場所は便利な場所にあり、建物は古いですが、特に外国からの旅行者の為の施設が揃っています。しかし、日本人からすると、バスタブがないのは寂しかったです。

昭和的なレトロある室内だけれども、清潔感あり、根津駅にも近く、上野公園にもそんなに歩く事なく観光には便利でした。旅館の側にコンビニはありませんでしたが、酒屋があり朝７時から11時までオープンしていて、コンビニとほほ変わらない品揃えです。根津駅周辺にはコンビニは多かったです。
スタッフの方々もとても良く満足でした。

1泊寝る（シャワー、トイレあり）なのでもんだいなし。ホテルの回りにはコンビニ、食事処が無いので飲み物、朝ごはんを買って行きました。ホテルの方も親切で良かったです。

個室のドアを開けると玄関があるのが嬉しい。　畳の間、少し深めの風呂、気持ち良い敷布団、掛け布団。　心配りが感じられる、旅館の方達の応対。　今回の日本の旅の最後の数泊、家族共々、旅館の良さをを知るよい経験になりました。　根津、上野周辺の散歩も手軽で、新しいものと伝統的なものの調和を楽しむ事が出来ました。

We had a very nice stay at Ryokan Katsutaro. The staff is very friendly and helpful and there is a good atmosphere. The location is in a quiet street close to Metro and Ueno station.

I had a wonderful stay. The location is wonderful for museum-goers and is located right next to beautiful Ueno Park, which has many events and museums within its bounds as well as a lovely lake of lotus flowers. The room was comfortable and very clean, it also had air conditioning in the room, which was great to be able to use on some warm August nights. I was also able to walk to Akihabara for nightlife. My host and hostess were also very kind and attentive throughout my stay. Many deliscous restaurants are also very close by.

숙박비가 저렴하며 조용하게 잘 쉬다왔습니다. 저는 침실 외엔 모두 공동사용인 호실을 이용했는데 별다른 불편함은 없었습니다. 다만, 계단이 가파르고 좁아서 여성분들은 캐리어들고 이동하기 힘들수 있으니 관리인분에게 도움을 요청하시는게 좋을듯합니다. 약간 외진 곳이지만 우에노역 도보 10분, 네즈역 도보 5분, 닛포리역 도보 15분으로 역까지 접근성은 좋은 편입니다. 나리타공항에서 우에노역까지 스카이라이너를 이용하면 빠르고 편하게 이동할수 있습니다. 시설이 좋은 편은 아니지만 숙박비를 고려한다면 이곳만한 곳도 없을듯합니다.

Great place! The owners helped us out immediately and always greeted us as we entered. There's a computer in the lounge that's great for printing out flight tickets, and the rooms are super comfy and are cleaned daily for us. The location is nice- it's an 15-18 minute walk to Ueno Station, which is ok, and the path takes you right through the beautiful Ueno Park.

대체로 만족스러운 일본 다다미식 료칸

우에노 지하철 역에서 걸어서 가기엔 좀 멀지만, 가는 길 주변이 참 호젓해서 좋았습니다. 단정한 주택가와 우에노 동물원을 거쳐 익숙한 옛 동네를 거니는 듯한 정취가 매우 좋았습니다. 친절한 주인장과 깨끗하고 단정한 다다미 방은 도쿄 첫날 밤을 매우 인상적으로 만들어 주었습니다. 전통 일본 주택에서 1박을 기대하신다면 주변 정취와 함께 좋은 경험이 될 수 있겠습니다.

不錯的酒店

入住時員工提供了各種便利的旅遊資訊，亦有各種旅遊小冊子提供，房間很不錯，有提供wifi、雪櫃(共用)、洗衣乾衣(300yen)等服務，除了共用浴廁以外，用這個價格真的沒什麼可挑剔。

Ryokan close to Tokyo Ueno

The Ryokan is close to the bustling Tokyo Ueno, like a 15 minute walk, but is located in a quiet neighborhood. One of the best nights we had real good sleep. The stairway to guest rooms is steep and narrow, hence will be a challenge with bulky luggage. Also the price was a little high, unsure if it was because of peak holiday season.

Lovely location right behind the park. I’d go back any time. Futons are relatively thick and much better than in other ryokans I experienced. Can be a bit noisy if you are unlucky and there is a group of tourists staying there at the same time.

Nice and kind staff. Traditional Japanese rooms

The staff are nice and helpful! There was no problems in communicating in simple English.

There was no toilet for the room that I picked, so I had to use the shared toilet and shower-room. Both facilitates are clean, but I sometimes needed to queue in pick hours. The rooms are not well sound-proofed, so I could hear noises probably when the occupants next door were talking/ watching TV.

It took around 20 min to get to Ueno station 上野, and the staff introduced us to take a bus instead of walking out to the station. The hotel is actually located quite near to Nezu station 根津, and it took around 10 min to walk there. Of cuz, Nezu is not as convenient as Ueno, but we purchased metro pass, so it was quite OK for us.

The convenient store located right opposite to the hotel closed at 10pm.

우에노 역에서 걸어서 10-15분정도 걸립니다. 개인욕실이 있는 방이 있고, 공용욕실이 있는 방이 있는데.. 전반적으로 객실이 몇개 안되어서 공용욕실 및 화장실도 그렇게 불편하지 않았습니다. 담배냄새 안나고 청결하고 넓어서 가족여행으로는 매우 만족스러웠습니다.

우에노 공원에서 걸어가기에는 좀 멀다라는 감이
있지만 위치는 제법 좋았아요. 대신
한 가지 주인아저씨께서 알려주셨던 정보를 드리자면
호텔에서 가까운곳에 18번 버스 정류장이 있습니다.
그 버스타면 우에노까지 편하게 갈수있어요.
체크인할때도 주인 아저씨께서 친절하게 대해주셔서 좋았고, 방도 넓어서 같이 간 사촌동생들과 편안하고 안락하게
수면을 취했어요. 일본의 일반 가정집이라 생각하고
생각하시면 편하실듯 합니다.

Great traditional style inn!

The area was a little difficult to get to with heavy luggage and the reception area was surprisingly small. However, the hosts were very friendly and the lodging was much more ample than what we had anticipated. We got a room that was one of the larger ones that could possibly fit 5 to 6 full/queen sized futons, so we were very comfortable. Bathroom was a nice size as well compared to other places in this price range or lower. Was a great stay for the first night of our honeymoon!

Great little ryokan with a fabulous location

This ryokan is in a perfect location in a residential area adjacent to Ueno Park. It's around a 10-mintute walk from Ueno Station, from where it is easy to get almost anywhere. The owner of the ryokan is really lovely and helpful. I really wanted to go to the tuna auction at Tsukiji, and based on what I had read, thought I could get there by 4:00 am to get a place; he said that I should leave by 3:00; thankfully I did - by 4:00 it was truly full!

My room was of good size and very comfortable. It was a little cold, but there was a gas heater which warmed the room nicely. The down comforter on the traditional bed was really nice. And everything was very very clean.

My only complaint is that the rooms are quite noisy - the walls are thin, so you can hear everything happening in the hallway. This is, however, to be expected, as it is a traditional Japanese residence and not a hotel. Not a big inconvenience.

舊舊的但有親和力的好地方

廁所跟浴室都是公用的，不過整體很整潔。房間有點老舊，但是有暖氣也有小的電視，很像借住在日本人家裡，是很有趣的體驗。店主都是老人家，英文卻很好，也會很熱心介紹附近的景點跟交通方式，讓人感受到滿滿溫暖。

OK for just one night.

The room was large but cold and drafty. The small heater in the living room could not be moved further than 1 meter and was inefficient at heating both rooms. The heater also needed to be restarted every hour or so which meant we didnt get much sleep. Bed was comfortable and the room had the bathroom ensuite. WiFi in the room but not free portable WiFi. Location was ok once we figured out the shortest straightest route to get 3 luggage to the train station. They have flexible left luggage service which is great.

和父母一共三人住了四天三晚，整體感覺不錯。很日式風格、老闆也很友善、洗手間也很整潔。值得一讚的是屋主每天都會替我們換床鋪，惟房間設施有點破舊，看得出來已經很久沒翻新了。唯一感到不滿的是，我們住到第三晚時，三人均不約而同發現兩隻大腿後側的皮膚長了一大片點狀紅疹，懷疑是不太衛生的榻榻米所致。太恐怖了，以後也不會再住。

SO nice, great price for hard-to-find family room!

For our first trip to Tokyo, we lucked into a wonderful Ryokan! Prices in the city are so high, and this was very reasonably priced. This isn't a fancy high-rise hotel, but it's extremely well-maintained and serviced. Comfortable beds on tatami mats, very private room. Also a lovely private bathroom, much appreciated in the very hot month of August. Great walks to nearby Ueno Park (like Cenral Park in NYC), with the added bonus of little Yanako town next door. Yanako is a sweet, old-style village with lovely little restaurants and a beautiful serene little cemetery we wandered through.

輕鬆寫意的旅遊

車站離住屋以有提行李箱的家庭，步行是有點難度，但周圍的上野動物園跟上野公園及科博館還有文藝展區，鄰近學校是我們比較喜歡的環境，這次旅遊家庭自助，行程定點，除搭JR車站稍遠點，其他都方便。喜歡日式的住房，所以選擇這邊四人家庭房。每天有房務整理，是選擇有私人衛浴的房型，只有樓梯較窄且陡，小孩走路要小心，旅館主人很親切，是滿值得住的日式小屋。之前比較過多家住宿，發現在東京寸土寸金的狀況，旅館房型其實不會很大，如果要住大點的房型，是建議往郊區或是有網友住過特別推薦的旅館，才會比較真實。

Basic, quiet, good location

Basic accomodation. Clean. Stairs are narrow and steep (expected at a Ryokan) so do not plan on large/heavy luggage or small children who may find stairs irresistable.
Not many features but coffee and tea are available in the (small) entrance room.
Some brochures are also available. A bus stop is nearby: the Bus is convenient for exploring the area, going to Ueno station and reaching ASAKUSA. The Riokan is anyway at walking distance from the Ueno JR Station (15 minutes) - can be partially through the park.
At walking distance there is the Hotel Graphy where you can have a nice breakfast in the morning with a good coffee.

Nice Ryokan but not what the usual stay.

For all of those who feel the need for a Ryokan this had the traditional feel that its one. Didnt have the meal options but had the largest room I stayed in Japan. It was like camping. Very quiet but hosts spoke almost no English. I didnt think worth the stay but glad got off the bucket list.

住起來很舒服，就是交通有點不便

三個人住一間，擺三個行李箱空間也很夠用，床鋪睡起來很舒服，開暖氣房間內很溫暖，周邊是住宅區很安靜，房東一家人就住在一樓，非常很熱心，還幫我們把行李搬到二樓房間，每天都有整理床鋪更換新的毛巾。缺點是離車站太遠，要走很長一段路，拖著行李箱走或是下雨要回到旅館蠻辛苦，隔音設備不好，隔壁房間的聲音都聽得很清楚，晚上要睡覺有點擾人。

현지 느낌이 물씬 풍기는 호텔

게이세이 우에노역에서 남자기준 10분정도 거리에 있는 숙소인데 숙소로 가는길이 지루하지 않고 너무 조용하고 현지 분위기를 많이 느낄 수 있어서 좋았습니다. 방은 일반 비지니스호텔이랑 다른 다다미 형식에 매트위에서 자는 형식이라 일본 현지의 느낌이 많이 납니다. 그래서 마치 일본 가정집에 와 있는 착각이 들정도로 괜찮은 호텔이었습니다.

Quaint and cosy place.

I had a very spacious room, but had to use the toilet and shower in the hallway. Which was not bad, because there were not many other guests. In fact, the shower was so clean and spacious, that I much prefer this to small cramped private facilities I had at other hotels.

우에노역에서 거리감이 있지만 걸을만했습니다.바로앞에 수퍼도 있고 네즈역쪽으로 걸어나가면 식당들도 있고 드럭스토어 마트도 있습니다.주인 아저씨와 할머니께서 친절하셨고 침구와 청소상태가 양호했습니다.소음이 좀 있지만 큰 불편함은 없었습니다.역에서 숙소까지 걸어가는 길도 예쁘고 다음에 도쿄를 간다면 또 이용하고 싶습니다.

Première expérience réussie d'un ryokan

L'ambiance est typiquement japonais et familiale. Un séjour très agréable avec un personnel très gentil et discret. Très proche du zoo, d'un grand parc, de quelques sites culturels et à 15 mn de la station Ueno. Je le recommande à tous et même aux familles, comme notre cas. Tellement plus attachant qu'une chambre dans un énorme complexe hôtelier. Et un sommeil serein dans un futon qui n'a rien à envier aux lits des chambres à l'occidentale. Sans hésiter, nous y reviendrons.

한적한 숙소

위치는 동물원의 사이길 끝에 있다. 네즈역보다는 우에노역이 거리는 약간 멀지만 전렃타기에 매우 유리하다 우에노녁은 JR노선이 속하고 네즈역은 도쿄역에서 내려 외부로 나와 한참을 이동해야한다. 회사가 다른 관계로. 우에노역에서 내려 우네노공원 입구를 오른쪽으로 지나쳐 동물원사이로 난 길을 약 15분정도 걸으면 이 료간이 나오는데 그 길이 너무 좋았다.
숙소는 호텔과 달리 일반주택가라 조용하고 일본의 흥치를 즐기기에 너무도 좋았다. 다만 아침이 제공이 되지 않아 불편했고 방음이 되지 않는 것이 약간 불편했다.
대체적으로 만족.

Cozy family-run ryokan

Everything was great at Katsutaro. Very friendly and helpful staff which I regard as the most important stuff for a hotel. I left my baggage before check-in and after check-out hassle-free. Room is spacious clean given one-man stay. Shared bathroom on the 2nd floor, not a concern for single traveler.

The hotel is 5-min walk from Nezu station and 15-min walk from Ueno, which I found convenient enough. The walk to Ueno is safe even at night, and that is some sort of experience. Given the price and the service, I definitely will stay at Katautaro again.

Nice ryokan

Lovely ryokan experience with pretty spacious rooms. They provide yukatas, which was fun to try on. I stayed in the room for two with a private bath, which was convenient. They provide a communal fridge and microwave, and have coffee/tea/water at the front. Friendly staff, but the nice old lady that checked us in only knew a few English phrases (we somehow managed to understand each other though), I think the man knows more English. They have plenty of English brochures and maps of the area for you to use.

Things to note:
The walls are a bit thin, you can hear the people outside talking if you're quiet in the room.
There's a flight of steep stairs up to the room, so make sure you can pull your luggage up.
The doorways to the rooms are low - if you're over 5'5" or so, you'll have to dip your head to get in. I'm short so the height was perfect.

Bonne adresse pour découvrir un intérieur japonais.
Pas de breakfast, c'est dommage et peu de communication avec les propriétaires des lieux.

Scappati veloci

Volendo nel corso del recente viaggio in Giappone che ho fatto con mia moglie fare anche l'esperienza del ryokan, Avevo prenotato questo tramite Expedia per tre notti, attratto soprattutto dalle recensioni di trip advisor che lo esltavano non solo per il rapporto qualita' - prezzo, ma proprio per la sua atmosfera particolarema. Gia' quando pero' abbiamo varcato la soglia, abbiamo capito che li' di fascino ce n'era davvero pocove. Quando poi ci hanno fatto inerpicare nella nostra stanza, abbiamo potuto constate che di tradizionale c'era solo un banale tatami, per il resto un reperttotio di oggetti rprovenienti dagli ann 69 e '70 del secolo scorso, su cui troneggiava come suggello una lampada al neon!
Oltretutto, contrariamente a quanto pareva ricavarsi dalla prenotazione fatta con Expedia, la camera non aveva bagno privato, bensi' condivideva toilette e diccia (oltretutto non proprio impeccabili) con altre camere, pur risultando la struttura dotata anche di camere con bagno privato. D'altro canto mettersi a discutere con il ragazzo che ci ha fatto la reception che praticamente non spiccicava una parola d'inglese....
Andarene subito non si poteva, perche' bisognava comunque cercare un altro albergo e poi spistarvici con le valigione e una temperatura esterna che alle 15 sfiorava i 36 gradi, per cui abbiamo subito cercato e prenotato la nuova camera per le due notti restanti e il giorno dopo ci siamo trasferiti, smenandoci comunque due notti gia' pagate.

超推薦。很道地的日式純樸民宿，日式生活體驗，像到友人家拜訪又不拘束。對面有商店。離主要交通雖有一點距離，但每天花10分鐘穿過不忍池、上野動物園，也是很棒的體驗!!

Great location, spacious and clean rooms.

Great location (central but still quiet area). The rooms are spacious and very clean.

The only negative thing is that they also accept families with children. There was still horrible family whose children were running and yelling around the corridor also after midnight till I bawled their father keen. The staff should take better care about things like that!

Good location, price is ok for Tokyo.

- the house is very very clairaudient and unfortunately there are also familys with children accepted. There was this horrible family with children! The children were running and yelling through the corridor also after midnight, so I had to bawl their father hard. The staff should take care about things like that!!!

가족 여행갈 때 추천합니다

조용하고 편안합니다
10개월 아기와 묵었는데 아기도 잘 놀고 잘 자더라구요

우에노역과 네즈역에서 가깝고
아사쿠사까지 가는 버스가 숙소 바로 앞에서 출발해서 이동하기에도 편리합니다

아주 번화가는 아니지만 바로 앞에 슈퍼도 있고 조금만 걸으면 식당도 꽤 많아요

很满意的旅社

很棒的旅社，服务很好很热情，老板帮我们解决不少问题，是个热心的大叔，这家店已经多年历史，虽然设施会相对差点（没有电梯），但清洁度和舒适度也很好，地点也方便，就在上野公园旁边，空气好，还会推荐朋友过入住

我推薦再來！

酒店位置實在有些遠，但是掌握了路線之後倒沒那麼令人困擾。與老闆的交流雖然在語言上受到限制，但從熱情程度上絲毫感受不到限制。甚至日本的快遞都替我接收并妥善收存了。
房間雖然有些小，也有些不隔音，但乾淨、整潔、各項設施都很到位。
我會再來！

나쁘지 않으나 크게 좋지도 않은 곳

전통적인 일본료칸. 위치는 네즈라는 역에서 도보로 10분. 우에노역과는 25분 정도. 침구는 편안. 부대서비스는 와이파이와 인스턴트 커피와 차. 간섭없는 편안함은 있으나 부대서비스는 없음. 아침 되지 않음

Hôtel accueillant mais chauffage défectueux

Tout était OK, à l'exception d'un chauffage défectueux qui, la nuit, a transformé la chambre en frigo (en mars)
