インスタ映えには良い。

スタッフの方々は、とても親切です！

メゾネットでカッコは良いけどトイレに、いちいち降りないといけないのは不便。
エントランスが無駄に狭いぶん、風呂が狭すぎるのでコストを考慮するとリピートは難しい。
貴重な町屋の雰囲気なので是非一度体験してください！

A magical stay in Kyoto — a memory we’ll keep fore

We stayed at Nazuna Kyoto Tsubaki Street during our honeymoon, after having experienced Nazuna Hakone, and it was even more special. The hotel is simply stunning, located on a charming street that feels like stepping into old Kyoto. With only 16 rooms, it offers a peaceful, exclusive atmosphere — perfect for unwinding after a day exploring the city.

Our room had two floors and a private onsen, which was the ultimate way to relax at the end of each day.

But what truly touched our hearts was the hospitality. Since we had already stayed at Nazuna Hakone, the Kyoto team knew exactly what we liked — and they went above and beyond. We were constantly surprised with thoughtful touches: handwritten letters in our native language (Portuguese), printed photos of us, and little treats like our favorite tuna sashimi, cheese, and snacks waiting for us in the room.

One morning we woke up late and asked for breakfast in the room — and they carefully set it up for us at our table. The breakfast itself was amazing. We chose the Western-style meal, which was delicious, but they also offer a traditional Japanese option.

The hotel’s architecture is breathtaking, the atmosphere is calm and cozy, and the attention to detail is remarkable. But what stood out the most was the service — warm, respectful, and truly heartfelt. We felt at home, deeply cared for, and genuinely special. It was one of the best experiences of our lives and made our honeymoon absolutely perfect.

This was an excellent stay that we would love to return to. The property was gorgeous, the staff were very attentive, and the room was a perfect place to return to after a long day of adventure. We try to stick to Japan's world class public transit but the distance from the nearest stations did necessitate a few taxi trips for us. The accommodation was two stories, which we enjoyed, but beware of steep steps and lots of elevation changes in your stay. In two nights we used the private bath three times. Temperature control of the water made it wonderful even in summer, though the bath might not fit two people comfortably if you are both tall. My husband is 6'3" (190cm) and had some trouble there as well as with a few low areas (mainly going down the stairs). The staff make every effort for you to enjoy your stay, when we arrived they showed us around the property, helped us understand how to use the amenities, gave us a personalized gift, had complimentary drinks in the fridge (some with alcohol!), and helped us make a dinner reservation with the onsite kitchen. If you are considering dinner with this ryokan, we do have some warnings. Before hand we were sold on a multi-course wagyu dinner. The dinner for two cost us around 150 USD before drinks and we were not prepared to be served beef tongue, tail soup, and raw meat. I'm sure many would enjoy the food but it was quite difficult for us. Ask about the menu beforehand and make sure it is something you would like to experience.

I am very satisfied with our stay here. The service was excellent and the staff were all very helpful and friendly. They even brought our bags to our room and had them ready for us when we entered our room. The room and the facilities were very clean. I would highly recommend it and I hope to be back again soon!

An absolute must stay!

Staff were all really nice and helpful. Room was amazing, really enjoyed the private outdoor bath and the really spacious shower. The Japanese breakfast was fun if a little adventurous for us but we still enjoyed it. Would definitely recommend staying here, even if for just one night like us, it was a great experience!

Für die Übernachtung zahlt man den Preis eines First-Class-Hotels, entsprechend hoch sind die Erwartungen. Die Anlage ist schön, die Häuschen modern eingerichtet. Das Zimmer im ersten Stock ist im japanischen Stil (mit Tatami) gestaltet. Toll ist auch das kleine Außenbecken, in dem man sich nach einem Sightseeing-Tag im warmen Wasser entspannen kann. Insgesamt bieten die Häuschen ähnlich viel Platz wie ein geräumiges Hotelzimmer.
Einige Abnutzungsspuren wie z. B. kleine Flecken auf dem Teppich und verwitterte Holzverkleidungen neben den Eingängen sind sichtbar.
Das Lokal (Bungo) bietet eine hervorragende Küche. Wer die Chance hat das Wagyu Menü zu buchen, sollte dies tun.
Das Personal ist jung und motiviert, aber wohl unerfahren. Es kam zu mehreren Pannen: Etwa dem unbegründeten Mitnehmen der Pässe beim Einchecken (zum Kopieren) und vergessenen Teetassen beim Frühstück. Ein Mitarbeiter erklärte uns ausführlich und freundlich die Ausstattung des Zimmers. Leider hat er dann vergessen, uns die Schlüsselkarte auszuhändigen.
Aus Versehen haben wir eines der Trinkgläser, die auf dem Zimmer standen, zerbrochen. Das haben wir sofort der Rezeption mitgeteilt. In jedem anderen First-Class-Hotel hätte man uns diskret ein neues Glas aufs Zimmer gestellt. Hier nicht. Zwar wurde am nächsten Tag mit einem Kärtchen und einer Schachtel Tee nachgefragt, ob uns nichts passiert sei. Das Glas wurde aber nicht ersetzt und am Ende berechnet. Das ist berechtigt, wirkt aber bei diesem Preis kleinlich

Lieu typique japonais et atypique dans l’offre hôtelière locale. Paisible et traditionnel. Petites maisons individuelles mitoyennes charmantes, très belles chambres confortables avec bain extérieur et sale d’eau vitrée. Conception intelligente, optimisée et bien pensée. Nous avons passé 3 jours hors du temps!
Le prix reste élevé mais nous ne regrettons pas notre choix. Très cohérent avec la dimension traditionnelle préservée de Kyoto.
Petit déjeuner japonais à tester!

Tsubaki St is a safe haven tucked away in the heart of Kyoto. The staff are lovely, they're all great people and clearly were chosen for the right reasons. They were efficient, warm and patient with us during our stay. The dinner and breakfast were a lovely experience, as it's very interactive and delicious to eat. Same with the traditional tea and welcoming snacks, and the late night egg sandwich snack available upon request when you call the front desk from around 6:30-9. The twin take town house we stayed at was super comfortable and accommodating to all our needs. Very spacious, and the private onsen was incredibly relaxing. You can adjust the temperature of the water to your preference. They really put a lot of thought and care when building the property. The lounge is comfortable and has plenty of complimentary beverages and snack available. Created a lovely atmosphere for the tea ceremony where you can choose a custom tea to drink, brewed in front of you by staff. Karin was so helpful and so fun to talk to during our stay and tea ceremony. She told us more about the people who run the property, gave us recommendations on where to go in Kyoto and was very personable. She even went out of her way to fold us some origami Pikmin characters, as the night before we had showed her our Pikmin manicure. Another staff had passed it on to us upon checkout, I was in tears having received such thoughtfulness after such a short yet wonderful stay. Once in a lifetime experience!

The aesthetic of the property is beautiful— lots of different textures and minimalist design. The unexpected extras they provide add so much to the experience such as the welcome tea and confection, lounge options, and essential oil gift. Staff is wonderful and ready to help in any way. It’s hard to put in words how we feel about this property. From check in to check out the staff went above and beyond to assist us with our stay. Their friendliness is unmatched. The room we stayed in was immaculate, smelled amazing, clean and had all the amenities you could ask for. The private onsen, the shower, mini fridge where anything inside it is free including alcohol. We had the included breakfast at their restaurant which was incredible. They also have a lounge area for guests that include drinks and small bites. The late night snacks (egg sandwich) was fantastic after a long day of site seeing. I recommend this property 1,000 times over.

Très agréable hôtel , mais onaccueil malheureusement pas assez pro , resto de l’hôtel pas assez bon , le prix est très élevé , donc nous attendions un très haut niveau d’accueil .
L’espace n’était pas très généreux , nous avons eu du mal à mettre nos valises !
Malgré un agencement soigné et charmant , l’espace manque .

Wonderful staff (several are excellent English speakers). Charming layout that looks like a real street in old Kyoto. Room had its own private onsen that worked very well. Definitely appreciated that free minibar and drinks/snacks lounge and the late-snack they will bring to your room. Lovely place!

I booked this 6months in advance. It was me, my husband and two year old traveling. I was so excited for this hotel because it looked so cool and had such great reviews. i believed the cost was worth it for the experience. When I booked on Expedia, nowhere did it flag that children under 6 are not allowed. Flash forward and I am now in Tokyo one day prior to my reservation. My Tokyo hotel called Nazuna Kyoto to coordinate luggage transfers. Thats when they were told babies are not allowed at the property. Obviously, this was after the deadline to cancel. I immediately booked a new hotel and decided I would deal with the refund upon returning from vacation. When I returned, I spoke to Expedia customer service on 4 separate occasions. Each time, I had to start my explanation all over as to what happened and why I was requesting a refund. I was denied each time for not cancelling within the allowed window of time by the hotel. On the hotel landing page, you will need to navigate to the fifth tab “policies.” Then into the fine print under “children and extra beds” to see kids under 5 not allowed. Whomever manages the Expedia landing page should have been more transparent of this policy. Nothing flagged. Noting popped up. As a frequent hotel patron, this is an unusual policy. It wasn't on my radar. I even disputed the charge with my credit card- but Expedia denied again for not cancelling in the acceptable timeframe. I was left paying a significant amount for Expedia’s failure.

We stayed at Nazuna Tsubaki St. in Kyoto for one night over our honeymoon. The room, the property, and the area were fantastic but the staff is what made it exceptional. We mentioned to Ariel that we were going to USJ for Nintendo world and she made us a personalized card with paper art to congratulate us. The Japanese and western breakfasts were wonderful and the provided amenities were very high quality, if we ever get the chance to stay here again we will gladly book again!
