チェックインの際に、スタッフさんが冷たいお茶を出してくれてとてもいい気分になりました。

予約ではシングルベッド3台となっていましたが、実際には布団3人分だったのが気になりました。
また、フロントに電話する電話機の置き場がわかりにくかったです。

Solid Budget Ryokan Near Ueno

Reasonable location to Iriya station. Polite and helpful staff. The rooms were quite small. The futons were of minimal thickness and so were not really comfortable for sleeping on the floor. We did not use the public bath due to additional cost (unexpected) and requirement to schedule. The private bath was tiny and difficult to enter and exit. The staff were nice but we did have to ask for water and the tea ceremony listed on the website did not exist anymore. We did not get the food offerings. The nearby Iriya Plus cafe was good for breakfast. We stayed 4 nights and found it a reasonable accommodation but would not stay here again.

The hotel is super clean and comfortable. The metro station is few minutes walk from the hotel. Room is spacious enough. Breakfast is delicious. Also the family bath relax me after walking all day long in the city centre. Staffs are super friendly and show the hospitality of Japan. I’m so happy to find this accommodation in Tokyo.

Very nice stay in a quiet neighborhood, close to multiple train stations. Staff were very friendly and spoke English very well. Spotless and spacious rooms. You can ask for extra mattresses if the mattresses in traditional dadami rooms are too thin for you. Had the salmon and rice set for breakfast which were delicious.

We felt like we were able to enjoy a traditional Japanese ryokan experience as a foreigner. The attention to detail was excellent and the staff was all very helpful. The location is quiet, but gives you easy access to a lot of transportation. We also enjoyed walking around the neighborhood and over to Asakusa. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others who are seeking an experience with more culture than an average hotel.

좁고 어두웠어요

후기가 좋길래 기대가 컸나봐요.
좋았던 점은 직원들이 친절하고, 도쿄에서 다다미방을 쓸수 있다는 색다른 경험이었던 것 같아요.
하지만 저희가 묵었던 방은 햇볕도 안들고 불투명 유리에 창살까지 있어서 숙박하는 내내 좁은 지하에 갇혀지낸 기분이었네요. 숙소에 있으면 우울해졌어요.
수돗물이 깨끗하니 그걸 먹으라며 기본 생수도 제공되지 않았어요. 그나마 가까운곳에 편의점이 있어서 다행이었네요.
룸안에 거울도 없었고, 욕실 바닥은 미끄러우니 물기가 있을땐 꼭 슬리퍼를 신고 들어가세요...
다음엔 좀더 세심하게 숙소를 골라야겠네요.

Edo Sakura

Thi is a lovely little hotel. The staff was super helpful and charming. The room was quite cozy, and while it was not very big, that is to be expected in Tokyo.

We pucked it because it is walking distance to Ueno park, the Yamanote train line and a subway line. The staff was super friendly! Most spoke some English and some quite amazing English. We eat great Japanese breakfast and resered the private bath one night, whic was lovely after a day of traveling. We were a 5 minute walk from the subway and 15 from the train. We'd highly recommend it! Only only tiny complaint is that the futons seemed a bit thin. However, that may be just because we are so accustomed to Western mattresses.

Decent place to stay if you’re looking for the ryokan experience in Tokyo. Room was a bit lacking for the price, though because there was not a bidet in the toilet. They offer unique experiences like tea ceremony. I would recommend it for the novelty experience but if you’re looking for a longer term stay like a week I would suggest elsewhere as it was not very close to train stations.

Das Hotel war wirklich sehr schön. Wir hatten eine ruhige Umgebung, was zum Kontrast von Tokio super passt, wenn man einen langen Tag unterwegs unterwegs war.

Der Service war super, wir konnten auch unsere Sachen waschen und das war sehr unkompliziert. Einfach an der Rezeption abgeben.

Wenn du neben Der lauten und großen Stadt Tokio eine gute Unterkunft. Suchst mit etwas Ruhe dann bist du hier genau richtig.

Buche ruhig ein traditionelles Zimmer. Es ist auf jeden Fall eine Erfahrung wert, auch wenn für Europäer es wahrscheinlich etwas hart sein wird. 😅😅👍

Great service but need to work on the room

Helpful and very welcoming staffs. Room is not so well maintained. Humid in the room. Bathroom is small (Have stayed in hotels in Japan, and this is quite small). The wooden bed frame or floor (can't tell which one) makes sound on every toss and turn you make on the bed. There's a desk in the room, which is a plus when you travel with work.

The amazing staff really made this stay special. They helped us book reservations, call cabs, and make special arrangements for our stay. It’s inside a quiet neighborhood with hidden cafes, a bakery, and a Ministop for snacks. It’s a 6 minute walk to the Iriya station for the Hibiya Line making it easy access to Ginza, Ueno, Akihabara, or anywhere you want to go. When you stay, definitely reserve a bath and order breakfast for a memorable experience!

BOCCIATO, NON RISPONDENTE ALLA DESCRIZIONE

L'hotel pubblicizza sul sito servizi che non corrisponde: la cerimonia del tè che l'hotel pubblicizza sul sito con grande enfasi e dovrebbe esserci tutte le mattine alle 10, NON C'E'. A noi hanno detto che non c'era perchè il maestro di cerimonia era assente, a Hotels.com hanno risposto che è sospesa causa Covid.
La vasca idromassaggio che loro pubblicizzano come Onsen ed è tra i servizi gratuiti dell'hotel, è in realtà una piccola vasca in pietra che va prenotatata e PAGATA a parte.
Abbiamo soggiornato in tre per 2 giorni in questo hotel, il primo giorno una persona dello staff per mostrarci le funzioni della stanza ha applicato il cartello "non disturbare " all'esterno della porta e se lo è dimenticato lì. Al nostro ritorno la sera dopo abbiamo trovato la camera da fare. Non si sono offerti nè di riassettarci la camera visto che l'errore era loro, nè di sostituirci almeno la biancheria del bagno. Attenzione: dovete lasciare acceso 24 ore l'aspiratore del bagno (parecchio rumoroso), se lo spegnete dopo circa un'ora arriva dal bagno un fortissimo odore di fognature. Alla nostra richiesta di un rimborso parziale l'hotel ha negato le sue responsabilità. A differenza di tutti gli altri hotel in cui abbiamo alloggiato in Giappone sempre sopra le nostre aspettative, questo è stato una delusione totale sotto tutti i punti di vista.

Recommended!

Wonderful, friendly international staff. Great Japanese breakfast option. Room was good, but just a tad worn. Not a problem for me, as it was at an excellent price. Reserve the Japanese style bath at least one night of your stay.

The oden izakaya restaurant just around the corner (Oillia) is also great.

The bottom bedding lacked cushioning. The laundry facilities and onsen use had a separate charge. The onsen was next to the kitchen, you could hear pots banging, staff talking, and smell the food being prepared. In general, the staff was overeager in a slightly invasive way.

Excellent Choice

Amazing! You will enjoy staying at the Edo Sakura so much! Breakfast is delicious, the staff are super friendly, the rooms are clean & comfortable, and there is a free morning traditional tea service. Why stay in a room the size of a drawer at other hotels for the same price? Plus there is a gorgeous temple right around the corner. Best choice in Asakusa for sure!

Typique mais un peu cher.

Joli ryokan, quartier tranquille , petit déjeuner japonais magnifique avec possibilité de petit dej plus classique. Typiquement touristique, je regrette juste le tarif un peu élevé pour les prestations car tout est payant ,le petit dej comme le bain, même si le tarif est très raisonnable.

A bit expensive for what it is and the location

Located in somewhat residential area of Taito city, this small hotel is acceptable. I feel however it is too expensive for what it is, approx. 130 USD for a night. Super thin futon mats that you unwrap for night time. Very bare bathroom. Nothing explicitly bad, but should be a bit cheaper per night for the bare amenities provided. Staff is very nice and friendly.

Super hôtel! Le personnel est impeccable. C’est un peu « loin » (10 minutes de marche d’une gare non centralisée), mais cet établissement vaut la peine, puisqu’il est dans un secteur résidentiel et donc non bruyant. Le déjeuner japonais est délicieux; nous l’avons commandé deux fois. Le bain privé est plaisant, mais petit pour deux personnes de taille moyenne. Pour ceux qui pourraient avoir mal au dos en dormant sur le futon, vous pouvez toujours demander un matelas supplémentaire. :)

This is the best hotel we have ever stayed in and it made our trip to Tokyo stress free and a mixture of exciting and relaxing! The hotel just looked and felt amazing, with genuinely friendly staff that asked us every evening how our day had been, speaking english while encouraging our understanding of Japanese aswell. We stayed in a traditional room and loved the tatami and futons, but wished we could look out the window more since it felt a bit enclosed in the room. The fridge was very handy as we often bought takeaway back to eat and the shower was easy to use, as was the AC after a long day. Breakfast was delicious (I loved the thick toast especially). We loved exploring the neighborhood, a local traditional restaurant and bakery were our favourite places to visit, and being so close to Iriya station made travelling around Tokyo simple. We are missing the Edo Sakura so much and wish we had stayed even longer! We will be back in the future!! Thank you so much to all of the staff that made our short time in Japan so amazing.

A perfect japanese style hotel

We want to escape the big international common hotel and decide to live in a japanese style hotel.

The situation is great, well connected to the busy live of Tokyo .

Made my first visit to Tokyo a joy.

From the moment I entered the doors of this lovely little inn, I was made to feel so welcome and cared for. Such a great feeling after a long flight. Very comfortable futon, a little warm in the room but I was able to open the window. Quiet. Restful. Very good breakfast (salmon) -- thank you Yoko! Very reasonably priced, close to the subway and rail connections. Walking distance to Ueno Park and the Senso-ji Temple in the Asakusa neighbourhood. For someone who'd never been to Japan, didn't know the language or my way around, this was the ideal place. Good for families as well. Arigato!

安靜的好地方

很道地很傳統的飯店，東西很好吃，也可以體驗到很多日本傳統文化
服務親切，很周到!
附近有蠻多小店可以去逛，但是要小心別迷路了，因為飯店的位置在巷子的深處
所以找的時候要非常小心，相信自己往前走就對了!

Traditionelle Athmosphäre mit modernem Standard

Alles in diesem Hotel is traditionell japanisch eingerichtet. Aber mit allem westlichen Komfort (Fahrstuhl, Klimaanlage, Bad, ..): Man kann westliche Zimmer oder japanische Zimmer (Futon) buchen. Auch beim Frühstück (kostet extra) hat man die Wahl zwischen Toast mit Marmelade oder Fisch mit Miso.
Also optimal um die japanische Kultur risikofrei zu erkkunden. Alles war extrem sauber.
Ich hatte ein japanisches Zimemr und habe auf dem Futon sehr gut geschalfen.
Die Mitarbeiterinnen sprechen gutes Englisch, sind immer erreichbar und unglaublich freundlich.
2 Blocks von der U-Bahn Station entfernt.
Ansonsten ist das Viertel eher typischer Tokyo Alltag (inlusive Supermarkt und Restaurants), aber keine touristischen Höhepunkte in der Nähe.

Ryokan Quirky but Lacking

Location and style is all great here but a few things need addressing,
The futon mattresses are too thin for our western bodies! Though fun they provide little comfort overnight.
Please provide CHAIRS in room!
It was reductions that we had to sit on the floor to make a cup of tea.
Charming and extremely well trained staff! Thankyou for making our stay so welcoming.

Great hotel to get a sense of Japanese culture

fabulous hotel to get a real Japanese feel with its quaint gardens, tea ceremony and amazing hospitality. This our second time and this time we were there in time for the morning glory festival and were treating to free food and drinks at the hotel.

Comfortable, charming hotel

This hotel is a charming little place in a residential area of Tokyo. The rooms are comfortable and clean with their own bathroom and air con. I stayed in one of the traditional style rooms which had the rollout futon mattresses which can be a bit thinner than what westerners are used to but are still quite cosy.

The hotel is in a residential area but is a five minute walk from Iriya metro station which is only one stop from the Ueno hub station so it's easy enough to get around the city.

The staff are also very friendly. I would recommend this place to anyone.
