大満足の宿です

とても清潔で快適でした。素泊まりでしたが、大変お安く宿泊でき、大満足でした。また京都へ行く際には利用したいと思います。

新しい建物で非常に快適です。普通のホテルとは違いフロントでのチェックイン時間は限られているみたいですので、遅くなる場合は注意が必要かもです。

綺麗でコンパクトなホテル。必要十分。
加湿器がすでにセットされていたり、持ち出せるスマホが用意されていたり、荷物を京都駅近くのオフィスまで運ぶ＆預かってくれたりと、こちらが望むものをあらかじめ用意してくれていた。
また泊まりたい。

新しくて施設が全て綺麗でした。ただバスタブの底に少しザラつきが残っていて残念でした。レイトチェックインの場合の手続きや説明もスムーズで安心して夜遊びができました。建仁寺での朝のお散歩が気持ちよかったです。

Great location, amazing food nearby and temple next door. Nice view from the 3rd floor (don’t feel boxed in like cities). Very polite and English friendly staff. Two combination units for washer+dryer so we could do 2 loads at once.

Pretty location near many temples and shrines in the area. Very clean super friendly staff. Was there anytine I asked for help or needed anything. Would stay here again in a heartbeat if in the area once again.

Good for business trip

Clean, comfortable room with a decent sized working desk in a busy but still tucked away Gion location. A range of restaurants nearby. No breakfast/restaurant available, but 7-11 is a 5 minutes walk away.

Excellent value and location to stay in a historical neighbourhood, close to many attractions, shops, and food spots. The building and courtyard are pretty and tranquil - a nice welcoming to this beautiful city.

The best part about this hotel is that it is near everything you’d want to see in Kyoto, and if not the station is close by.

I feel like having to pay for the room to be cleaned whilst at a Hotel and not an AirBnb is crazy, and even when the hotel room was cleaned it remained dirty. We didn’t get our suitcases put into our room despite being told we would.
Also we had bugs in our room. Not sure if they were bed bugs, but we and my wife got bit a lot. The hotel was the worst part of our trip to Kyoto

We stayed at the Rinn Gion Kenninji for 2 nights in September and it was one of our favorite places to stay it during our trip to Japan. There are temple grounds behind the hotel which was really cool to see from our room. A lot of locations were within walking distance (max 20 minute walk away). We will probably consider staying here again if we visit in the future.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel in Gion, really close to the subway station and super classy area full of bars and restaurants! Only downside is compared to other hotels we stayed in Japan the facilities were not as great, no vending machine etc. Would definitely stay here again when we are back on Kyoto

Overall decent hotel experience

My wife and I enjoyed our stay at this hotel. It’s in a great location and the twin room offered amble space for two. The service was also great and we were positively surprised to learn that the hotel staff spoke decent English which is a rarity in Japan.

We initially booked a double room but after viewing the room upon arrival we decided to pay for an upgrade to a twin room. The double bed was so small for western standards that it resembled a single bed more than a double bed.

The only downside for us was the toilet. Like many Japanese hotels in this quality range, the bathrooms are tiny pods made entirely of plastic. It feels very similar to an airplane toilet and very NOT luxurious. I failed to spot this when booking the hotel to my wife’s dismay. Personally I was fine with it.

This hotel does not use electronic keycards, but give you 1 key with a wooden block attached to it. You need to walk around with this in your pocket which to some may be a nuisance. Also, I actually forgot to hand back the key when checking out and had to pay 750yen to post it from Osaka.

Overall I recommend this hotel - but only the twin room for couples. The beds can be pushed together.

Great location

It was in a great location close to the old parts of Kyoto but also the subway and the centre making it very easy to get around from. The rooms are really nicely done but very small. The bathrooms were particularly small and for 2 of us with luggage it was a bit of a right fit, but then we didn't spend much time in the rooms anyway. Nice to have Nespresso coffee in the room, this was the only hotel we stayed in during our time in Japan that offered this. We would recommend this hotel if you're visiting Kyoto and it was reasonably priced.

Small clean hotel in an excellent area for tourists. Very close to the historic streets where you can try to glimpse geisha. Staff were kind and helpful. Just a small comment that if you need to do laundry, the dryer is not very effective, and it took me 2 hours to dry a small load (costs 100 yen per 30 minutes of drying).

Great place to stay, in the heart of Gion district, beautiful streets, train station around the corner , just close to everything.
Staff were very helpful and welcoming, the room was on the small size but otherwise perfect, had all the necessary items available and comfortable.

This small hotel is a gem in the middle of an historic district where you can walk to the market, the Samurai Museum and for a traditional rea ceremony with a gesha performance. The Imperial Palace and the Museum of Kyoto are not far by subway or taxi. Best of all is the gentility of the staff, especially An and Kosai.

A beautiful property. Historical view from the window/balcony. Serene, balanced, upon entering, then again to the room. Bathroom set-up beautiful and convenient as shower, sink and toilet all separate. Tiny sofa and table gave us space for our maps. Not too much space for two small suitcases, but delightful surroundings. We did laundry in one of the four machines available.
We enjoyed staying in Gion and would love to return to this hotel. The staff is friendly and helpful. They assisted us with restaurants and tea ceremony reservations.

Excellent location, close to many sights

Excellent location, clean and comfortable rooms. I did not like that they use a textile freshener when they clean the rooms, and that gives me an allergy. Other than that personal experience, I can highly recommend this hotel.

Great location

The hotel is very conveniently located near public transport and is within walking distance of attractions such as the Higashiyama district. The rooms are tastefully decorated and the self service toiletries station is a nice and convenient touch!

We loved the friendly and helpful staff. They kept our luggage before checking in. They also guided us on where to eat given that a lot of restaurants were closed due to the holiday break.

Lovely Stay!

The room was very lovely. Overall this was a lovely hotel with professional and welcoming staff and a beautiful bento breakfast each morning. The only improvement I can recommend is to allow for more clothing storage. I believe that this is because it's more of a business travel property, but we were a couple on business and pleasure and the 4 hooks in the room were not enough for our week's worth of clothing. That said, we managed just fine.

Also, I would recommend a room on the back side of the building, away from the main street. While it's a small street, it's quite busy. The street noise wasn't bad, but noticeable since the interior of our room was so serene.

Perfect

I wasn’t comfortable with being on the first floor. They Moved us the next day when a room was available. They went above and beyond to accommodate all our needs . They have a laundry room which was great. No microwave in the room but there was one on the first floor we could use. The location was perfect I would highly recommend this place

Hotel review

This was a quaint, cosy hotel located about 5 mins walk from Gion Shijo station, 7-eleven, 2 mins from Kenninji Temple, and 10 mins from the Pagoda Shrine and Fresco, a food market with fruit etc. It is a little snug but fine for me and my 7 year old. There is a medical clinic across the road, however children are only seen by Pediatricians, so can’t help with kids.
The staff were very pleasant and helpful. We arrived at 12:30pm and check-in is 4pm, but they let us check-in right away at no extra charge. The lady that assisted us could speak good English. There were many great sushi and udon restaurants around us.
I would recommend this and would stay there again.
There are many taxis In the area to wave down.

Amazing location great staff.
We got a room with a beautiful view of the temple which was very pleasant to wake up to.
Just one silly advise for those who are planning to stay here in the summer, never open the windows in the morning or night. Many many very agressive mosquitoes will enter the room immediately and trouble you a lot.

Having just stayed in Shinjuku, we were very appreciative of how much space there was in our room! It was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed as a base for part of our holiday (bath, shower, air con, TV, tea and coffee making facilities, microwave downstairs and even a washing machine downstairs). The location was great for exploring the city. There was also a mart about a 5 minute walk away. The look of the hotel was styled in a traditional manner. The staff were brilliant and very helpful and informative. I would definitely recommend.

Nice staff

My husband and I stayed here for our 5 day stay in Kyoto/Nara. The front desk staff was nice and spoke enough English to get by. They even offered an extra umbrella to us when it was raining. There is an actual key to get to the elevator and room, but warned not to lose it as it will cost money to replace.
The room was a decent size (2 twin beds), but the bathroom was small and unfortunately smelt like urine that wasn’t ours. There was no natural light in the room, as the window was covered by the bamboo silhouette wall. They did provide all the bathroom amenities and even free water bottles each day. The front desk gladly kept our luggage after checkout so we could get breakfast.
The hotel is 3-4 minutes from the Keihan line & walking distance to Gion and Pontocho.

飯店就在建仁寺旁，穿過建仁寺即到花見小路。

Loved the quaint and quiet location of this hotel. Staff were super helpful and the room was everything we needed. I’m not sure I could sleep on a futon longer than a few days but enjoyed the cultural experience all the same. Well priced and handy to many restaurants, temples and Kyoto city.
