The staff are so helpful and kind. They gave us good advice about what to see and how to get those places. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and brand new! A/C was just right and that made hot-and-humid days tolerable. We watched Olympics on big screen TV in our room. The location was little far from bus and trains stations (8-11mins), but everything else about this hotel was superb. Definetly worth more than we paid for.

Obviously, this is not a 5 star property but it was 5 stars for what it was! It has a very hostel vibe to it - the main lobby area is very dark and “modern”. Our room was very spacious and clean, and we appreciated having a little table and chairs. They do not clean the room unless you stay longer than 4 nights, but amenities and towels are available to grab as needed so it wasn’t a problem for us. It was a convenient location for us, about a 10 minute walk from the centre area of Kyoto. It was nice to be able to grab a coffee as most places aren’t open early, but highly recommend Coyote coffee just across the street and Dining 603 (breakfast) a few blocks away.

Vi boede på Kabin Kyoto under vores rundrejse i Japan, og det var en oplevelse, vi virkelig nød. Hotellet ligger i et roligt område, men stadig tæt på Kyotos mest ikoniske seværdigheder, hvilket gjorde det nemt at kombinere afslapning med sightseeing. Værelserne er rummelige, smukt indrettede og meget komfortable – en sjælden luksus i Japan. Sengene er fantastiske, og badeværelset er stort og veludstyret.
Servicen fortjener stor ros: personalet er venligt, hjælpsomt og altid klar med gode anbefalinger. Vi følte os velkomne fra første øjeblik. Beliggenheden, komforten og den varme atmosfære gør Kabin Kyoto til et perfekt valg for par, der ønsker kvalitet og ro. Vi kan kun anbefale det og glæder os til at komme tilbage!

Staff was very quick to rectify a leak in the water jug which had dampened the floor around our mini fridge. Great checkin and check out with online process and automatic door. Very streamlined. Big regret however is their one laundry machine per floor was not adequate, and on my floor there was none and it steamed the clothes in the dry cycle instead of drying them so we had to hang our clothes up to dry. Would have preferred a laundry room with many machines instead. Great coffee from the small bar attached.

KABIN is an exceptional hotel. The staff was so nice and helpful and the aesthetic of it is overall amazing. Everything is convenient. Highly recommend KABIN if you’re in Kyoto!

Great central hotel with very helpful and friendly staff. Within walking distance of a lot of Kyoto's sights and handy as well for metro and shops. Lots of options for breakfast/lunch and dinner nearby too.

Breakfast not served everyday--which was difficult as there is no other place nearby. Reception staff were not knowledgeable--resorted to google to search--which anyone can do! Bar also was not open everyday! No place to store luggage on the property. So you have to take it to their sister property!

Dirty! I had high expectations for this hotel however I was met with extreme disappointment and disgust. Long story short, our bedding was soiled with blood, and it caused my skin to completely breakout in hives. I was offered a two night stay refund for the inconvenience and they would not hear of a full refund.

Checkin process was very long and my key didn’t work - they forgot our door was malfunctioning and I received a physical key after two trips up and down. No cleaning service, they leave all supplies by the elevator. Clean, close to many attractions, front staff friendly and knowledgeable. Pretty far from subway station if you have to bring a lot of luggage (recommend taking a Grab/taxi).

The room was incredibly clean and surprisingly spaceous for Japan. The location is ideal and we were able to walk almost everywhere in Kyoto. Additionally, the staff were all incredibly helpful and found us some great dinner spots.

Spacious room and very comfortable. Within 10mins walk to the Shijo dori main shopping area, Teramachi and Nishiki markets maybe 12mins.
Lots of bus stops within a short walk
An excellent coin laundry just a couple of doors up the street and a seven eleven around the corner.

This hotel was located in a very nice area, close to shopping, train stations and historical sights. Staff was very friendly. Room was large and spacious, compared to other hotels I stayed at in Japan. The cafe served a delicious breakfast (not included)

Great Kyoto Stay

We loved the casual feel of this hotel. All the staff were super welcoming every time you arrived or left the building. Walkable to many attractions. We enjoyed a glass of wine at the bar every evening. A lovely way to end the day

Great stay at Kabin Hotel! Our room was cozy and clean with comfy beds. The location was outstanding - near restaurant options and the Nishiki Market. Easy bus nearby to the Arashiyama Monkey Park and Bamboo Forrest. You can rent a boat to row across from the monkey park to the bamboo forests, which was a great extra surprise. Staff recommended a great restaurant / hibachi style all you can eat.
At the end of our stay, we needed to store our luggage for the day, and they were amazing and had a huge space for this at the other location around the corner. Super easy. Wed absolutely stay here again!

Not a 4* experience for sure

Average level of experience. For sure it didn’t feel like a 4* one. The room was quite good although some of the furniture had faulty closing/ opening mechanisms. I also didn’t appreciate at all the fact that when l asked them at checkout to store my luggage for a couple of hours, they told me that there was no space and asked me to carry my luggage to the neighbor Kabin Taka hotel (very bad). Also the view of the room was terrible as the room had a construction site view, which fortunately enough wasn’t very noisy. The most weird part was that if we wanted them to make up our room every day we had to pay extra l, we had to notify them if we wanted to pick-up garbage and if we wanted fresh towels every day, we had to get them by ourselves. All these are for sure not a 4* experience and are little but quite important things that you don’t know when you book the room

The facility was essentially located near other restaurants and tourist sites. It had a bar, restaurant and rest area; very clean. The rooms were spacious. The staff was professional and courteous. They had laundry services.

Perfect location just 10min from the main strip/centre which made it a quiet location. Super modern and clean and ended up being our most luxurious hotel that we stayed in during our holiday. Huge rooms and great bathroom too. Only 50m from a Lawson and 7Eleven too. Recommend staying here if you are visiting Kyoto.

Great location and wonderful property. Had a great stay. About 25 minute walk from station and 9 minutes to food market. There is also an amazing bakery nearby for morning pastries!

Cómodo y limpio

Nos gustó muchísimo, las áreas comunes son muy lindas, el árbol en medio del hotel lo hace muy acogedor. Las habitaciones son amplias y cómodas; todo muy limpio. Lo único que no nos gustó, fue encontrar todas las luces prendidas de nuestra habitaciones el día que tocó limpieza, la cuál por cierto es solo 1 por cada 3 noches de hospedaje. Por todo lo demás, nos gustó mucho, la ubicación y amenidades. Si lo recomendamos ampliamente.

地点还算不错，浴巾和其它住宿用品自己到电梯旁更换即可，入住时有些不适应，需要再次填写自己到信息包括信用卡，而不是直截了当的付费，有些麻烦。楼下酒吧晚上会有不少游客，但房间的隔音不错。

The room size is big for japan standard. Plus they have laundry on every floor. The shower is amazingly strong and the temperature is hot. The location is amazing. Close to all resturants and shops. Will stay there again.

Enjoyed the location, comfortable beds and rainfall shower.

Overall the hotel is in a great location, has a modern feel in the common areas and a great bar plus breakfast restaurant.

Reasons for my 3 stars: rooms are dated and basic, carpet is dusty.

Worth knowing: luggage cannot be stored on site (except for when using a luggage shipping service), has on site laundry machines, no ice machines and limited cleaning (daily cleaning available for a fee).

Everything was good.
3 points though:
1- On Tuesdays their rest/breakfast is closed!! Never saw hotel breakfast closing…
2- They don’t let rental bikes sleep over in front of hotel even when the have a nice place for it!!
3- Depending on kind of guests, we can hear them talking outside (inner courtyard) even after 10 PM

Overall a great experience. The room was very good size with a king bed. The staff was great and location was perfect. Only small negatives were pillows were not great and they only cleaned once during a week stay.

Lots of foreigners here working and staying. New and clean. Great bar. Good size room for Japan. Comfy bed. Small but fabulous shower. Easy walk to a bunch of restaurants. No bottled water but many vending machines on the street right in front.

Really enjoyed our stay it's quite a walk back and forth to the old town. But this keeps you out of the crowds which can be quite brutal in Kyoto. You're very close to the big shopping area. Room was a decent size, and a sharp contrast to Osaka and Tokyo where accommodation is really pokey at this price point. Very easy to recommend.

The room is beautifully designed. Bed was nice. Almost everything was within 10 mins or less of walking. We went to Osaka and station was 10 mins. Lovely restaurants within 10 mins or less.

Wonderful, we loved the property. Comfortable hotel stay for lots of in-and-out daily activities. Close to lots of restaurants and areas, all walkable. Comfortable rooms with plenty of size and convenience. Very nice bathrooms and great showers. Would definitely stay again.

We stayed in Kabin Kyoto for 4 nights and are happy with our time there The room is clean, spacious, with coin-operated laundry machines available at each floor. The hotel is on a quiet street, but 10 minutes walk to Nishki market, a few minutes walk to the Shijo station, and around 15 minutes walk to Gion. We didn’t try breakfast in the hotel restaurant, because a small size of black coffee there costs 680 yen, more than double the price of coffee in Family Mart and tastes worse.
