スタッフの皆さんの応対はとても素晴らしかった。当たり前ではあるが、廊下での挨拶も皆さんきちんとされていてとても気持ちがよかった。ウェルカムドリンクにお抹茶とお菓子をいただけたのも良かった。お料理がとても美味しかった。おすすめ出来る。
お部屋も清潔。鴨居のホコリ？蜘蛛の巣が1つ気になったぐらいしか、難点がない。
お風呂も良い。階段が年配者にはキツイが展望台から河口湖と富士山を一望でき、夕焼けも見られた。

入り口が道路に面しているため、スタッフの方の誘導があったり安全に配慮されているなと感じました。
チェックイン時にお抹茶をたてていただいたり、露天風呂や屋上からの富士山は絶景でした。

新年の初日の出、夜間フロントの方が女性露天風呂からよく見えると言われたらようですが、屋上に行かないと全く見えませんでした。

Great location, a little pricy

トライアスロンに参加するため滞在しました。チェックアウト後のお風呂使用など配慮して頂けたのがとても良かったです。朝食の時間がもう少し融通が利いたらなと思いました。夕食も良かったのですが、到着後の飲み物のサービスや夕食で、食物アレルギー以外の配慮があったらもっと良かったなと思いました。

到着時、出発時のフロントの方の対応がこの上なく丁寧で、とても良かった。
スタッフの方の対応は非常に良かったが、富士山の麓にあるが、ほぼ富士山が施設の中から見えないのが残念。
滞在中、富士山が見えたのは男女入れ替え後の朝の露天風呂だけだった。
また大浴場のシャワーは３箇所以上、出ないところがあった。
設備に不満はあるものの、お部屋もお食事も大満足で、のんびりできた。

富士山の眺めが最高でした

・富士山の眺め：　屋上からの眺めが最高でした。他の場所にいってもなかなかここまで大きくは見られません。
・お部屋：　広々してゆったりできます。富士山は見えませんが、山中湖の眺めを堪能できます。ただ、エアコンの音が大きい、夏で掛布団がちょっと暑いなどありました。
・食事　：　和食です。おいしかった。ほぼ和食のみなので、そういうものとしてお楽しみください。
・お風呂：　屋上露天風呂がちょっと衝撃です。山中湖につながっているように見えます。前に進むと、自分がゴジラになって山中湖に入ろうとしているみたいです。
・周辺観光：　山中湖の通常の観光は勿論、他にも近くにハイキングコースがあり、散策を楽しめます。浅間神社が近く、見ごたえもありました。
・アクセス：　駅までバスの送迎があるので便利でした。帰りのバスでは、お願いしたらロープウェイ乗り場の前で下ろしてもらえました。

おもてなし満載で特別感を味わえます

車宿に行きましたが外でスタッフの方々が待っていてスムーズに駐車できました。そこからウェルカムドリンク&スイーツから始まり、部屋までご担当の方がついて案内、部屋食もその方がサーブしてくれたり、特別感をすごい感じました。部屋食の夕食はもちろん、朝食も種類が多くとても美味しかった。部屋に駄菓子が置いてあったり、タオルや浴衣も夕食後に替えを持ってきていただいたり全てにおいてサービスやおもてなし感が満載でした。全てのスタッフの方々の教育が凄いんだと感じました。残念ながら富士山は見えませんでしたが、屋上にある展望台や5階にある露天風呂からは富士山が見えるようです。なお、1階にある大浴場も広い方はとても大きく薬草風呂やサウナなども充実しています。また、水がとても美味しく何度も頂きました。富士山の水のようです。全てには大満足ですが、一点だけ挙げるとすれば、部屋にはインスタントのコーヒーがありましたがこれの代わりに朝食時にコーヒーの提供があると更に良いと思いました。

丁寧な心遣いの宿

家族で1泊しました。スタッフ皆様の大変丁寧な心遣いを感じとても落ち着いて過ごせました。夕食朝食共に素晴らしかったです。河口湖が目の前で部屋からの景色もよく、屋上展望台からの富士山の眺めも楽しめました。次は連泊したいですね。

富士山と河口湖の絶景が見えるホテル

静かな環境で日常の喧騒を離れるにはとても良い環境です。夕食は個室で、とても美味しく、スタッフの応対も丁寧です。２つの露天風呂はそれぞれユニークな特徴があり、小さいけれども富士山が真っ正面に見える風呂、河口湖全体を見回せる風呂と時間交代でゆったりと入浴できました。また露天とは別に大浴場があります。屋上展望台からは雄大な富士山が見えます。

The tatami room was generLly clean and welcoming. The open air hot tub was great with view of the Kawaguchi Lake. Hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. Our server who brought our kaiseki dinner was terrific!

Such a great experience! We’ll be back. Warm welcome and excellent services! Room is clean with great view! Food is good. You can wear traditional Japanese clothes provided in the hotel which is a plus. There is a Mt Fuji observation deck on top of the building. We took really nice pictures there wearing traditional clothes. Public hot springs are clean with lake or Mt Fuji. There is a private one available for rent.

This is a must place to visit. The staff is amazingly friendly and helpful. The staff prepared bento breakfast for us to eat on our way to the next destination. They called Taxi for is too. We had a very pleasant and wonderful stay at Ryokan. The excellent service, especially the kaiseki-style breakfast and dinner, provided us with an unforgettable experience full of Japanese culture. The Japanese-style hot spring bath is nice to have. Also the surrounding areas are beautiful with the view of Mt Fuji.

We do have two small suggestions: First, the strong tatami smell in the room might be improved with some light incense. Second, the large key for the room door was a bit inconvenient to use.

服務親切有禮，食物非常美味，室內溫泉浴缸泡起來完全不會悶，通風良好卻不會冷，好神奇！但淋浴間的排水管處有一團毛髮沒有清乾淨，起霧後，玻璃上還看得到前人畫的笑臉跟愛心。一點小瑕疵但不影響我的住宿體驗，下次還會再來。

From the moment I was picked up by their private shuttle, I felt very taken care of! I’m a solo traveler & this location & ryokan experience was exactly what I was looking for! The Japanese style room was clean, comfortable & quiet, & I was overwhelmed by the beauty of the lake view! The traditional ryokan breakfast & dinner were delicious & plentiful! They do remind you several times before arrival that this is a set menu, & there are no substitutions, so if you have any food allergies or certain dietary requirements, this may not be the proper place for you. Also, if you have a tattoo, you will need to book a private onsen time. I appreciated that the staff are wonderfully courteous & welcoming, & I do appreciate their policy of keeping track of every guest when one leaves the premises for an outing by turning in room key, then picking it back up when returning. The location is wonderful if you would like to be away from much of the tourist traffic. My dream of a clear day & view Mt.Fuji from atop their premises was magical! Thank you Wakakusa no Yado Maruei Ryokan!

Full cultural immersion in the Japanese culture, this hotel offered great service, food and onsen. Staff were polite and helpful, the lake and Fuji view were amazing! On the other hand, access was not easy given it was done through the green line Omni bus, that offers a worse service than the red one

Unforgettable Ryokan Culinary Experience

Staying at Wakakusa no Yado Maruei was a memorable way to experience a traditional ryokan. The absolute highlight was the food—both dinners and breakfasts were outstanding, with each meal beautifully presented, creative, and completely different across our three days. Every bite felt like a special occasion, and the attentive, gracious service made the dining experience truly exceptional.

The overall service throughout our stay was excellent as well—warm, thoughtful, and seamless in a way that made us feel truly cared for.

The room itself was interesting and authentic, but less about comfort and more about tradition. As a side sleeper, I found the futons a bit too firm, and during the day, with the beds put away, there wasn’t really a cozy spot to relax. That said, the setting and atmosphere make up for it if you’re looking for a cultural experience rather than a plush stay.

The complimentary shuttle to and from the train station was also a helpful touch. Overall, this ryokan is perfect for those wanting to immerse themselves in Japanese tradition and enjoy some of the best meals you’ll ever have.

The hotel is situated in the shadow of Mt. Fuji and on the shores of a lake on the other side.The baths were amazing with views of both. The traditional royokan rooms were an immersion in the traditional Japanese experience. However the absolute highlights were the authentic Japanese meals served by the most friendly and helpful staff. This stay could be the highlight of your trip.

10/10 Ryokan!

First time visiting a Ryokan and I will definitely return! Everybody was friendly, the service from all the staff was above and beyond and the rooms were all super clean, even if it wasn't a modern hotel. All the onsens were well maintained and they switch up the male/ female onsens daily so everyone gets to try them. My favourite was the 5th floor outdoor onsen, while we also booked a room with a view of Mt Fuji and a personal onsen which was super handy as we only saw Mt Fuji at sunrise during our trip so we did not have to leave our rooms at dawn. Overall 10/10!

Este ryokan es fantástico. La habitación con la bañera onsen en la terraza con vistas al lago nos encantó. La cena estilo kaiseki servida en la habitación fue una experiencia inolvidable. La preparación de los futones en vivo también fue impresionante. En nuestro caso fuimos con coche de alquiler, lo que es más cómodo para llegar a este ryokan algo más apartado de la ciudad. Recomiendo reservar el Onsen privado a la hora del atardecer para disfrutar de las vistas al monte Fuji.
La única pega es que hay que estar como tarde en el ryokan a las 17:00, lo que limita un poco la posibilidad de visitar los alrededores. Por otro lado, da la opción de usar la tarde para usar los onsen públicos.

Wonderful ryokan with the most friendly staff. The traditional rooms were very comfortable and well thought out. The private onsen was very nice. The meals were unbelievable, especially the dinners - we were treated like royalty. Breakfasts were a bit harder for western stomachs and habits - this would be our only recommendation as they have 3 types of breakfast - allow the option to only take the western option. Location is excellent on the lake and with a stop for the tourist bus just in front and a free shuttle to the station. And amazing views of Mt Fuji on the rooftop. :

Kaiseki meals were great! It is a must try if you stay here. I would suggest to contact the property to request an upgrade (with not too expensive extra pay) before your stay. It is well worthy it.

Hot spring experience is also good but for outsider with bigger body build, the XL size yukata is kind of small. They should prepare a few 2XL or 3XL for foreign visitors

Beautiful ryokan, 4 lovely public(residents) baths, split between men & women, one bookable bath.

The food is chosen by the chef and every day is different, a great way to try what kind of food the japanese like to eat on holiday.

Expérience unique

Expérience hors du temps dans ce ryokan traditionnel.
L'hôtel dispose d'une situation idéale au bord du lac et possède une vue magnifique sur le Mont Fuji.
Au niveau des prestations, l'hotel dispose de bain traditionnel, fournis des Yukata et vous sert un repas traditionnel magnifique.
Expérience exceptionnelle malgré un coût un peu élevé.

We stayed 3 nights. What i didn't like was that the hotel only provide Kawaguchiko Station pick-up between 2pm & 5pm. Beside, the mattress was thin & you're sleeping on the hard flooring ...not used to it as it causes backache when you wake up in the morning. Moreover, there's no AC during our stay and they provided a fan for the room air circulation. On the good rating, the staff are conscientious & diligent. The half board breakfast & dinner menu are different on each day.
