The room was clean, spacious, and very comfortable. The deck was also large, and I had a wonderfully relaxing time drinking coffee while listening to the birds. I’d love to stay here again the next time I visit Naoshima.

子連れで6人で宿泊しました。離れを一棟借りたので気を遣わず過ごせてよかったです。
食事も美味しく、食べきれなかったパエリアは部屋に持ち帰りさせてもらえました。レストランでワインも購入できたので、部屋に戻ってからゆっくり飲んだりつまんだりできたのも良かったです。

離れはキッチンやダイニングもあり広々しているので子連れやグループでの利用に特におすすめです(ベビーベッドなどはないので、赤ちゃん連れは工夫が必要かと)。

無印良品の家具や雑貨で構成されたシンプルな部屋は、すごく居心地が良く清潔でした！猫ちゃんが居たり、海が美しく見れたり、とにかく居心地、視界に入る全てが素敵。坂道がかなり急で行き着くまでに息が上がるけど、その先にここがあるからがんばれる。

もしくは入れるように一言あれば良かったですね。食事面はメニューも豊富で美味しく頂きました。

ウェグナーハウスに宿泊したが、バスタブが屋外にあり、天井が藁のようなものを乗せただけだったので、どう考えても明かりを付けて入浴したら丸見えだと思ったので、水着も持って行っていなかったので、お風呂に入れなかったのが残念だった。

Great for a hotel/lodge-like experience. The dinner was also great with locally-sourced seafood and meat/games.

A few caveats- the final road to the lodge’ entrance is not on the Google map. If you use the Google navigation keep going after the navigation ends, then take a right turn to the street that’s not on the Google map. If you choose to stay at the peak lodge you’ll need to hike up the hill by stairs. Make sure your are fit for this; but you’ll be rewarded by the hill-top view. The streets from the main street to the lodge are very narrow- don’t drive a SUV or a large car if you’re not good at driving.

家具は無印良品メインでシンプルで清潔でした。
周辺にレストランがほとんどないことや休日が多いことを先に知らせて欲しかったです。危うく夕食抜きになるところでした。
宿泊客の多くは外国人でかなり盛り上がっているグループもありました。すると他の外国人が抗議に訪室している様子が聞こえてきました。
電源は多いのですが、USBが直接入るところがなくて少し残念でした。

夕飯も絶品揃い！街の飲食店は予約が必要だったり早く閉まってしまうので、宿での夕食がオススメです。

数分坂道を登ったところにあるが、その分眺望が良い。高台から海を見下ろす形になる。凪いでる瀬戸内海を見ながらぼーっと過ごせるのが1番良いポイント。夕日を見れるデッキを作ってくれている。
ツインで泊まったがセミシングルくらいのベッドなので幅の狭さが気になる人はいるかもしれない。
ご飯はコースで楽しめて、特にパエリアが美味しいです。景色も良い

期待はずれ

施設設備は新しく快適そうに見えますが、隣の部屋の会話はなんとなく聞こえますし、子供の鳴き声は丸々聞こえ、リラックスできませんでした。朝は隣の部屋の目覚ましが、すぐ近くでなったようなくらい聞こえました。
またコロナ感染対策として、食事をとる場所の配慮がなさすぎでした。特に海外からの人は、マスク着用に無頓着なので、食事が終わったらマスク着用を施設の人が促すべきです。月曜日火曜日とレストランが休みなのですが、街中の開いている飲食店がごくわずかなことがわかっているならば、夕食の提供も考えてほしかったです。

近くで工事があったので、朝から工事音がしたのが残念でしたが、そこも完成したらより素敵になると思いました。

cozyな宿

駐車場はホテル直近のものは有料1000円ですが、そこまでの道が狭く曲がり角も4回程あるので大型車はぶつける危険があります。無料の駐車場はホテルのある丘の下にあるため、4〜5階建てに相当する階段を登る必要があります。
宿自体は無印良品風の設えで統一されていて、大変cozyな感じです。トイレとバスは別です。海を丘の上から望む事ができます。部屋にテレビはありませんが、壁に素敵な絵が飾ってあります。ウッドデッキのベランダが各部屋に付いています。

場所が高台にあり、狭い道を通っていく必要があること、無料駐車場が分かりにくい場所にあることから、案内表示など出したりするとよいと思います。

The room was clean, contemporary with a great balcony and view of the bay. We love the hilltop hotel but it was a challenge for us, as senior citizens, to get there. Long 10-12 min. walk up hill from the port with three main steep stairs to move within the facility. If we were younger, not an issue.

Beautiful hotel and corner rooms have a view that overlooks the town out to the sea. We appreciated the chefs accommodating our cow’s milk allergy. Dinner was very good. Added bonus: the hotel is associated with Naoshima Tours (bicycle rental and luggage transport); very convenient! Would definitely recommend.

This boutique hotel has spacious well designed rooms with an excellent shower and counter space . Each room has a terrace and views of sea. It’s only a 10 minute walk from ferry terminal but steep uphill all the way. Excellent on site dinner options multi course and well prepared. Breakfast is more European than Japanese. Meat heavy . I miss the vegetable options seen at other hotels. Drip coffee rather than espresso machine. Very nice staff and mostly responsive to emails. The website for luggage delivery from port is hard to use / translation didn’t work on all spaces -and the staff wouldn’t help so I had to lug suitcase up the hill on arrival.

This is a review of the Peak Cottage of My Lodge. It is very different from the main building and there has been lengthy descriptions of this cottage on the website. But they don't prepare you for the reality. For the price you pay, you get the most basic room smaller than a youth hostel. The separate bathroom has no proper door but is slatted, which means it does not stop wind or cold coming in. This maybe fine in high summer, but early spring with a cold snap? You will be on the toilet shivering. To make things worse, there is no hot water coming from the washing tap. I know about the limited shower time, but I was not prepared to wash my hands in freezing icy water every time after using the toilet. The steps they warned you about is steeper then expected, I would not suggest taking luggage more then the size of a cabin bag. I am not sure why the hotel sell this cottage at the same price as their rooms. In the cold weather it is almost uninhabitable. We did have dinner and breakfast. Food is all western, which seem to be normal on the island. Dinner was fine but breakfast was not very good. It is a weird combination of tomato soup, salad, kind of a piece of toast and kind of full English. There isn't any condiment of any kind, not even jam or honey. We loved the island and understand we have limited options of places to stay. But charging this rate for the Peak Cottage feels like we have been taking advantage of. I have since complained to both the hotel but received no

Don’t recommend! Terrible staff!

Staff is terrible, we asked about lunch they replied that they are starting to work from 6pm, we came after 6pm they replied that we don’t have reservation and they will not provide food for us, we been tier after 6h traveling, also my wife was cold, we asked transfer to some restaurant, taxi they refused us to help they said straight forward walk… outside was only 4C, my wife left w/o dinner. Also terrible access to hotel, you have to clime to steep hill will luggage, no shuttle service. Staff is like from another galaxy, manager refused to meet and talk

We had a separate room unit at the hilltop with our own sauna. Unfortunately the bathroom was apart from the room and very cold with no heat. There weren’t kimonos so we had to dress to use the toilet.

Wundervolles, liebevoll geführtes Haus

Es war wundervoll, vor allem die Aussicht. Sehr großes Zimmer, super nettesTeam im Haus, fabelhaft. Ich habe einen Stern abgezogen, weil ich es schöner gefunden hätte, wenn die Küche nicht europäisch gewesen wäre. Die Portionen waren sehr klein, geschmeckt hat es gut. Frühstück war auch eher europäisch, lokal wäre für mich das Tüpfelchen auf dem i gewesen. Leider auch kein Yukata auf dem Zimmer, für den Preis hätte ich mir das gewünscht. Aber unbedingt zu empfehlen!

Unique spot near Miyanoura port area. Facilities are incomparable! We stayed at Wenger House, a separate 2-bedroom apartment, living room and fire inside! Private sauna inside! Great for a family, comfort and privacy.

Great stay, mini sauna with exterior bath is fantastic. Interior doors etc are mostly sliding so don't expect privacy. Front door lock is very "sticky". The house is a bit up a hill, but you get a very nice view for the effort, great stay.

Great hotel but hard to get there. Is on a hill and the hotel has many levels no elevators

Naoshima has almost no transportation so you have to walk up and down hill

Very small room simply decorated, even tinnier shower. Nice view from balcony.
Long stairway to second floor rooms, don’t carry heavy baggage. Restaurants hard to find after dark, especially when you drive, impossible to turn into narrow lanes.
Kaoshima has amazing museums, but biking and walking are best left for the young and healthy.
