こじんまりとしていて、落ち着いていました。
朝食付きで美味しいスープ、スムージー、パンなど満足です。貸切予約の檜風呂も木の香りがとてもよく、ゆったりとした時間を過ごせました！

毎年『飛騨高山ウルトラマラソン』出場の際利用させていただいてます。いつも丁寧に対応していただき感謝しております。また来年も利用させていただきます。

Very friendly and welcoming boutique hotel. Beds were excellent. Breakfast was very nice - it was prepared freshly and delivered to your table. Very homely sitting area. Very soacious room but a bit tired.

The service from the front desk is so nice, and we are very happy to stay at this wonderful hotel! Especially, we stayed at the family villa which we had a great view of the river. We absolutely enjoyed it and hope to visit again.

Staff were amazing, super cute boutique hotel. Takayama is very walkable so you’ll be good anywhere but the quality of this hotel really stood out.

I recently booked this hotel last week. Staff were helpful but that is where the positives end. Upon arriving to my room I was not comfortable with the conditions as the mattress and sheets.

Et skønt og stilrent hotel. Indretningen er både smagfuld og hyggelig, og hotellet har en varm og afslappet atmosfære, som man ikke finder på de store kædehoteller.

Værelset var super fint indrettet med virkelig gode senge, rent og pænt. Der var også dejlig kaffe på værelset.

I lobbyen er der fri adgang til kaffe og te, og det er et hyggeligt sted at slappe af – her ligger også forskellige rejsebøger, som man kan lade sig inspirere af.
Virkelig lækker morgenmad. Man vælger mellem flere slags som serveres. Jeg fik lækker yoghurt med granola, smoothie og panini med grøntsager.
Alt i alt et lækkert boutiquehotel, som jeg varmt kan anbefale, hvis du vil bo komfortabelt og med stil i Takayama.

Wonderful hotel in the style of a traditional Japanese inn with all the modern conveniences. Very centrally located, and the staff is incredible, especially Yuka. We loved Takayama, and would not hesitate to stay here in the future

Best hotel I’ve been in my trip. Beautiful rooms. Only one downside but really small, is that the laundry room closes at 9 and I was not told of it therefore I could not do my laundry but is just a small thing that it doesn’t matter. The hotel was absolutely exceptional, loved it I will go back in a heart beat,

The staff were very nice but the room was just ok. We expected a bit more „boutique style“ and higher quality furniture for the price and missed the regular breakfast more than we thought we would. The carpet should be replaced in some parts of the hotel.

We had a wonderful stay at The Machiya Takayama hotel. Location is convenient to go to the main attractions and restaurants. Thank you for the room upgrade. Loved the room, the decor and little garden. The staff are friendly and helpful in recommending dining options. Will be back for sure!

Absolute perfection for our family of 4, e en better than the pics! There is a grocery store around the corner and an adorable kitchen with everything you need to make a light meal. The huge bathtub will soothe your.soul. The master bed is quite comfy. Great temperature control. Immaculate! One of the best places I've ever stayed.

I’d stay again.

It was a modern style but had some traditional feeling while we were there. The jazz music in the community room was very soothing. The staff were very helpful and work very hard for the customer. We appreciate the work they put into the service.

The villa was amazing. The onsen bath was devine. My only criticisms is there is no couch. So when you come back after a big day out there is no where to relax besides the kitchen table. Other than that, this place is the best. Amazing location, plenty of space and comfortable beds.

The Machiya Hotel was one of our favorite places to stay during our trip. We appreciated the kindness of the staff and the homey feel of the common areas. The rooms here modern, well designed and had everything we needed. It was so nice to be able to quietly sip tea and the provided sweets after a long day of exploring. Thank you for a lovely visit to Takayama!

Takayama is a city that is recently overrun with tourists and, understandably, the locals have mixed feelings about it. The staff at Machiya Hotel were uniformly genuine, friendly and helpful. The property itself is lovely too, and they've done a good job converting it into a hotel.

I would definitely recommend this hotel - the service is impeccable, the rooms are 5 star standard, and breakfast (additional charge) was well worthwhile in relaxing lobby. We booked the Hinoki Private Bath which was exceptional. This hotel is within walking distance to main attractions and local restaurants. Staff are exceptional, friendly, and English speaking. Book early as is smaller hotel. We will be return guests!

Nice staff but room just too small and badly laid out to be comfortable for 2 people. No natural light. Not a nice vibe. Left a day early as it was depressing. Of course no refund as it was booked on Expedia.

Great stay!

Staff were very accommodating and kind. There was a major train delay that got us in very late and the staff was understanding. Everything was clean and the rooms were very spacious. The hotel was located conveniently from the train station to the different sightseeing areas - all in comfortably walkable distance. We would definitely stay here again - highly recommend.

The best hotel I’ve ever stayed at in Japan. It’s conveniently located between the train station and the old town. Staff was super accommodating, welcoming and helpful. Great meal area, breakfast is great (western style), laundry, Onsen, spacious room. Very high quality, wish we could have stayed longer!
