back to book the same place as well as other properties. Great staff communication as well as accessibility. Lots of room which is hard to find in Japan.

I spent about 3 nights with these guys. I loved the location, the staff were helpful and friendly. Every thing was easy to get to including public transport to get to attractions further out. I wish I could be there right now, loved it!

Overall it was a good stay. We chose this room so that we would have extra space. It was walking distance to temples, shrines, streets of Gion, and Nishiki Market.

The things we didn’t like was no staff interaction. Check-in/check-out is all automated, so you don’t have staff to ask questions to. The windows of the room were frosted, so you couldn’t look outside and check the skies for the weather. Even though it was close to a subway station, the Keihan line didn’t travel directly to the places we wanted to go. We ended up using buses and taxis for our visit.

Very large room by Japan standards, and incredibly clean, modern, and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The location is perfectly central in Gion while being just outside the area of nighttime noise. Perfect stay for the three of us with room to spare in one of their larger rooms.

Céntrico y pequeño

Hotel muy bien situado en una zona comercial y de restauracion con mucho ambiente. Cerca de buses y metro/tren. Hotel pequeño con habitacion y baño bastante reducidos. Dormimos en una habitación 4 personas y era complicado moverse y poner el equipsje en algun sitio. Hicimos el check in y check out sin recepcionista. Solo está unas horas determinadas. No hay opcion de desayuno.

Brand new hotel, I think the paint was still drying when we checked in. It is a very modern hotel, self checkin through an app. Almost never anyone at the front desk. Hotel is immaculate and the room is spacious. Bathroom is great! Kyoto is a City where restaurant reservations are a must, so having a full time front desk would have been nice to help. For younger travelers this is probably perfect, but for older travelers it might be better to be in a more traditional hotel. Cannot beat the location, and there is a great takoyaki place across the street.
