外国人観光者向けのホテルです。
周りに観光スポットがたくさんあり、観光客には便利です。大浴場は3人入ればいっぱいなので、時間別に貸し切りにするのは外国人観光客には好評と思われます。しかし、好きなときに風呂に入りたい、朝風呂を楽しみたいといった私のような客にはちょっと不便です。特に観光目的ではなかったので、駅から遠いこと、分かりにくい場所、コンビニが近くにないことがマイナス点でした。

Location is good, room is clean, bed is comfortable.
The most amazing part was the private hotspring!! It was my first time to take the Japanese hotspring, the bath is hot enough to warm up my body.

The hotel also provide a sign that advised how to take a hotspring bath. Really helpful especially for me.

Just a bit pity that no many stores opened at night, also stairs are steep, be careful once you have luggage with you.

It was a nice stayover, and the front desk staff was very heartwarming.We arrived before check-in time, and they allowed us to drop luggage first.Then we walked to Nara Park, Toudaiji, and Kasuga Temple, where we met lots of Nara deer.
The weather was a bit cold but might be very beautiful during cherry blossom season.
The room was in Japanese style with tatami and mattresses, which is good for people who are not used to Japanese beds.
What we were not so satified with was that the room was small and the TV was small; there was no refrigerator in the room.
There was a washlet and a wash tank in the room.The air conditioner looked pretty new and worked well.
Ryokan also provided private hot spring bathing time, around 40 minutes. We enjoyed the private hotspring time and actually had fun.
We really enjoyed the time and are glad we had a stay-out in Nara.

The walls seem very thin. The room below me was talking well into the night. I had to sleep with the TV on to drown out the noise. Other than that, everything was good

This ryokan is very charming and also very close to the tourist areas, but in the narrow side streets so it is quite quiet. I really enjoyed this place. I strongly recommend!

Stayed 1 night at Nara Ryokan. Generally we had a good time but there were a few issues that took away from the experience slightly (hence 4 stars instead of 5). Pros were:

- Private onsen was really lovely after a long day of walking
- Room itself was quite spacious and 'felt' like a real Ryokan (although it's more of an approximation of a Ryokan than a real one)
- Beds were large and mattresses relatively comfortable

Cons:
- Maybe this is a normal feature of a Ryokan, but there were no curtains or way of reducing the light in the morning. Did not sleep well as a consequence
- Staff could have been more helpful. Waited 10 minutes at reception for assistance before a staff member finally showed up.

Lovely quiet ryokan with onsen

Our stay at Nara Ryokan was perfect - very lovely quiet stay and beautiful rooms, and an amazing onsen/public bath. It wasn't listed for the hotel, but you are able to reserve a "family time" for the onsen use where I was able to privately share the onsen together with my husband and our friends with tattoos were also able to utilize for their own private time, which was a great experience, particularly with the provided robes and slippers. The hotel is about a 10min walk away from the main station, and just around the corner from a lovely park with a nearby Starbucks and small park where the deer freely hangout and roam around. A truly lovely place to stay, would definitely stay here again!

Great Ryokan, poor staff.

Was initially going to leave a worse review after a terrible interaction with the woman on the front desk after she put use in a basic room after we paid for deluxe, then refused to move us. However the charm of the Ryokan itself, the great onsen and the free massage chairs somewhat made up for the rude service when checking in.

We had the double and the room was very nice and quite big. Great location. Nice small onsen. Looks like the rooms have been redone recently.

This ryokan is close to Nara Koen where deers are and 30mins walk to Daibutsu. The room was just like a joke. It remains me uni student flats in Showa, small 4 tatami rooms and futon. In Japanese, futons need to be folded down into three and stored in the cupboard called Oshiire but the futon was placed by the window just like a bed. I was quite uncomfortable with this and folded it down to lean against that just like a sofa. The wall is paper thin as I was annoyed by next door guests who were chatting till 11pm. The bath was not real onsen. Despite it got negative comments, I enjoyed the big bathtub as it was hot and I could stretch myself. But sadly, a bit yuaka was flotiong on water surface.
Overall, it was a good, rather funny experience. I guess this ryokan is for budget travelers.

It was super easy to walk to from the metro. The area was quiet, peaceful, and there was a great area for shopping and eating. Nara park was not far. The ryokan was incredible and the temperature was perfect. The rooms were super clean and I love that they provided amenities.

Traditionellt boende i hjärtat av Nara

Kommer jag tillbaka till Nara så är det här boendet givet! Trevligt, traditionella rum med tvagning med stora badkar på entréplan. Trevlig personal och perfekt läge i staden med nära till park, tempel, shopping och restauranger. Tänk på att boka middag i förväg på helgen så det snabbt blir fullt!

There is a big bathing area with 2 shower heads and an Onsen bath tub. Private usage will be limited within 40 min per session, then there are public hours. Nice water!

We had a great stay!! It was great to be able to leave our bags before check in. The location was fantastic, and staff were so friendly! The private onsen time was a highlight of our whole trip. Would highly recommend!!

The property is outstanding and the staff are very willing to help if you are amenable to no chairs in the room and only sitting on the floor. Also the room has no shower, so you either must use shower during your private time or if you miss you time slot you have no choice but to use it during public time. For ladies two showers, so at worse you will share with one other person.

I really liked the location and the property. Quiet and clean. The staff I spoke with were helpful and thankfully they were able to speak English really well. They even explained the etiquette of bathing in the hot spring area and walked me through that process. The only thing I wish could’ve been different was being able to store my bag earlier in the day but it’s not a big deal as there are locker rentals at the station maybe 1/4-1/2 mile away. There is a private restroom in each room

Parfait, le service global proposé est très bon et les employés courtois et agréable.

Possibilité de parlé en Anglais pour celles et ceux qui ne parle pas Japonais.

Petit conseil pour trouver plus facilement le Nara Ryokan, noter "Nara Ryokan" sur le GPS et non l'adresse car mon GPS ne reconnaissait pas l'adresse, j'ai pu le trouver facilement grâce à de l'aide sur place.

A bit noisy but comfortable

Nara Ryokan was clean, comfortable, and convenient. We loved using the onsen during our private time, and we found the beds easy to sleep on. It was a little noisy since we could hear doors opening and closing in the rooms next to us all night, but aside from that it was a great place to stay! The location was great: easy waking to al the sights.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Affordable, clean and well located ryokan… our first stay in a ryokan, and highly recommend. They also have an onsen, which was very relaxing.

This Ryokan is located just a short walk to the major gardens and Shrines, and it's in the charming Nara town tradtional layout of buildings. It's all wonderful to get around on foot. The staff were most courteous and friendly, i felt like a welcome guest, and recommend this ryokan highly. Arigato gozaimas ta, Nara Ryokan!
