眺めが良く熱いお風呂と美味しい朝食にとても満足でした。スタッフの方々の心配りもありがたく、気持ちの良い休暇を過ごせました。駅からは少し距離がありますが、静かで歩きやすく良い散歩ができました。また泊まりたいです。

リバービューが良い

宇治川の見えるお部屋でした。お部屋も清潔感があり、気持ちよく過ごせました。朝食も美味しかったです。周りにお店は少なくコンビニもありません。ルーフトップバーは中止でした。鵜飼の中止もネットで当日知りました。ホテルの中で楽しめる夜のアクティビティが欲しかったです。

寒かった

朝食会場が5度と寒く、ヒーターをお願いした。パンが冷たくトースターで温めてくれとお願いしたが、無いと言われ固くて冷たかったから食べるのをやめました。お部屋が少し匂いがあり、慣れるのに少しかかりました。フロントの方は皆さん親切でした。

宇治川沿いの景色が素晴らしく素敵な宿泊を家族と出来て満足しています。
大浴場も男女入れ替え制の為、夜と朝の両方とも満喫し、嬉しい。

スタッフの方々が、とても優しい。
今時のホテルでは無いが、良き風情と宇治らしい趣のある良いホテルである。
コロナで大変であろうが、頑張って欲しいと願います。
宇治は食事処が少ないので、ホテルレストランの充実があれば、なお良いと思いました。
素敵な1泊、ありがとうございました。

最高な時期に静かなホテルライフが楽しめた！

コロナウィルスにより自粛傾向にあるなか、桜の時期の寺社を巡る旅に宇治市の温泉付きのホテルを選んだ。川沿いの立地は満開な桜を眺められ、ホテルの接遇も良く今回の旅行は満足のいくものとなった。時期的に宿泊客も日本人だけで静かなホテルライフが楽しめました。

最高の立地とサービスを温泉とともに。

宇治の落ち着いた観光地の中心にあり、とても便利な立地でした。部屋から川の展望があり、朝は川のせせらぎを聞いて起床するとこできました。また朝食はサービス、そして内容も充実しており、大変美味しくいだくことができました。お風呂は、露天風呂も有り、のびのびと入ることができます。とても満足の行く滞在でした。

ローケイション抜群

宇治を観光するには抜群のローケイションです。部屋から塔の島は目の前で宇治川を眺めることができる。平等院の開門8：30に10分前に出れば十分。2泊3日で宇治、伏見、黄檗と効率よく観光できた。朝食は和食で2日とも美味しく頂けた。夕食なしのプランで利用した。

桜と宇治川を堪能できました

桜の季節に宿泊しました。部屋の窓から宇治川と満開の桜が見えて、旅行を満喫できました。世界遺産も徒歩圏内にあり、次回は家族でゆったりと宇治を楽しむために利用したいと思いました。
ただ、フロントのサービスや対応、振る舞いなどがスタッフによって大きく左右されていたので、少し残念でしたが、お部屋もロケーションも良かったです。

部屋から宇治川と桜並木が見えてとても癒されました。窓からの景色を見て楽しめて川の流れを眺めているとゆったりとした時間が過ごせました。お風呂も雰囲気が良く綺麗で気持ちよかったです。夕飯は付けていなかったので外に食べに出たら6：30頃でしたが近辺の飲食店はほぼ閉まっていたのが残念でした。浮舟園での朝食は丁度良い品数でお粥や魚や煮物や湯葉など、とても上品で全て美味しかったので最高の旅になりました。

半露天風呂付きの部屋でしたが とても快適に過ごすことができました 部屋のお風呂は1日中入ることができ朝風呂もポカポカでした

従業員の人数が少なかったのか、帰りの見送りもしてもらえませんでした。とても良い旅館でしたが、残念な点もありました。

大浴場が23時までで入れなかったのが残念でしたが、客室にシャワーがあり、大浴場は朝7時から入れたので良かったです。

朝食が食べられない

朝に朝食を頼もうとすると予約しないとダメで、もう無理とのこと…近所にお店はないのか聞いても駅前ならなんかあるかもくらいしか教えてくれず…なぜチェックイン時に一言教えてくれないのか…挙げ句の果てに、プライベートに関する質問を無遠慮にしてくるし…朝からお腹を空かせながらさまよい歩き、すごくストレスでした。ホテルは普通でしたが、この対応の悪さに気分台無しでした。

居心地いいよ！

平日に娘と宿泊しました。
和室だったので、ゴロゴロのんびり出来ました。
目の前に宇治川が流れていて風流のはずが、工事中でした。工事が終われば窓からの眺めも最高でしょう

川沿いの景色のいい旅館

滞在前の電話対応、到着時の対応等、あまり気持ちのいい印象は受けませんでした。
ホテルの外観は少し古く感じますが、部屋の中は綺麗に整っており、何より景色が最高でした。
半露天のお風呂に浸かりながら景色を眺めた朝風呂は、本当に素敵でした。

雰囲気のある旅館です。

半露天風呂付きのお部屋に家族3人で宿泊しました。全体的に古いですが、お部屋の広さは二家族くらい泊まれるくらいで、かけ流しの半露天風呂も良かったです。洗面所に洗面台が二つあり、お部屋にも化粧スペースがあるので女性にお勧めです。大浴場は3階と一階にあり男湯と女湯が代わります。平等院に近く宇治観光には立地の良い旅館ですが、お正月だったせいか食事する場所がなくて困りました。夜は9000円朝は2160円で旅館で食べる事が出来ます。スタッフは親切でした。お部屋からの景色も良かったです。

機会があれば又訪れたい

世界遺産平等院へ徒歩５分、宇治上神社へ１５分、宇治川の畔という抜群のロケーションで、宿全体の雰囲気も部屋の様子も食事も、過剰なところがなくほどほどに行き届いたスタッフのサービスも、言うことなし。
朝に部屋の窓から、百人一首にも詠まれた「宇治の川霧」を見ることが出来て、感動しました。
同行の仲間９名も全員が素晴らしい宿だったといっていました。

宇治の川沿いホテル

外観は古めですが、ＢＯＴＡＮのお部屋は綺麗に改装されていて素敵でした。
お部屋は設備も含めてとても良いのですが、従業員の方（ホテルの方針？）の対応が追いついていにない。

京都市内のビジネスホテルに泊まるのなら、このホテルの方が情緒があっていいかもしれません。
次回も宿泊したいと思います。

Hugely disappointing

Upon arrival we were very impressed with the hotel. Beautiful views, a more than comfortable 'Botan' room, and all the little extras. However, upon returning to our room after a lovely dinner out, we were ready to use the internet to watch a favourite drama of ours, and yet we were completely unable to connect. Both our laptops (Windows 7 and 8) required a username to access the internet in our rooms. We asked the staff at the front desk and he had no idea. A guest in the hotel said if your laptop is Windows 7 or newer, you cannot use the internet in your room because it requires a username that the hotel does not even have. We asked the staff to call someone but he merely tutted and walked around a bit before giving up and asking us to just use the internet in the lobby. Not quite what we had in mind. In the morning, we complained that we were unable to connect, and all we were told was 'We are very sorry. We are in a remote area and the weather sometimes affects the connection'... yet there was no problem with the internet in the lobby. After saying how very unhappy we were to not even be able to use internet in a room that we had paid over $300 for, nothing was offered to us. No compensation; nada. We asked for the manager's email to complain in writing and all we were given was the hotel website's email address. I don't often complain, but the staff were completely incompetent and just ruined the whole experience for us.

Very nice Royukan the sauna and hot bath were excellent and great for relaxing after a long and VERY cold day. Facility was a little beat up but probably because it’s been there for a while but it adds to its beauty. Could see the river from my room, had beautiful views of the mountain as well.

The only thing is the property is not very clean. But it is part of it being old and a little under maintaned. Otherwise a wonderful choice. I stayed 2 weeks ans went to Kyoto everyday without any issues. Fantastic! Will be back!

Beautiful location on the banks of the Uji River. The walks we took along the river with the lovely scenery and autumn leaves were truly memorable. Room was spacious, clean, comfortable and functional, and the balcony overlooking the river was wonderful. Really appreciate the hot bath after a cold day out. Location is near many places of attractions including the Byodoin Temple and shopping streets. Uji station is about 2km walk away. Would suggest posting heavy luggages to the hotel; we struggled with our luggage as we walked from Uji station to the hotel. Hotel staff were courteous and super helpful. They efficiently helped to post our luggages to our next hotel in Tokyo, arriving there the next day. Highly recommended.

This ryokan style property served as a sanctuary for a night. The futons were comfortable. We slept very well to the sound of the rushing river and chirping crickets. It is walking distance to shops and restaurants. We will come back again in the near future.

This is a wonderful ryokan. The building, location and room are great. we got the room with an partial open air bath and it was excellent. The staff was professional, kind and helpful. We felt very welcome even as foreigners.

I do wish that expedia would list the schedule for the dining options because the Ryokan restaurants are only open certain days and require reservation so we missed out on dinner.
It's a bit of a long walk from the train station but not terrible. It should also be noted on the expedia page that they will pick you up but you have to schedule 48hrs in advance.

A beautiful stay in a traditional Japanese ryokan. Room was spacious with floor table for tea. We had a spectacular view of the river and mountain. A quiet place away from the crowds. Spa was nice and relaxing with two hot tubs, one indoor and one outdoor. About a 16 minute walk to Uji Station. Hotel manager was nice enough to give us a free ride to the train station.

Stayed with wife and two kids in a deluxe Japanese style room with private bath. Hotel is situated on a beautiful property. Room was big and “fairly” clean.

Understanding room was Japanese style it is still really out dated. Some walls marked up, toilet was yellowed from age.

Amenities listed included shuttle from train. When we called to arrange shuttle we were told unavailable. Took over an hour waiting for taxi in the rain. Message to the property regarding this went ignored. When we arrived the restaurant was closed that day and no food or store nearby. When we woke up the restaurant was closed again so no food for the family.

TVs are small and outdated, property claimed we could connect to streaming to watch English shows but it did not work, when we called the office they put a gentleman on that did not help.

The view from the room and bath is very nice overlooking the river but that was really the only nice part of the stay. Bath was nice but they have re caulked it very messily which subtracted from any luxurious feel. Beds were comfortable in the room but not living room, blankets were duvets and quite nice.
Overall, property has a lot of potential but we left unsatisfied based on the price and service

We only stayed one night- we had amazing massages, and an incredible Japanese breakfast.
The room is as pictured, spacious and comfortable. The staff were lovely and helped us order a late Uber eats dinner. Stay two nights so you can explore the area (we didn’t have time).

It was quiet, peaceful, gorgeous, and such a beautiful place to stay. The staff were so accommodating, everything was clearly explained, and the onsens were perfect. We had such an incredible stay here and would come back any time.

The only downside is its distance from the train station, but this doesn't bother me. It's worth the walk.

Pensaba que sería muy bueno por los comentarios y me decepcionó mucho, muy cómodo los futones, pero estaba muy viejo, hacia mucho frio aunque pusieras la calefacción, no pude usar el "balcón" que estaba cerrado por que hacía un frío impresionante, el trato muy bueno y muy limpio, onsen aceptable, y muy buena ubicación. Igual tuve mala suerte en la habitación, pero no repetiria además por el precio que tiene se me quedó corto.

Dated and disappointed

The hotel is sorely out of date and needs a refresh. The rooms were not very clean, most notably the bathrooms and the terrace had not been cleaned for a long time and needed to be upgraded.

We were only told that the restaurant was not open once we arrived, so had little choice for dinner as much of the town shuts after early evening. Staff were not able to effectively communicate in English upon our arrival and couldn't help us with any alterations.

The photos promised much more than the reality, and we were disappointed with the stay as a whole.

We loved our stay at this beautiful ryokan. The surroundings are so gorgeous and peaceful being right next to the river. Our room was comfortable for our family of 4, and we greatly enjoyed the stunning and delicious kaiseki dinner. Email them directly to arrange the dinner as they also provided a kid version for our younger son. They were very accommodating and responsive to all our needs. I definitely hope we can return again!

Massive room overlooking the fast-flowing river. Can’t open the windows as it’s buggy. Expensive place, as it’s a spa. I really struggled with sleeping on futons. 10 minutes riverside walk to town past the shops for matcha stuff that cater to day-trippers. There’s a really good Starbucks very near, but ABC in town is best for coffee and cakes.

We had a lovely stay in Uji at this property. The service was fantastic! We loved the room, especially the personal onsen. We had an especially delicious meal at the steakhouse on the property, with an incredibly kind and attentive chef. Would definitely recommend eating there if you get the chance!

First experience in a Ryokan. No dinner provided. But there are food around the area to dine. However shops close very early. So have to dine early and rest in the Ryokan. There's private onsen in the room that we book. Make full use of it

20 minute walk from train station to the property. No eating locations nearby, need to walk 20 minutes back to find a place to eat. Most places nearby close early, around 6pm, so it was a challenge to find places for dinner. The property advertises a steak restaurant but it requires a reservation. We tried making a reservation more than once but each time was told that there were no openings. Then when we walked by the restaurant later it was completely empty, lights on, but no one in there. It seems the restaurant isn’t even open anymore. Be warned that the property’s website is very misleading. Our expectations for the property were much higher after viewing the website but we were disappointed to find that the photos and some amenities listed on the website are not accurate. For example the website mentions that a shuttle is available to pick guest up from the station. In reality, there was no shuttle. We had to walk or find a taxi.

自2014年第一次來到宇治，因為這間飯店而愛上宇治，宇治駅到飯店交通，一開始從坐計程車往返而後改成走路，盡情享受四季不同美麗的街景和宇治川。
這些年來，到京都一定選擇這間飯店。

Nice location and kind staff but seemed inexperienced and didn't speak too much English. Not many places to eat nearby unless you're eating at the ryokan or at their steakhouse across the street (which you need to make a reservation for).

Wonderful experience. Beautiful Japanese style rooms with tatami, really spacious. Small balcony overlooks the beautiful scenery of the Uji river. Great amenities and complimentary snacks and tea. Staff was extremely helpful, and their service was fantastic. We arrived early and they kept our luggage for us. When we came back later they had already transferred our luggage to our room. They also arranged a member of staff to show us our room.
There are 2 hot baths available for all guests. Hot baths are available until 11:30 pm and 6-10am the next morning--a great way to relax after a long day of travelling!
We chose the traditional Japanese style breakfast package. This included many small courses such as grilled fish, tofu hot pot, miso soup and pickled vegetables. Guests can help themselves to rice, tea porridge and orange juice.
Overall, a wonderful experience! The only downside is that the hotel is a solid 15-20 minutes walk from the rail station (although still a walkable distance).

This hotel needs some major upgrades, and more helpful staff. Other than the shuttle driver, and breakfast ladies the rest of the staff needs some training in customer service. If your going to charge customers upwards of $500 per night, please at least bring their luggage to their room.

Pros:
Hotel picks you up at the train station if you arrive before 5:30 p.m.
Breakfast and breakfast staff
Nice view to the river
Onsen on site (not natural hot springs)

Cons:
Staff comes off as fake friendly
Hallways reek of cigarette smoke
Outdated facilities
Thin walls
tiny elevator
Kaiseki dinner portions are too small, and very soup heavy

Our room faced the river - which we could hear even through the closed window! Beautiful views, very peaceful area. Excellent traditional Japanese breakfast. On site public bath was very clean, quiet - and very hot! Don't stay in too long ;) Excellent customer service and such an interesting, beautiful area. Looking forward to coming again someday!
