最近では、普通のビジネスホテルでも用意されているフェイシャルアメニティが撤去されているとのことで、部屋には置かれてなかった。

わざわざ電話をして取り寄せることになったのが、残念。

癒しのひととき

初めて宿泊した時より、ホスピタリティーがかなり上がった。１泊の予定がつい延泊してしまう程寛げる。お寺や素敵な庭園に囲まれて、帰る頃には浄化されてる？感じがする。ラウンジでのフリードリンク(時間制)タイムも、ここにしか無いアメニティも楽しみの１つ。
１点だけ、食事は和食が良い。得に朝食では、和朝食でもパン。ご飯とお味噌汁が恋しい。オールダイニングを希望したい。
(和を望む方には道路を挟んだ斜め前のスーパーはお惣菜が充実しているのでオススメ)
宿の近く、お寺さん、京セラ美術館、ロームシアター、甘味処、地元民に愛されてるおうどんやさん等、お散歩しながら行くのも楽しい。
落ち着いた宿なので、初一人旅にもオススメ。

静かで岡崎周辺の美術館にも近く南禅寺や永観堂も徒歩圏内で便利でした。駅からは離れていますがスタッフの対応も素晴らしく心地よい滞在ができました。

娘が会社帰りに9時過ぎにチェックインしたので、この素晴らしいホテルでもう少し長く贅沢な時間を過ごしたかったです。

大人の隠れ家

ガーデンビューのお部屋に宿泊
お寺や木々に囲まれ 静寂とあたたかなおもてなしに感動して延泊 ゆっくりと時間が流れ ホテルでありながら旅館の様にも感じる
いきつけのお蕎麦屋さん(平安神宮の直ぐ近く)へ お散歩しながら約15分位 道中素敵な雑貨屋さんや 甘味処あり
朝ごはんがもう少し 和テイストだったら完璧 帰り際は女性スタッフ三名で見送って貰い また帰りたいと思わせてくれた
とにかくリラックス出来る素晴らしいホテル

今回も最高！

2月にあまりに素敵だったので、母を連れてきました。今回は2泊。
早々とアーリーチェックイン。お部屋はガーデンの前回とは逆向きの同じく3階。枯山水は桜。
母は一旦すぐにベッドに横になったのですが、こちらのシモンズのベッドと同じものを購入したいと申したくらい快適だったよう。
フリーフローもまたオードブルが被らないようにしてくださりました。
2日目はAustralian、Newyorker、Chinese、そしてBoston からと英語圏の方々と母ともども楽しい時間を過ごすことができました。
朝食は限定のものを選べたので一日はこちらに。
正解でした。
終始スタッフの方々が前回のオーダーを覚えてくださってて、的確なサジェスト。
こんなに気持ち良くゆっくりと宿泊できるのは世界中でこちらだけでは。
恭しすぎず、フレンドリーな親しみやすい一流の接客。
今度は桜の時期にもまた少し雪のある時期にも来たいね、次は3泊したいねと母と話しています。
スタッフの皆様、ありがとうございました。

Would definitely stay here again

My mom and I really enjoyed our stay. We could see a temple from our hotel. That was really nice. The hotel staff were super friendly and accommodating. Everyone communicates in English well, so that makes things super smooth for us. Breakfast was fantastic. The only reason I didn't give full score for service was because we had to wait for quite some time for our breakfast to come on the second day. We were not in a rush, so it was fine, but it would have been stressful if we had been.

ホテルオークラのサービスの歴史を感じる上質なホテル

全体としては価格に相応しい素晴らしいホテルの設備とサービスそして食事だったと思います。
唯一の不満。バスタブの材質のせいか、バスタブの底が滑りやすと感じました。夫婦ともに足を滑らせ、後から入る私のためにバスタブを少し洗っていた妻が、本格的に滑り、バスタブの手すりで腰を強打して、現在痛みがひどくなっています。休み明けに一度医者に診てもらうと話しています。同じような方が他にもいらっしゃらないのでしょうか？大きな事故にならないことを願いますが、一度バスタブのクオリティは確認された方が良いように思いました。

We were excited to stay at this hotel with our toddler. Unfortunately despite it being advertised on Expedia that cribs were free, we were surprised at check-in with a 2000 Yen ($20 CAD) charge per night for the use of a crib. We eventually got this charge refunded, but not without hassle. The first night my in-laws, staying in the room next door, only had lukewarm water for their shower. On the second night I went to bathe my toddler and only had cool water. When I brought it up the next day with staff (I did not bring it up that night as we were tired, cold, and it was past baby's bed time) a staff member came to our room to show me how to use the shower. Despite me clearly communicating using a translation app that I knew how to access hot water, there just wasn't any hot water, I was basically told that it was user error on my end since there was no hot water. I don't think that their hot water facilities are sufficient for the size of the property. While I can accept a charge for a crib (but not when it is advertised as free), and I can accept a less than ideal shower, I can not accept either of these things given how expensive the hotel was. If I was paying a rate for a basic hotel? Sure. But when a property charges luxury prices, a hot shower is a basic amenity expected. I would not stay at any Hotel Okura again.

This is a fabulous hotel to stay at. My family and I loved the experience.

Staff met us before the door and used a cart to bring our luggage inside. We were met immediately and offered comfortable seats and asked for our passports. They found our reservation and checked us in. They noticed that one of our children would be celebrating his birthday during our stay and brought him gifts of chopsticks. The service was stellar and continued at this high level throughout our stay and beyond (they shipped items we left to our next stop on our tour).

The rooms are comfortable, very clean, and roomy. The mattresses and pillows are very comfortable. We found origami cranes on our bed, which was a lovely touch.

Breakfast exceeded our expectations.There was a first course of breads with a bento box. We ordered the American breakfast but it came with very Japanese touches: salad with local greens, a salmon sushi, and several others. The main course was equally wonderful.

The hotel property abuts a shrine and they created a garden space that was as nice as the shrine. We were with walking distance to the Philosophers Path.

We used the buses to get to the city center. Stops for the various lines were a few steps from the hotel and just around the corner. We also walked there and back on our first evening.

The hotel staff were gracious and efficient in getting us a taxi reservation to the main train station and communicated our destination to our driver.

It was a beautiful hotel and the service was impeccable. Only issue I had was there was no business center. However, I made the lobby area work and had an amazing view into the garden. Would definitely come again.

Very smart hotel with stylish rooms and a quiet garden, within striking distance of a number of the key sites. Very friendly and helpful staff. Just be careful with taxi drivers to say Ukura Bettei - there is another Okura in another part of town where they will go if you don’t mention Bettei clearly.

This is an elegant, serene hotel that offers reprieve from the crowded touristy areas but is at the same time incredibly accessible by bus. Very nice supermarket across the street. I wouldn’t change anything about our stay. It was lovely.

An exquisite experience in every regard - a luxurious, new boutique hotel with outstanding service from the concierges and the waitstaff in the restaurant at breakfast. The property is elegant and everyone who works here goes above and beyond. Rooms on the north side have views of the serene garden behind the hotel - as do every seat in the restaurant. The Okazaki neighborhood is quiet and lovely, away from the crowds and right near gorgeous temples and shrines, museums, and the philosophers path. This was our second visit this year and if we are ever lucky enough to return to Kyoto we will rush back to the Hotel Okura Kyoto Okazaki Bettei. Worth every penny for an experience like this.

Staff are helpful and polite. The room is spacious and there are complimentary drinks and personal care items. Opposite the hotel are a 24-hr supermarket and a Seria store, the Okazaki Jingu is next to the hotel and the Heian Jingu is within 10-min walk.

Amazing hotel. The room was well equipped and extremely comfortable. Though not far from the center, I wish it had been a bit more walkable for the older people in my group. But that was the only downside of this hotel. The service provided at checkin is truly special. Great staff.

Best hotel in Japan- Kyoto

It was better than most 5 star hotels I have stayed at, it might even be in the top 2 hotels ever. The rooms are beautiful, the service exceptional, the comfort of beds is incomparable. We would have loved to stay longer but only had 2 nights. There is a very nice rain shower and the toiletries are amazing as well. They give very nice bath salts. We made the most our stay there.

Quiet and peaceful

The Hotel is located away for the city center and in a quieter area, but Uber/Taxi are relatively cheap to get around in Kyoto. The staff is very attentive, and the hotel property is very well maintained. Food is a bit pricy but great tasting and excellent presentation. Would stay again.

Fantastic Hotel!!!

I cannot say enough good things about the Hotel Okura Kyoto Okazaki Bettei. First, it was luxurious, new, clean, well staffed and convenient to all of Kyoto sightseeing. Second, the intimate luxury accomodations were neither too small or too large. We got to know all personnel by name. Management was very chill and accommodated our every request. Third, our room's amenities were top notch and no detail was overlooked. We particularly enjoyed the confortable bedding and oversized TV with Netflix access. Lastly, meals, including breakfast, were delicious and appealing to the eye. In conclusion, we are glad we chose this hotel over some of the bigger corporate names we might know in the US. The hotel was totally fantastic and we felt aw if we were at home. The general manager, Mr. Shinkawa is a gentelman and a star and will see to your every need.

This hotel had the best English speaking, friendly, respectful staff in Japan. Our rooms had beautiful view of the temple and really enjoyed our breakfast at the hotel as well. The hotel is fairly new and beautiful!
