Nice traditional inn

Good location. Comfortable traditional Japanese beds. Little table in room and small clothes hanging area along with own sink. Shared bathroom was OK, no issues with queuing for the shower or toilet. There was a separate toilet for male/female. No outdoor shoes throughout the property, but slippers are provided. Shared lounge is spacious and had tea and coffee available throughout the day.

Kitchen small but with a range of things to use if you wished to cook in. Big fridge for sharing, just write room number on your items. Knives were stick to magnetic strip on one of cupboard door (I missed that initially so used a normal knife to bluntly cut my apple).

Easy walk to the main attractions and station. Lots of food options. The owner will provide you with a map with some reccomended food options. The restaurant next door is excellent, we wanted to go again, but it was closed on Sunday.

令人驚豔的日式房間體驗

住宿經驗非常美好，單人日式的榻榻米房間，鋪上風味十足的被褥（而且非常舒服，贏過連鎖飯店的彈簧床），令人想賴在房間裡。
即使是共用衛浴，也非常乾淨整潔，空間也非常足夠。
但如是持大件行李的旅客，要留意飯店是日式建築無電梯，但check in時老闆有協助搬行李至房間。
總而言之對於這次住宿經驗非常滿意！

A delightful little inn!

This is a delightful little inn. The staff are welcoming, efficient and gave us great recommendations on where to eat and what to see. Our Japanese style room was comfortable, even large by Japanese standards. There is also a beautiful lounge for guests to use. Breakfast was great and is very reasonably priced. We would certainly stay here again if we were back in Takayama.

over rated and disappointed

my room 301 is next to man and lady toilet, people does not know to flush toilet . smell bad , and night time people use toilet make a lot of noise, I ask hotel staff to change ,but they did not respond. hotel is overrated and overpriced .

Great location

This was a very clean, but basic, accommodation. The location was excellent, and the mats in the Japanese room were much more comfortable than others we have stayed on elsewhere.

Excellent accueil, réceptionniste à l'écoute et très serviable (réservation par téléphone au restaurant); salle commune à l'ambiance jazzy; hôtel bien placé et calme, très bon rapport qualité/prix.

Like the inn and room we stay. Clean, tidy and the room is big. The property is near the old street and nearby have a lot of restaurants to choose and the food are tasty. The Inn allow us to keep our baggage overnight. This is much more appropriated because it make us easy to transit to Shinhotaka ropeway then overnight at Hirayu. We will stay here again if there is a chance to visit Takayama.

A bit of Japanese style.

Very comfortable beds Japanese style, tatami floors were a nice touch. Helpful and friendly staff make staying here an enjoyable experience. Close to everything.

다카야마 릭샤인-하루 머물 정도

료칸 같은 느낌을 기대했다면 아닐수 있어요. 조립식 가건물 같은 분위기라 꽤 춥고 난로로 난방해서 무척 건조해요. 주인장은 매우 친절하세요. 위치는 중요지역을 걸어다니기 좋은 위치이지만 역에서는 거리가 좀 있어요. 분위기나 시설에 비해선 비싼 편이에요. 3층건물인데 엘리베이터 없어요. 짐이 무겁다면 맨발로 짐들고 삼층 올라가실 각오하셔야 해요

Parfait pour un court séjour à Takayama

Hôtel très bien situé dans le centre de Takayama et proche de la gare à pied. En revanche attention si vous rentrez après minuit, l'accès se fait par l'arrière de l'hôtel à l'aide d'un code!

Best time in Takayama

The hostel is great !!!
Very comfortable mattress.
I booked for Japanese style with bathroom. The mattress is thicker than normal Japanese ones which is the best. This is individually, I can sleep better after the long day out and walk around a lot. Free tea and coffee located on 2nd floor, share kitchen and common area.
I was walking in the back street across from the hostel and found the local restaurant that full of Japanese ppl.
I went there for 2 nights durymy stay in Takayama. The food is fantastic, nice environment. Sit at the bar, chat with the local then drink sake with them. It was one of the best time I had in Japan.
The worst part is hang over next day.
Fully recommended this hostel!!!!

Tipico, bello, non male

Locanda tipica giapponese con interni belli e puliti, il bagno in comune un po' claustrofobico ma adeguato alle dimensioni giapponesi. La città e la zona comunque ripagano: c'è un ottimo ristorante di sushi accanto.

老闆會講英文，也願意提供各種旅遊資訊，旅館就在觀光區邊緣，走路到車站不到十分鐘。我們住日式套房但有沙發還有床墊，很舒適。

A gem

Don't be put off by the small entrance, you will find a gem here. The host was extremely friendly, even let us borrow a book to bring back home (I promised to send it back after finished reading it)! Great location, close to the center of town and JR station.

Room 304 was spacious and comfy for 2. The lounge / breakfast / kitchen area provided a convenient place to eat in and a meeting place for guests to socialize and relax together. I'd definitely stay here again on my next trip to the area.

Excellent location. Small and homely and the owner is an expat and still is able to speak reasonable English, {just joking, he speaks excellent English.} Rooms are a reasonable size with good facilities. We had a room with a private bathroom and it was excellent.
On 3 levels and only stairs no elevators, but that's fine. Nice lounge to sit and read or have a coffee.

Great location

Lovely old building with lots of character. But beware no lift so will need to carry suitcases upstairs- maximum third floor. All kitchen facilities on middle floor nothing in room.

Great semi traditional on western mattress on the floor but in a wonderful inn. Close to old town, station and restaurants. Highly recommended.

高山是個悠閒的小鎮,從高山站到瑞克蕭旅館約步行10分鐘,
途中會經過國分寺,約2分鐘的距離,
要到古小野町,宮川早市都很方便.
旅館內很有家的感覺,
小烤箱,微波爐,鍋碗飄盤都很齊全,
有多日住宿的人可自備個洗衣袋,
有附設的投幣式洗衣機可使用,
因有許多外國旅客,所以工作人員的英文都很流利,
另有一名來自英國的前台工作人員,日文也說的很好.
大家都很和善.

Good location

Convenient location where you can find many restaurants nearby, and you can also park your car in front of the hostel at ¥700 per night only.
We stayed at a Japanese-style room with its own washroom. The room was neat and clean, and large enough. Overall an enjoyable stay.
After two days we checked out, we found that we had left some personal belongings in the hostel. Sent and email to the hostel through the Expedia platform and the owner responded quickly and positively even though we checked-out already. And he is so kind to help us keep the things for a couple of months until my friend come to Hida to pick up. Thumbs up!

Not the best Japanese style living experience!!

While we knew we had not booked a fancy hotel, as they were quite expensive in Takayama, we were quite taken aback when we realised how tiny the room was! The pictures were definitely deceiving in this case.also, the description mentioned shared bath but even toilets were shared, we were not expecting that. Lounge and lobby area was good and had that old Japanese feeling to it but rooms itself were below expectation
the staff at reception while checking in was good but later never there and ater calling them couldn't help much. Our wifi never worked, not in the room nor in the lounge. And the staff dint even try to fix that

Small delightful Inn

Stayed one night here in a comfortable atmospheric Japanese style room. Only breakfast is available but there are simple facilities if you want to prepare food yourself. Close to the old town and very helpful staff who can point you in the direction of good restaurants. Highly recommend.

Good to stay at

It's very neat & clean in all area since you have to take off your shoes before stepping up. Also you welcome to keep the luggage after checking out. However you have to consider there's no lift and if you have big & heavy luggage.

Excellent

Location is perfect,just 5 minutes away from the station and in the centre of village. Staff was very kind and helpful.The establishment was nice,cleaned and simple,but with all necessary to enjoy a quiet and pleasant stay.
