The reception was very unapologetic and rude about a hiccup in my reservations and basically told me in the rudest way possible that I should book some where else. Long story, I cancelled 1 out of 3 rooms due to a unforseen circumstance. When I checked in, the receptionist told me that my party of 5 would not be accommodated due to booking 2 rooms with 2 beds. We were forced to book an additional room for one night and then were told that the extra person had to check out the next day. We understand that the hotel has their policies but how the situation was handled was less than ideal and with very little compassion.

Objectively speaking, rooms were very small and the bathroom shower stalls need to be fixed. My family noticed that the shower doors were broken yet still functional and one of the showers had a bad leak.

The only compliment they had was that room service was very quick and friendly.

Would not be staying here again.

Brilliant,brilliant stay. Great location, small but perfectly appointed rooms, excellent bar and lounging area and cheap honest food if you wish to dine in. Can’t recommend highly enough.

A comfy stay - would come back!

My partner and I really enjoyed our stay in Moxy Kyoto. It's a modern hotel, more in western than Japanese style. The staff was friendly, the drinks at the bar were delicious, and there are many amenities for guests. Pyjamas, ironing, bathroom essentials, daily water...The room itself is beautiful and offers a lot of storage. The bathroom is big with a comfy rain shower and also, lots of storage. I would've loved a water fountain to refill resuable water bottles and a bigger recycling trash can, other than that, a perfect stay. Thank you!

For a hotel chain apart of the Marriott bonvey family this is a real nice hotel. Modern, clean looking, the service and the staff were amazing including delivering my hotel luggage to the next hotel i was staying at and the station nearby was great only a 5 minute walk and the free hotel umbrellas provided were incredible because we came in during the rainy season

Kult hotell med glimrende service. God størrelse på rommet og ok+ renhold. God mat i restauranten, men frokosten var kaos. Der var det dårlig plass og ofte tomt for ting i buffeten. Vi valgte dette hotellet mye på grunn av hotellgymmet, og det var over all forvnentning.

Rigtig godt hotel

Dejligt nyt hotel, tæt på station.
Man føler sig godt tilpas allerede ved ankomst og værelserne er fine, specielt er sengen rigtig god.
Prisen var meget fornuftig her i slutningen af januar. Vil klart anbefale dette hotel.

Hotel cómodo, limpio, hay una estación de metro cruzando la calle, buenas opciones de desayuno y tiene restaurante. Pero no hay muchas opciones para comer o cenar cerca de ahí .

Great location

The hotel was in a great location and the staff was very helpful and friendly and the rooms were clean and quite comfortable for it being small. There was lots of storage and places to put things so it made it feel bigger in the room. The only issue I had was that the room was not cleaned when we left for the day. We had to call and ask them everyday when we came back in the afternoons. They would mostly clean up the bathrooms quickly and bring us new towels and make the bed which only took 5-10 minutes.

We had a great stay at the Moxy! Close proximity to public transit and several restaurants/shops. Hotel was very chic and clean. Bar was open 24hrs which was so nice, bar tenders were super fun and had lots of local recommendations. Highly recommend, would stay again!

Nice standard hotel for a short stay. Clean rooms with good amenities, though rooms are small. Also nice bar area with good food and drinks.

No receipt at reception and did not get the email invoice.

Also paid for breakfast but had to leave early but was not allowed to enjoy it very briefly. Lack of flexibility.

Great stay!

Newer hotel near Nijo station and castle. Clean, newer property with large rooms for Japan. Great stay!
