A true oasis in Okinawa. The room was exquisite. The view to die for. The pool was inviting and comfortable. The spa was amazing. While the dining was limited, we did enjoy the grill. Bucket list destination and deserving of a return visit

Iconic landmark hotel resort. The pool area is incredible, warm and soft water infinity pool.

The room was comfortable, good AC, strong water pressure, quality soap and face cleanser. Bed was comfortable; was able to order extra pillow. The lighting and charging connections can be adjusted while in bed.

Highly recommend a car, otherwise you will feel stuck. Your IDP needs to be within 1 year otherwise it expired. I learn the hard way.

I’d suggest they offer diet Coca Cola and more refreshments by the pool. Perhaps a bit more of Western approach to sales at the pool.

We stayed at the Hoshinoya Okinawa for five days and had a lovely time. For a Westerner, interesting to stay in a Japanese hotel catering to Japanese tastes and needs. Food was a bit complex at this hotel because reserving in advance was always required, but it wasn't difficult to do. The modern design of the place was really lovely, the Ulo Grill had excellent food and the Lounge/shop had beautifully curated things to buy from Okinawa at very reasonable prices. We really enjoyed staying and would recommend.

We had a fantastic stay here. The room was immaculate and the facilities are beautiful. The staff were all incredible and really made us feel welcome. The property itself is quite far from other amenities so I would recommend hiring a car if you plan to leave the hotel and explore.

Beautiful location - very relaxing. The staff were excellent. The rooms were spacious and very comfortable. The pool was great and not too busy when we stayed.

Luxury and tranquility

We had the most incredible stay here, the most amazing resort we’ve stayed at. From check in to check out the experience for five- star. The resort itself is beautiful, the rooms are so nicely designed and the pool area was lovely with ocean views and the pool always perfect temperature and so peaceful and tranquil. All the small touches made the stay perfect like evening music and sake, buggy rides and the spa and restaurant were fantastic. Overall the staff were what made the experience so superior, they were always professional, incredibly organised and accomodating. The only place to stay in Okinawa for total luxury.

Amazing stay - a lot of children though…

Really amazing property. The room, the service, the common areas, everything was really well thought out. The only thing was that there were a lot of kids and sometimes the pool area was not that relaxing and chill.

Beautiful hotel with very helpful staff. The views from our room were lovely, and the pool had a wonderful view of the ocean water temp was perfect. Would definitely recommend to anyone staying in Okinawa.

Wonderful resort, would be super with accessible R

The facility is not wheel chair accessible. Entrances should have ramps for wheelchair. Bathroom needs grab bars and bath tubs should be accessible or shallow for easy access. Need elevator for upper floors if designated as accessible room.

Nice property worth to spend some time to explore the ground and join the activities offered. Great services, but wish the hotel offer better way to communicate with staff such as an APP with chat function. I asked a staff to make dinner reservation for me. But the only way I would know if the reservation was successfully made was through a notes leave in my room. I had to come back to hotel instead of just having dinner elsewhere.

Everything is amazing! The dining options can be a bit limiting and have odd times so make sure you plan your meals as soon as you can and make the necessary reservations. The resort is exceptional and the staff very attentive.

The staff is well trained and chat in a scripted manner (lacking sincerity or personal touch). The high compound wall and jinbei wear makes me feel that the resort is like a prison for the affluent. The high windows in the suites have nice views but the feeling is like a glass zoo exhibit.

Amazing authentic Japanese hotel

We stayed here for 2 nights as part of a larger honeymoon trip to Japan.

From the moment you arrive the staff was some of the best we had experienced, very attentive, took us through the facilities at the property and were very attentive to my partners dietary requirements

The hotel is built along the coast line, with reception and most of the restaurants / pool being towards the middle / south of the property. The spa (used for massages) and activity class rooms are towards the North of the property. Most of the rooms are towards the North of the property so those wanting to use the pool or cafe / grill will need to walk either 5/10 minutes (depending on room location) or can get staff to pick them up from the rooms. Usually we would walk to the pool, and then get the golf buggies back (as most of the staff / buggies are located at the reception, near the pool / restaurants)

Pro’s:
- Amazing rooms and service
- The pool is amazing, bigger than in the photos, and a true highlight

Good things for non-Japanese to know:
- The hotel isn’t built to be like an all inclusive hotel, but rather is catering to Japanese needs. This means, there is no alcohol at the pool (and no proper bar), and most food options need to be booked in advance
- Renting a car / booking an Uber makes it easy to see the island / get to more food options
- As catering to Japanese who like privacy, staff won’t be walking around to cater to your needs, but rather are always reachable via phone / reception

Not a 5-star experience - more of a kids place

Overall very nice facilities, but not a 5 star hotel experience. Firstly, staff was not in sync at all, and were not on top of things, although they were friendly. Secondly, service level in terms of getting drinks and towels etc by the pool didn’t exist. Thirdly, the pool area was constantly crowded by kids and families, not at all the relaxing vibe that the pictures portray. When we raised this concern and told them that we expected a more peaceful atmosphere on our honeymoon, they said they can’t do anything about it. Lastly, they woke us up with a loud message in the speaker in our room that scared us at 7.30, stating that the fire alarm was false. The fire alarm, we never heard of in the first place.

At this price, we expected a lot more!
